She has an amazing talent, I'm glad she chose to use it for God. Her songs are fun to sing and listen to. As for haters, meh, I figure her song tells us the answer to that. Just take a minute to think about what it means when she sings "for those He came to save." Notice, no specification. He saved them, too, even if they are too critical. anelidok just likes to push buttons, I doubt he hurt Sandi's feelings at all. =-D God bless.

Sandi Patty is one of my favorite female artists, her range is remarkable and she uses it to praise the Lord. I like this rendention of 2 of my favorite Hyms of Praise.

My first impression was "too fast, too modern".

But as I listened I realized it was just that I was used to hearing it much slower and I came to appreciate the energy of the slighter faster tempo.

After all one wouldn't sing "stand up, stand up for Jesus" at a very slow tempo. I see nothing wrong with the added energy put into this wonderful old hymn. It was truly raising a praiseful noise onto the Lord.

it is a march....tempo is great...too many old hymns are sung so slowly. I grew up with an organist that made the music move and it makes for a service that moves.

The problem is that the Gospel itself isn't about being "hip", "cool", "relevant", or "seeker friendly": it's about conforming oneself to the example of Christ through embracing His atonement and taking up our cross daily in following Him. No one "relates" to that naturally-and the unsaved will only be "reached" through the power of the Holy Spirit. Gimmicks employed to peddle it only cheapen it.

I think we need to be careful about how we bandy about the name of the Holy Spirit! The spirit may be acting in this church, but one song does not a Pentecost make. Too many churches describe everything from adding a ramp entrance to buying a piano as "the spirit moving."

This "worship & praise song", "churchy-tainment", "Seven-Eleven Song", or whatever you wish to term the trend to dumb it all down so the dimwits in the pews can digest it can be found not only in music, but in the so-called "sermons" presented.Theological substance is avoided. 2nd This is a variation of a HYMN! The very style that is being kicked out to in attempts to reach a new generation of people (PS most of them are from YOUR generation's kids - while they were off making careers, making big names for themselves, coming off of the buzz they had kids in between!) I LOVE old hymns especially with a phenomenal organist is behind it. If you're going to be a good critic then provide an example of good solid worship.

Elvis Presley sang many beautiful gospel songs and he was an entertainer. His gospel music has brought many to Christ. So we should not put down other Christians worship, because it is all for the Glory of our God. And God works through many different avenues.

I am an American, and I couldn't agree with you more! I remember going to a Sandy Patty concert during her heydey in the 1980's and feeling like it had no worship, no authenticity. It was staged by media moguls for maximum commercial value. America is the most commercialized nation on earth, and so much of it occurs in religion, of all things.

Well -it's hard to get excited listening to this drivel,when you've had the priviledge of singing the masters .Bach ,Brahms Handel-great choral singing,great soloists,orchestra.I'm not religious,but that music, when performed brings one thoughtfulness and a stiring soul. Singing is not the only form worship - worship is something you do everyday with your walk.

If this is sinful to you then what is this suppose to look like? Why not put back the restrictions the Roman Catholic Church put on its organist on what stops to pull on what days in the year during mass? How about only singing music made up of Perfect 5th's to demonstrate God's perfection? Tell us what kind of box do you want us to put our talent in so that it looks like we're holy?
