  • My friend, you should have your own show. Good work.

  • They are the most technological advanced guitars on the market.

  • mmm... steinburger...

  • cool info

  • Howdy

  • lol a guitar has a bipod, thts cool

  • Stein-BURGER^^

  • What are you playing through? It sounds great.

  • @carterfelderva Probably this is my Roland Microcube. It's plug in or battery powered, but on batteries it only last about 15 minutes.

  • Yes Sir. You are correct.

  • Hey man, just checking, this is a Spirit GT-PRO Deluxe, right? Thanks!

  • "the end that dont got ball own it" lol

  • Is it at all possible to downtune with these?

  • Why not just get a beautifully looking Les Paul model guitar? And not a big pile of shit??

  • @Macsk8ing I don't get it..... Trolls usually don't have any uploads.

  • Freaking love it! 'The other end is called "the end that don't got a ball on it" but this string got balls on both ends...'

  • Is it annoying to play it seated with the fold out thing? I like the look but I never use a strap so it has to be comfy

  • @JamesGod08 I never use that thing either, I can't remember when it became comfortable for me to play this thing, but I do remember thinking that I would probably never get comfortable with it. All just a distant memory for me now.

  • JamesGod08

Comfy it is. While initially skeptical, I was surprised how well this feature works. I have a similar '80's headless Burnstine/Guild (licensed by Steinberger) guitar which does not have this little plastic pull-out. The people who decided that it would get better with it, got it right.

  • @2010VanCan thanks! Will have to give it a try

  • @JamesGod08 try the new Myne AB-4 bass. It's even sleeker than the Steinburger, and comfy even without the strap.

  • @skyvault Thanks, looks cool, except it's a bass. I play guitar

  • @JamesGod08 I know the inventors of the Myne AB-4; Six-string guitar coming shortly. Stay tuned, I'll let you know when it's available.

  • "This side the other side is called the side that don't got a ball on it" truly remarkable quote

  • @roamerreed fuck now i have to watch the video to hear it

  • thank you i hope you find it n______n !

  • hi !

can you make a video using the R-trem how down and high can the trem do ?

to see the action of it please n__n

  • @Diabuluss I'll look around and see if I can find that little stick thing that goes in the trem. I know that I didn't throw it away, but there are about a zillion places where it could be. I wear out a set of strings every couple of weeks so I don't use the trem, because I figure that would just wear them out even quicker.

  • lol a lipstick, im gonna start calling single coils lipsticks lol

  • @mikevmpr3 Cool that will just be one more trend that I got started. I'm the guy that started the trend of wearing nerd glasses, Having a shaved head and beard, and now this.

  • @mikevmpr3 a lipstick is just another kind of pickup, popularized by Danelectro guitars, and are mostly single coil, but a few companies make lipstick humbuckers of them too

  • This guitar looks great! The only thing is that it's going to be very difficult for me to get "double ball" strings in my part of the world. Is it possible to use the "ball" from old strings and twist it on "single ball" strings? Has this been tried before?

  • @kleewm I've never found the strings anywhere for sale over the counter. When I order them, I usually order a dozen or more at a time. Whatever you do, DO NOT order strings off of ebay. They have some guys selling strings on there that have balls so big that they don't even come close to fitting into the holes on the guitar.

  • stein burger !!!!!!!

  • where can i buy this guitar bridge... i have one at home and the bridge is broken.. please, have benn searching thid for yearssss.... please...

  • @Loading17 I don't undedrstand why such a cool guitar can't have some kind of product support. This question has come up before. It's almost better to part out yours through ebay, take the money, and but yourself two whole new guitars.

  • Everytime i see these guitars all I can think is bill and ted

  • ~2:15 is the best..."known as the end that don't got a ball on it!"

  • MusicYo is defunct.

  • @Desmaad Yeah it is. It is very Distressing.

  • LOLOLOL! XD it amuses me at no end the way he pronounciates the brand name: STEEIN BUURGEEER!

  • Its called a headless guitar because it has no head well no shit sherlock

  • Comment removed

  • light, easy to carry and sounds great too, but i don't go much for its looks...

  • @MrLizardisle I keep a posing guitar around here. I never play it but every time I need a Facebook profile pic or something I break it out. It's a great big fat sunburst semi hollow body rig.

  • You can get a new one on MusiciansFriend for $400-$1050. They have pretty much like what you have except they use double ball or single ball, and have a detachable tremolo arm. And the middle pickup is called a single coil. I'm sorry yours got wet, it looks nice from what I can see.

  • @JohnathenDavis Use to be able to get one at MusicYo. But they haven't had them for years. Thanks for the lead.

  • damn.... now i want one now...

  • 31000 views? congrats:)

  • @MyJarOfFlies How did that happen?????

  • WENT UNDER KATRINA! proof that it is an AMAZING guitar!

