Playing this game was fun i loved how on the last boss when he jumped into the air the* A* button was flashing i pressed it and a FLEW INTO THE AIR it was a leap of greatness.......
Everyone seems to recall ocarina of time more frequently than majora's mask, doesn't anyone remember how amazing that was? I'd say it's superior on all accounts.
@Cacmypants well OoT is what most of the zelda games are being based off of now, WW being a type of sequel, TP being a sequel, the upcoming skyward sword being a prequel, and well you get the idea.
not just that, OoT is the glitchiest and most breakable zelda game ever made ^_^ and the story is so memorable, so thats kinda the reason why OoT is more recalled and known than MM, not just that, MM is sort of the oddball in the LoZ series, i still love it though
@Cacmypants well ocarina of time was the first 3d zelda game, it kind of set the bar and was awesome especially for back then. majoras mask was basically the same as ocarina on the surface, even though its technologically more impressive that doesn't really translate into people liking it more. Plus it was kind of weird, people don't like when stuff strays too far from the norm, just like people were bitching about wind waker.
@boothesquirrel OOT introduced the potential, MM was the perfection. Yeah, you're right about people shunning change, games like wind waker and MM didn't appeal to as many people on the surface as OOT did, but this is why it annoys me when people go around proclaiming that OOT was THE best game, when it was simply the most popular.

@FatOscar0 I'd say the mario party games have become too complicated since 1-3, lolol, but yeh, I realise things that come first are more widely recognised (e.g. Ebay, Amazon, Google etc). It's almost always the case in regard to popularity. We shouldn't confuse popularity for quality. Nostalgia also plays a massive role; it can easily warp our perception.
@boothesquirrel i feel like a lot of people are the same way with the final fantasy series, everyone looooooves 7 but in my oppinion 8 was a much better game than seven and had a far more interesting storyline and cast of characters, plus the graphical improvements from 7 to 8 were outstanding 6 is my favorite tho

There's meant to be two timelines right? And Wind Waker is meant to be in the child one? Then why are they talking about the Hero of Time if in the child timeline OoT Link supposedly never became the hero of time? Or am I missing something here and looking like a twit?
@coleboy44 if the gods flooded hyrule after link came back in time then how did link saved hyrule from ganondorf 7 years later in OoT? Storyline at the end of OoT is something like this "OoT starts, after young link gets OoT he goes to Termina to find Navi that he lost somehow, when he gets back he does his part of the spirit temple, pulls the master sword. 7 years later adult link is kicking and goes to defeat ganondorf. unreleased game=hyrule is flooded several years later, and THEN windwaker.

Basically, if you read the story you should know that windwaker's word is actually Hyrule's mountaintops. I think the map also says "Hyrule" in the middle.

Im trying to find a time count on the fastest playthru of this game, i ended up with 4 hours 21 minutes and 8 seconds including the cutscenes, and credits
@ktsjr15 Did you use cheats or are you just lying? I got 6:42 in a single segment speed run once. I started the time when you can move Link the first time (where Aryll wakes you) and ended when I stabbed Ganondorf in the head. That was a new WR but the video has some errors so it can't be played.
Single Segment means you play through the game in one sitting without saving.
@Socks312 The best I've ever seen is how to beat the running man in OoT XD.
The thing is, you have to talk to him to start the race, put back the sword to turn into young link, go to the finish line "some bridge in lost woods, accessible from hyrule fields" then leave your n64 or emulator running for one real-time week, equaling 7 in-game years. After that week the running man arrives and says you beat him by a second. There'S a youtube vid of it.
@GLUMFACEIDIOT if you mean by emulator, I'm pretty sure no gamecube emulators exists to this day (probably because its too recent to be emulated...yet, anyway)

When you beat the game, and play the same file again, the Hero's Clothes turn invisible to you, you understand Hylian language, and some other people in the world have different clothes, in example, Aryll now has a Skull dress.
@Qbro618 In the first playthrough, you get the actual green clothes that are called "the hero's clothes". As an additionnal "bonus" to playing the game a 2nd time on the same save, the "Hero's clothes" are invisible, thus you get to play Link in pajamas during the whole 2nd playthrough,

The final time of my run that doesn't excist anymore was 6:10. The routes have changed and a few new timesavers have been discovered. So hopefully I'll get a sub 6 hours.

