great update man! happy to see all this stuff. you ever consider moving your slamander to a cooler part of your house? like a basement? they really shouldnt be in temperatures above 65-73 degrees.
@Chriscross108 hmm. well you've had that sally for a long time so you probably have a good feel for it. but if your room really gets up to 90 id find a cooler place.
@Chriscross108 My apologies for asking another question(course, you won't even have to answer ) Not sure if this is wrong to ask(sorry if it is), but how do you earn the money to keep all those animals, and how much would it cost to raise them? I don't think I can go beyond 300$ a year...
@dinomanj well yeah it does matter.... It's a little sadistic to feed a baby animal to a animal Alive.. luckily it's illegal here in the U.K, Which Is a very good thing! plus it's healthier for the animal if there frozen as if there are any bacteria on/in them there killed by the temperature!
@exoinverts1234 Not all bacteria are killed by freezing. Sure, it's better to feed FT, but what about the snakes that usually eat live baby animals in the wild, why is it not sadistic when they eat?
@jxz107 yes all bacteria is killed in freezing and It's sadistic because you knowingly go out buy a innocent animal and then watch it die! when they eat it the wild no ones there to watch or video, it's not the animal being sadistic it's the human watching!
@exoinverts1234 Do you even research these things? Ever heard of Salmonella? Many species of bacteria simply go dormant, or are already numerous, so when they thaw, they either multiply rapidly, or they become reactive.
So why aren't you commenting on NG vids of animals eating each other? Not all people watch animals die for sexual gratification/fun. Some watch because it's fascinating how nature created such a creature.
@exoinverts1234 National Geographic. I never said live has less, I'm saying that many bacteria are killed by the snake's stomach acids. Viruses? Maybe, but far, far less than bacteria. Do some reasearch, please.
@exoinverts1234 What about crickets man, no one cares about them! See, people never care about those, but they're still living creatures.
Or lower life forms like fungi, I'm pretty sure no one thinks it's sadistic to prune them or cut them up. But they're still life, it doesn't matter if they're lower life forms. Yet we still see sharks finned alive, and lobsters boiled alive.
@jxz107 crickets are a pest species with only basic instinct so not many do care about them as they don't really have any feeling or are capable of affection!
@exoinverts1234 Just because they're pests to humans with basic instinct doesn't mean their lives mean less to higher animals. The only reason a human would prefer other humans or higher animals over other animals, is that they are easier to socialize with.
is that youre room to?! or is it just a pet room?
