@hildiguru, @silverbiscuit is right... I've lived in Iceland all my live and there is NO WAY that Iceland is the hottest of these countries that you said....
I agree with you silverbiscuit and I live in Iceland. hildiguru is probably a 12 year old who obviously has no clue how warm the summer gets in other parts of europe
that is no surpride! there is not all over with snow you know! there are very hot summers with heatwaves.. but on the other hand the winter is very cold... but Iceland is not like everybody thinks it is.. full of eskimos and ice!
@hildiguru Very hot? OK, sometimes it is warm in Iceland, for sure, but I think only Icelanders (or other Northern Europeans) would classify it as very hot.
Plus only ignorant people think that Iceland is full of eskimoes and ice! Most of us útlendingar are not that clueless, honest.
Yeah? What should you know about it? I have been her for almost 19 years and seen every summer and winter, and in fact, of all the nothern countries ( Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway...) and Germany, Netherlands and Britain and Ireland, Iceland is the hottest or as you wold like to call it "warmest" county of them all! :)
That's just not true. The average max July temperature (i.e. daytime temperature) since records began is 25 degrees in England and 10-13 in Iceland (but only the southern parts). The highest recorded in England is 38 (7 years ago) and in Iceland 30 (in the 1930s). You may have had some bad summers in other countries but it's completely wrong to say that Iceland is hotter than Britain. Don't get me wrong - I like a cooler climate, which is one of the reasons I like Iceland so much.
Im sorry but I should know better, I have lived in Iceland for almost 19 years and I should know the weather here! And yeah, it has been talked about alot that right now Iceland is the warmest!!!! And it has extremely hot summers, it is not cold like all other countries like pepole from other countries think!!!!! That is just ignorant
Living in Iceland doesn't give you the authority to make stuff up, and it doesn't mean you know better than the meteorological stats. I'm sure you are familiar with Icelandic weather, but you must be deranged if you refuse to recognise the truth. I don't need to live in Iceland to know that it is not as hot as Britain, because scientists record these things. It's like you're arguing that Iceland is bigger than France - it's just scientifically false.
For instance, 'right now' in Reykajvík it's 7° and in Edinburgh it's 11°. There's literally nothing to argue about, Britain has a warmer climate than Iceland: fact. My only point was that someone from much further south than Iceland would not consider Icelandic summers hot. If the average July temp in Iceland is 10-13° (and it IS) then a Greek or Italian (someone from outside the North, like I said) would think it was really cold! This isn't controversial or a slur on Iceland!
@silverbiscuit well it is true that it is warmer than britnain,I'm not going to argue with you, if you don't want to accept it it is your problem, than I will just know that I know better and you can stay stubborn and beliving your own thoughs, I am done fighing, I know better and I don't need you to tell me I am wrong ! :)
@hildiguru You're on drugs mate. There is no fight. There is one person who has looked up some basic scientific information and there is one person who thinks that if you believe it hard enough then 10 will be a bigger number than 25. By the way, it's currently 12° hotter than Reykjavík where I am. But obviously that's colder in your head. Brr.