  • single coil

  • This is an entry level steinberger these are the only steinberger's with 24 frets. I want my graphite fretboard but thats 22 frets :(

  • sir,is that a USA made steinberger? and hows the blues sound on it cos,am curious to know..

  • great guitar anyway.

  • @AllanHable I went to your channel the first time you posted and saw the White Stripes version of Jolene. That was so cool I had to post that on my FACEBOOK. A lot of my friends really liked it as well. My wifes reply was to post Dolly's version. I guess she just doesn't get it.

  • stock, not a head

  • @AllanHable Yes you are correct it is totaly bone stock, I have done nothing to customize it in anyway, and even though I am not a head, I have been accused of being an alcoholic, but it isn't true. I could quit anytime I wanted to. I think.

  • the combo headpiece is only for the synapse. you need to look on ebay for one that will fit the spirit. and besides, double ball strings are more fun.

  • you can to use single ball strings!!! liar!!!. you thread it through the head and tighten it. lol i just saw a video that shows you how to do it!!!

  • @zirconiumeffect I don't have the educational background or manual dexterity to install regular strings, that's one of the main reasons that I got this thing is for the ease of use. It is set up especially for special people like myself.

  • @ericladnier that's lazy. anyone, even a small child, could put regular strings on a regular guitar. yea it's a little challenging, but it's not rocket science.

  • "the other end is called the end that dont got ball's on it" hahahah

  • 2 balls ey

  • It's too bad D'addario doesn't sell those strings in a bulk pack because that's really what you need.

  • @fdsman It seems like you were talking about getting one of these headless wonders a while back. Did that ever happen? If you did whatever you do don't get strings off of eBay. There is a guy that sells strings for these things that don't fit. The balls on the ends are so big that they won't fit into the slots on the steinberger, and I highly doubt that they would fit on any other headless guitar either. I even tried to file them down, but they just broke.

  • @ericladnier The only thing that is "holding me back" is the fact that strings aren't available everywhere.

  • @fdsman look up "steinberger synapse", it has a combo head that lets you use regular strings!!!

  • @zirconiumeffect Wow, thanks, That's Cool.

  • As of late, it seems as if the shops that carry spirits have fluctuating supply from steinberger. It takes around 4 or 5 months for them to get more in stock. I believe Musician's Friend is the only place that still has the right hand spirit gt-pro deluxe's in black or white in stock which seems to be just what's left over from their previous shipment.

  • @OakPark11MileRd Apparently you're under the impression that I made a mistake, I did not.

  • hahaha... "The end that don't got ball on it!"

  • they're anything but ugly.

  • i got balls. Ha

  • i bet that thing is a pain in the butt to restring

  • Oh No. It is the easiest thing in the world. It takes me about 5 minutes total to restring it, and it takes about a half hour to restring my other guitars.

  • really? cool man, yea i have this modifyed labaye 2x4 and im telling you right now, that guitar is the most hardest guitar to restring that ive ever owned. the bridge makes it neer to impossible to restring.

  • I use to live on a ship when I was in the Navy and there was a guy there that worked topside that had one of them 2x4s He said that he really didn't like it as much as his regular guitar, but it was all that he could find that would fit in his locker. I thought that it was the coolest thing that I had ever seen. I found this guitar when I was googling 2x4. (true story)

  • lol, yah, i can see how a labaye can defenatly fit in a locker. very small giutar, but has a very unique sound

  • Seems like they could cut a couple more inches off the bottom if they are concerned with fitting in an airline baggage compartment. I think I'll get one to keep in my truck so I can practice while I'm sittin there waiting. Should sound decent jacked into the stereo.

  • Sounds Scary!!!!!!! I hate when that happens.

  • I've had three of these. Always sell the darn thing and then miss it and eventually get another one. They are a great travel guitar, sound just as good as anything else, and very novel. I'm a big guy and I look like Tiny Tim with the mandolin when I play it. People laugh.

    Ron

  • The Chiquita's are the same way. The greatest advantage of these Steinbergers is the 5 minute string change.

  • You said you keep quick disconnect strap things on your guitar, do you remember what brand and the product name?

  • @RaveSnoreThrong

Looks like he has Dunlop Straploks on there. They're really good.

  • This is just somethin weird I like to do but ever since my very first set of guitar strings, I've always snipped off the ball ends off the old strings every time I change the strings and save the old ball ends in a small bottle.

I suppose if I had a steinberger I'd get twice as much and maybe I'll melt them all down and make a ring or something.

  • String 'em into a necklace.Chicks dig stuff like that.

  • I don't even have enough to make a bracelet, I guess I should start wearing out my strings faster or something.

  • No, you're probably like me. I wear a set of strings out in about 3 days, than one of the strings break in about a month, than I play the guitar with 5 strings for about another 2 weeks before I change them.

