Inoue is never in the way. When she thought Ichigo&rukia was a couple.

Ichigo did not have romantic feelings for rukia. He threw her to Renji after saving her. Guys would not push their girl to another man.

Rukia treat Ichigo as her brother. She's not only see Kaien in him, she also see Renji (lots of hints in manga)

That's why she push Ichigo to face Inoue after Yammy incident. for she's not gonna to let him have any regrets she herself went through before

Let them be, there is no bigger blind that he who does not want to see XDD. Even me, a GREAT IchiHime fan, see the points many IchiRuki supporters can raise to support their pairing, but there are many more hints pointing towards IchiHime than towards IchiRuki.