@Skies17 TSA is not a person, it refers to the type of speed run this is. Which is a Tool Assisted Speed run, meaning he used a machine to assist in performing feats of inhuman reflex and ability.

i like that how after the majoras mask the game split into two paths, the wind waker path and the twilight princess path, the wind waker tree is reaching its third branch and the twilight princess into 2nd
I didn't say it was. After Ocarina of Time, Link gos back to relive his childhood, which is where Majora's Mask picks up. But in the timeline in which Link left, Ganon has returned but there is no one to stop him. That's where Wind Waker gets its backstory. Twilight Princess isn't a continuation to any game, just within one of those separate timelines.
majoras mask is another branch of ocarina of time... it says in the beginning of windwaker that ganondorf took over hyrule after link left for... uhhhh... dont remember what its called right? and the 7 sages in twilight princess said they captured ganondorf and was gonna send him to another world, true? and how do you think that GOT ganondorf? well ill tell you. they used their powers (again) and aptured ganondorf and then after several years the were gonna banish him.
I said Majora's Mask branched off of Ocarina of Time. And I'm not really understanding what you're saying. What I'm saying is that after OoT Majora's Mask is in a seperate timeline as Wind Waker. In the Wind Waker timeline there's Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass follows right after, now there's Spirit tracks. Twilight Princess doesn't branch off anything, it's just within one of those timelines.
No, It's a distant sequel to Ocarina of Time. In the end of Ocarina of Time, Link travels back in time to relive his childhood, like Wind Waker's past says. And then Ganon comes back, but there's no Link to stop him, because he went back, and then left, where Majora's Mask picks up. Ask any Zelda fan, and they'll tell you the same.

What is with the heros clothes? I dont get it

When you beat the game, and play the same file again, the Hero's Clothes turn invisible to you, you understand Hylian language, and some other people in the world have different clothes, in example, Aryll now has a Skull dress.

@Qbro618 if you beat the game, you can redo it with the pj's you start with at the beginning.

@Qbro618 In the first playthrough, you get the actual green clothes that are called "the hero's clothes". As an additionnal "bonus" to playing the game a 2nd time on the same save, the "Hero's clothes" are invisible, thus you get to play Link in pajamas during the whole 2nd playthrough,

That could be the reason. This WR was beaten by me in March 2008 but no videos of it excist anymore so I'm doing a new one.
lolilops54 and DRybes are also doing speed runs of this game. We're aiming to get a sub 6 hours.

The final time of my run that doesn't excist anymore was 6:10. The routes have changed and a few new timesavers have been discovered. So hopefully I'll get a sub 6 hours.

@Skies17 It's from "Four Swords Adventure", "Classic Zelda", "Links Awakening" "A link to the past", and so on from older games before "Ocarina of Time". I'm sorry to say that the name escapes me at the moment though, but I can tell those games have this as the start theme.

@Skies17 TSA is not a person, it refers to the type of speed run this is. Which is a Tool Assisted Speed run, meaning he used a machine to assist in performing feats of inhuman reflex and ability.

i like that how after the majoras mask the game split into two paths, the wind waker path and the twilight princess path, the wind waker tree is reaching its third branch and the twilight princess into 2nd

No, after Ocarina of Time it splits into 2 paths, the Wind Waker path and the Majora's Mask path.

I didn't say it was. After Ocarina of Time, Link gos back to relive his childhood, which is where Majora's Mask picks up. But in the timeline in which Link left, Ganon has returned but there is no one to stop him. That's where Wind Waker gets its backstory. Twilight Princess isn't a continuation to any game, just within one of those separate timelines.

majoras mask is another branch of ocarina of time... it says in the beginning of windwaker that ganondorf took over hyrule after link left for... uhhhh... dont remember what its called right? and the 7 sages in twilight princess said they captured ganondorf and was gonna send him to another world, true? and how do you think that GOT ganondorf? well ill tell you. they used their powers (again) and aptured ganondorf and then after several years the were gonna banish him.

I said Majora's Mask branched off of Ocarina of Time. And I'm not really understanding what you're saying. What I'm saying is that after OoT Majora's Mask is in a seperate timeline as Wind Waker. In the Wind Waker timeline there's Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass follows right after, now there's Spirit tracks. Twilight Princess doesn't branch off anything, it's just within one of those timelines.

No, It's a distant sequel to Ocarina of Time. In the end of Ocarina of Time, Link travels back in time to relive his childhood, like Wind Waker's past says. And then Ganon comes back, but there's no Link to stop him, because he went back, and then left, where Majora's Mask picks up. Ask any Zelda fan, and they'll tell you the same.