  • well yes, I don't clean my strings after usage so they corrode and get dirty really really fast.

  • wait...can these guitars be tuned down lower tunings like D-a-d-g-b-e or even C-g-c-f-a-d? or are they specifically built for standard tuning?

  • Oh yeah. You can tune this thing any way you want. I kept this guitar on open G for a while untill I tuned one of my other guitars to open G. I may even have a video of me playing this thing in an alternate tuning. Don't really remember.

  • How did you get that cool, echo effect?

  • CheapAss Camera.

  • headless guitar? i just call it the broom stick

  • SO DO I! or the boat oar :D

  • Thanks for the info. I've been thinking about getting one of these lately - preferrably the Hohner G3T. But I wonder if it's got room for a Roland GK-pickup on it - I use the Roland VG88.

  • Whatever guitar I pick up, I just play. My ear just ain't that particular. But, I have talked to other people with all kinds of headless guitars that's always messin' with different pickups and stuff. I really don't know.

  • I was thinking the exact same thing. but it should work fine

  • over here double ball strings are available everywhere, there just arent as many brand choices...

  • Canada has everything better. I'ld move there, except my Momma lives here and I actually like living in a hot humid swamp.

  • hey do you mean this guitars need special strings???

can i put a normal strings in this guitars??

  • They sell an atachment that allows the use of standard strings, however I only recomend using it for emergencies. The double ball strings are the secret to the guitar never needing tuning.

  • You can indeed, but you won't have the advantages of Double Ball.

  • pelado salame

  • disfrute de su margarita

  • MusicYo had gone out of business. So sad.

I bought the Steinberger way before the Katrina. First one they sent me came with a dead pick up but they sent me another one as soon as I called them.

I replaced the bridge pick up to Bill Lawrence but that's about the only thing I changed. I like the guitar and it gets most of my attention among the guitars I have.

There are few things I feel lucky I decided to buy before it's too late and this is one of those.

  • It's not Called the head.

  • wow winding a string on there is easier than winding a string on a regular guitar

  • I hate to admit it but it takes me about an hour to wind a regular guitar. About 15 minutes of that is used to find an instructional video on you tube telling me how to wind a guitar.

  • evh uuses one! amazing sound

  • great vid. wish you played it a little. but tht's cool it got all wet and is still good.

  • I've got about a hundred vids on my youtube channel, probably a dozen or so are of me playing the Steinburger. You could type "steinburger pickup" into the search box and I actually have a video of the different sounds of each pickup. Thanks for commenting.

  • haha, thnx for replying. i'll check 'em out

  • the 1 side of the string your all fermiliar with is the ball end. the onther end of the guitar string IS CALLED THE END THAT DON'T GOT BALL ! XD LMAO HAHAH

  • hahaha thats wat I felt was funny too. lol

  • it also has a piezo bridge pickup

  • How much is it for a pack of Double-balled strings?

  • GHS is always about 10.00 a set after you pay shipping. WARNING!!!!! DO NOT GET CHINESE STRINGS OFF OF EBAY. The balls on the end of the strings are about 1/8 inch too big to fit in the end of any guitar. Also you can't file the ball down or squeeze them down with a pair of vice grips. They just crumble.

  • can you do lower tunnings also??

  • I've used it in some open tunings. It will tune to anything that you could tune a standard guitar to.

  • that thing is cool,i have a simular guitar, but it has a head on it! it a labaye 2x4, have you heard of those?

  • If I was you I would never even think about selling it. Those are really rare, and expensive if you can find one.

  • id never sell it, it has a realy great sound to it,like someone mixed a strat with a les paul,a realy unique sound,if you know what i mean.

  • dose it have a transtrem or just a tremolo?

  • Transtrem.

  • Where can i buy one of those bridges??

    i need one real bad

i made my own headless guitar

    neck-thru walnut

  • i never figured out how to tune these probably cuz i didnt buy one

  • I'm just commenting on the part of the CLEAR headless for cheap. Yea this guy sells them on ebay and I almost bought one until I contacted a guy who left positive feedback that bought one. He told me that it it's all the same thing but the action need work on carving the cavity where the tremolo system goes. It's a big risk but if you can do it. Than you save big money. But It's too big of a risk for me. But has Anyone tried those cheap Ktone clear or black guitars? the cheap ones? Are they ok?

  • really cool....i've been trying to get my hands on a steinberger but the're hard to get in Europe.... there is a German make called 'Hohner' who do a similiar model thats been liscenced by steinberger...have you ever heard of them???

  • I've held a Hohner in my hands before and could not see any difference between them and Steinberger Spirit GT Pro. I did some research on the internet, and read somewhere where a guy had posted that the GT Pro and the Hohner were the same guitar built in the same factory with the same materials. I can't confirm that , but it could easily be true.

