My Guruji who taught me in the Indore Gharana style of Amir Khan couldn't stand Bhimsen Joshi! (LOL!) He complained there was too much theatrics! (cont. below)
But I would listen to Panditji's recordings in secret and imitate him when I was younger and introduce Panditji's Kirana Gharana style in my khayals and bandishes, and afterwards my gurudev would ask me where I got the idea for that interpretation - he would have a smile of satisfaction on his face, when I told him I got it from Panditji's recordings!
Panditji it seems sang with his whole body.I enjoyed watching him as much as listening to him.thank you for making this Vintage recording avilable for Kansens like me
