Hey! I done the same thing, but on my trial flight. I have got my first flying less on saturday, do you think i could taxy the plane? We have a mudstrip here. Also, I don't know about you, but when we were taxying and about to take off, i felt abit nervous, but i tell ya what, when we got in the air, WOW! Just... WOW! It was an AMAZING FEELING! :D Nice video.
just yesterday I went up in the same plane and at sleap was like you said beyond words cant wait to start my PPL there all the best with your career in aviation.
@papcrap2 You went up in G-BOIR? Its been out of service :S. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, which instructor were you with? And when are you hoping to start your PPL? :)
@Criscocheeseman200 sorry after I posted I realised it was G-BILR saw it in /watch?v=S1xu9-1CJug at 1:33 I went up with Keith, and I am not sure when I am starting I need to get the finance side of things sorted really soon I hope I cant even play FSX any more its just not the same again all the best, cameron
@papcrap2Ah right, I've never been in BILR I'm usually in G-BNKS. I flew today actually, I'm at 9 hours now and starting circuit training :D. Yeah the finance is definitely something to keep on top of as it can get a bit tight! And Keith is a good instructor (mind you they are all good in my opinion), I flew with him a couple of weeks ago. Haha I agree, I have FSX but haven't used it for months (mostly because of college work though)! Hope you get started soon, I might see you there sometime :D
I decided to invest in my own headset. I just bought a cheap one from AFE. I think it was about £80-100 and it has served me well so far. I also bought my own fuel tester and checklist which is a good idea if you want to complete the preflight checks in a short amount of time. Hopefully will see you around at the club sometime in the near future.
@n425tuj Ah right, I think Im going to get a headset then. Ive got the fuel tester and checklist in the PPL Study Pack which is good, Im getting hang of the preflight checks already :D. Yeah hopefully see you too, Im up there the next two or three Tuesdays for a lesson but after that its probably going to change.
Re previous post to me, currently at 22 hours and fly with Rob, John or Keith depending on which day I manage to get down to the airfield. Not flown since June but hoping to get back up soon!
@n425tuj Ah right, I fly with John Nightingale at the moment but I'm going to have to change in September because I'll only be able to fly Saturdays or Sundays because of college. Its a real shame because John is a great teacher, I'd love to carry on with him! Im at 3 hours now - did my first full control takeoff on tuesday too, it felt amazing and went really well luckily xD. Just out of interest, do you use the clubs headsets or do you have your own pair? Chris
@rosst210131 And I forgot to say in the first post, Its amazing how they let us Taxi, and control for most of the flight !
I mean, Im 14 (15 in september) and not alot of people can say that they flew a plane at 14 years old :P well a few of us can ! I was in a PA28-121, Amazing aircraft.
@rosst210131 Yeah same, thats why i didnt want to take much video up there! Where do you fly? Ive got my next lesson on Tuesday, should be up to three hours by then xD. Are you doing your PPL? I am - nothing better than adding hours to your logbook!
@rosst210131 Awesome - not like Sleap then, its busy but only with GA aircraft xD. Im 16, so its pretty cool to say Im flying planes before I start driving next year xD. So how many hours are you at now? And I take it you want to go commercial :D
Great video. I am doing PPL at Sleap too. Went solo in April and on the navigation part at the moment. Best get my act together and get the exams done!!
@JKAJENKO Oh cool, Im carrying on with PPL training there next month! Its a great airfield isnt it? Plus it only takes me about 10 mins to get there :)
I know GCSE's! Grr :\ Pretty much most of it, Stalls, Steep turns, Climbing, Descending, And now practising for my Solo by doing Circuits. How many lessons have you had?
Trust me, I'll be jealous when you do yours xD!! And yeah we looked at the dimensions of flight and our route :) Hopefully going back there for a second lesson soonish :D. And thanks, It took me a while to do xD
@Criscocheeseman200 So what you had to do, like looking at the dimensions of the flight and route, is it hard to do? and also, what do you mean by dimensions?
Well, dimensions of flight meaning the three axis (basically pitch bank and yaw or elevators, ailerons and rudder) of flight. It was all pretty simple actually (but remember you do it at a simple level)! He said I had a knack for flying but trust me it isnt that daunting as long as you trust the plane and instructor. The best thing though was feeling the plane whilst flying; you can feel each little movement through the yoke! Trust me, save up for nothing else but this! You will love it man!
Oh right xD sorry just thought it was a bit childish for someone who has been flying for 23 years. Anyway, you should post some videos up of you flying.......
Ooh one thing, when using the FMC in real flights, at what point during the flight do you program the flap and speed settings for a standard descent? Just wanted to know for a new video :)
Hey, it went great; the best thing I have ever done!! There is more information in the 'more info' bit to the right now, sorry about before the video must have uploaded without any info or tabs! :) Trust me, you need to look into getting a trial (or Discovery) flight; you will love it!
Hoow old were you when you started?
