  • This is great! It is like each of your phrases are pieces to a puzzle, and although the pieces themselves don't look anything alike, they all fit together perfectly and make a beautiful picture. Both of you have helped a LOT with my playing, and I can't thank you enough.

  • @MrJazz1024 I appreciate your comment, thanks.

  • A Gift of The youtube piano Gods. Ha! Great, not to forget Volvoxburger.!!! ;-)

  • Absolutely wonderful I almost jumped up and applauded at the end. You guys are masters of your art.

  • You guys have been such a massive help and inspiration for so many pianists. I'm a classical piano teacher with no experience of jazz improvisation; for me to be able to download your pdf files has been a God-send. Very best wishes from England.

  • @swirls999 Thanks much for the nice comment.

  • 3 questions = 1. how did you do that walking bassline?

    2. when you are comping what are the principals behind your chord construction (your voicings are different everytime (ie fourths then thirds then other shapes)?

    3. When yur are comping behind your self what voicings do you use and when do you play the chord?

  • 7notemode is rafa benitez, except infinately more joyful to listen to

  • I'm pretty you already know the great job you're doing, let's remind it once again. It's incredible what both youtube and jazz music are capable of doing, every time i hear a standard from you, i can see you play it with both technique and emotion just the way it is meant to be played. Jazz fans among youtube are grateful, so am i as a jazz musician. Keep doing it, I hope we can jam someday.

    Andrés P.

  • between them with the help of youtube, these two have done more for the world of jazz music than most college departments in 10 years. I respect them both greatly and the amount of time they have dedicated to selflessly spreading the knowledge of jazz. -alexander j olden

  • @ajolsen4544 Awesome comment, greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • @ajolsen4544 I didn't even know they knew each other. You are 100% correct. I've learned a lot from these two... volvoxburger and JC as well... but sadly their accounts are closed.

  • @Vthov Yes, I was sorry to see their accounts closed - now there is less2learn. :-(

  • Hearing and seeing you guys play together was pleasantly frustrating!!!

  • @StarO2009 Thanks for your comment. ;-)

  • ¿seres humanos?.

  • What great voicing at the beginning of the track, bye Lot2Learn!!!!

  • OMG I love it ! Can someone please explain the vibing inwhich is going on from 3:40-3:50

  • This performance demonstrates the musical individuality of each of you, while also illustrating the spontaneity and interaction at the heart of jazz. Clearly you two made the most of your time. A fun video! Thanks!

  • listening to you guys is simultaneously inspiring and depressing - you are both amazing! Awesome session and great tutorial vids - keep em coming!

  • @movingtodefcon2 Thanks for your comment.

  • I like autumn leaves a bit more over Stella duo... I think in Stella you are sometimes speaking both at the same time. Well anyways of course both of the tunes are simply amazing dont get me wrong incredible job! I would love to play that way one day. I believe there is no better job than to do what you guys do :)

  • Nice performance. thanks for the help and ideas. shame you guys only had an hour.

  • @jackmcl88 Thanks for your comment. Yes more time would have been nice. ;-)

  • Thanks to you both for sharing your talent! Your videos always motivate me to keep playing the piano when I lose inspiration. Thanks again!

  • @KMedina619 Thanks for your comment

  • When I saw this video listing I couldn't wait to listen to it. Needless to say I was not disappointed. So well done gentleman. Everytime I watch and listen to either of you talented men I feel compelled to go practice.

You are always inspiring and I appreciate the fact that you share your gifts with us all.

    Bravo gentlemen, bravo!!!!

  • @mrmusicplz I appreciate your comment.

  • You should both be wearing satin-blue shirts with white collars, and frilled cufflinks, white wiggs and the keys are golden and black. The windows are open with views on the gardens, of Versailles, the music flooding out and shifting down the terrasses and out into the countryside. The piece shouldn't have stopped, It was just too superb. Thank you. With best greetings Alan, from Berlin

  • 4:46 to 4:55 fantastic

  • Dear Sweet Jesus, God the Father, the "Holy Spirit"., Precious Virgin Mary (mother of Jesus, All them Saints, Maryters that Died for the Faith AND HERE COMES TWO MORE OF THE FINEST ON YTUBE, what a treat guys ! • @ddferris Thanks Dave!

  • Lot2learn--I like your use of the E natural over the G minor chord, just like Miles. The major sixth over a minor chord is a great sound.

  • very very great.

and good models to every piano listener

  • @jacquesCaroli merci beaucoup!

    MC

  • @MiCompre Thank you.

  • I would like to request the mental playback of what you guys thought about after having all this fun and went back to work. Shame, shame, couldn't you have called in sick today? The exchange of such extrodinary skill and talent you both have is overwhelming. Sharing with the rest of us is more than I can express in words at this moment. I am touched having viewed such magnificence and here I thought today was a good "pond & lilly day', not to mention there are new baby goldfish dueting.

  • @pianonate86 Thanks!

  • @bluesforU2 Thanks for your comment.

  • That's Autumn Leaves in G-. Why was that an unusual key?

  • I normally don't comment, but it is just so awesome to see two of youtube's best keys players let loose together in the same room! Thanks guys.

  • @matttai Your comment is greatly appreciated!

  • Really excellent as always

If you find a good bassist / drummer

you wouyld do great world tours togethe

    5****** and UP

  • Congratulations to both of you. It is not easy to pull off an unrehearsed piano duet as successfully as this with so much variety in style. Highlights for me were at 4:42 where both of you played freely and the 'stop time' section at 6:23 and the final chorus.

  • Thanks Doug! Yes, we had fun. I guess now I have to figure a way to plan a trip to Ocean Grove. ;-)

  • I like this mix of electric and acoustic pianos; it is so much more relaxed than would be two acoustics fighting for space.

  • @paulwwells I agree. I really like the combination.

  • thanks for sharing this.. i just subscribed to 7note.. cheers

  • haha.. aweseome! i see some awesome Bill Evans autumn leaves unision playing licks in there! luv it

    Saludos from Chile.

  • Amazing. Nice collaboration. Lot2lLearn your left hand swings hard.

  • Guys, I have to say it was an incredible experience playing the keys w/ Roger. He locks in like a vice grip and swings like crazy! What I especially liked about this all too brief jam session is that there was no prep and it was totally spontaneous. Thanks Roger for taking the time to stop by!

  • @7notemode...and thank you for getting everything together on 2 days notice to pull this off - I had a blast!!

  • This is too cool, guys! I hope you'll be able to collaborate on a few more songs.

I'll be the first to buy the CD!