  • hmmm....i wouldn't be suprised if they were made at the same factory.... i'm very interested in the Hohner since Steinbergers are hard to attain over here...thanks for the info

  • Great overview. Just saw Allan Holdsworth over the weekend and he played a Steinberger for the whole show. Having a guitar survive water is cool though. The late Rory Gallagher's Strat experienced water damage too at one time.

  • You're right having it survive was cool, I gave my son an eighties model Peavey Bass 2 days before the storm and it was destroyed. He was in a second floor apartment and thought that the water wouldn't get that high. They had 32 feet of water there.

  • i like it cause it seems really portable my question is how heavy is it? like 2pounds?

  • Please forgive me for not getting back to you sooner. I'm still trying to fix my house, and it takes quite a bit of my time. My Steinberger is 5 lbs. 2oz.. They made some of these out of graphite, and I guess that those may be lighter, but at $2000 each I'll never find out.

  • awsome

  • do you have to turn the "micro" tuners alot more hten regular tuners to tune up the string?

  • No not at all. It's a completely different mechanical action, like apples and oranges, but you won't be spending all day turning tuners. You will however not be able to use a string winder. I think that's what you call them. The little crank thing that people use when installing strings.

  • If this Steinberger lacks a headstock, can anybody tell me how you tune it? Cheers

  • I tried to show it in the video, but without having it in your hand, it's hard to see. It has a ball on both ends and the tuners which are on the opposite end of the guitar pull the strings tight.

  • Ah, right! Cheers. I guess because it's made from graphite and stuff Ned Steinberger was trying to make a new wave guitar for a new generation, high tech tuning methods stuff like that, using materials that wouldn't harm the environment. I really like this Steinberger guitar, clever thinking (;

  • Oh right yeah, sorry, I realise you did show it in the video. I didn't watch that far before posting the comment. Thanks and nice vid! :D

  • its cool but to 80's retro lol i like them there different but i still love the head, epiphone sg310 hell yes..cheers..

  • hey sam ash sells d'addario's that are double ball ends

  • wish i knew how it sounded jack.

  • Just picked up a new Steinberger GT-Pro Deluxe from Musicians Friend ($399) ... and some official Steinberger light calibrated strings.

Just curious ... anyone know what the difference between the calibrated and non-calibrated strings are?

... also picked up a set of Seymour Duncan Blackouts to replace the stock pickups with.

  • Calibrated really doesn't make a difference, it's just a buzz word, but I would assume it is "custom" tailored to the steinberger type design, however any other string probably works just the same.

  • has a string ever popped out of the top of the neck? not sure what the top is called...

  • Never Never. The design of the way the string pops in has completely imposiblized that situation. However while spazin' out I have broke some strings. If you had it in your hand you could that the strings can't come out from either end while installed.

  • steeeeiiin....burger....

  • anyway you could do a vid on setting up the Spirit?

  • I was going to do this, but I been so busy, and I couldn't find the little instruction sheet. My guitar probably needs it again. Its been probably 5 years since I set this one up, and a lot's happened since then.

  • lmao, 2:10, "the end that don't got a ball on it."

  • Lmao I know

  • the end that got no ball on it hahahahahaha

  • Nice vid, nice guitar, im thinking of building one!

  • Thanks

  • my dad workded for stienberger when they were only black like that and i have a guitar and bass steinberger

  • My dad worked as a Sears Repairman, so all I got was 2 Refrigerators, 8 Washing Machines A Dryer, 3 Microwaves, and an Oven. I guess that ain't so bad. I used the money that I saved on appliances to buy all of my guitars.

  • i heard these are really light wieght guitars. are they light compared to a les paul?

  • Don't have the exact figures, but it feels like about half the weight of my strat knock off and my semi hollow body.

  • i have no choice now but to buy one. haha

  • If weight is a REALY big issue, don't get the 300 dollar steinberger, get the 3000 dollar one. They're made of graphite. I was going to get the graphite model, but the music store wouldn't take food stamps.

  • hahah ya im too poor as well. :(

  • Think those finish cracks have a story in history behind them. It still lives after Katrina and being under water. I'd keep it if I were you. There is all kinds of new guitars out there but they don't have that same story, "Cool." :D

  • how much is the guitar?

  • The last time that I saw them on the MusicYo site, I think that they were 323.00, but they no longer sell them and you have to find a dealer. I think they list the dealers on the Steinberger web site.

  • By the way, If you do some research the name of the guitar is a Steinberger Spirit GT Pro. Hohner makes the same guitar, but I don't know what the call theirs.

  • All you need to play the blues are a pair of shoes and a guitar :)

Yeah Big ones are the buckers

  • Keep that guitar. Being in katrina gives it a soul, and usually stuff like that makes you more attached to it

  • From now on that will be my excuse for keeping it. Up untill now the excuse was always poverty.

  • They call the middle pick up a single coil
