I'm reading this book now, a few pages left, and its one of the best books i have read in a long time. I am tugging through all of Grisham's books and this is one of the last ones left.
Every now and then we find little movie gems like this one. This is one of the reasons why I still didn't gave up on movies. Go watch it if you haven't!
If you have read the novel or seen this movie, just remember this: JOHN GRISHAM LIES ABOUT LAW! It is nowhere NEAR as exciting as this. Rudy lucks out that his first case is so lucrative that he can retire on it, where's the years of wading through traffic whiplash and pavement slab trips?
@lakshmimittal It was pretty clear from the book that he did luck out. The description of his best friend's wardrobe paints a pretty realistic picture, don't you think?
Does anyone know who is the voice who is heard over at 01:44 and after? I have heard him in a lot of trailers I think. I havent watched the movie, but I will surely gonna. :)
I've read a handful of his books, still haven't watched any of the movies yet (not sure why I don't right now on netflix) .. Can anyone list the movies by heart? Instead of me asking google. :)
The health care system needs fixin' for sure. After all those years since the book was written. Insurance companies are pure evil. Make the right choice Republicans!
@10ccalanarkush insurance companies are evil (rainmaker ) drugs companies are evil (constant gardener) weapon companies are evil (runaway jury) tabacco companies are evil (the insider ) financial companies are evil (wall street) car company are evil (fight club ) . I hope you don't take every movie at face value , otherwise everyone is pretty much out of business .
Everyone are already pretty much out of business. Don't fool yourself: employers - specially the ones behind the deep pocket companies you mentioned - only care about their profit, and not with the employees, and the consumers, that contibute to that profit. You, me, and the remaining 90% of the population, are just assets, in the hands of high-stakes gamblers, for whom life has to be lived fast, selfishly and with total disregard for humanity. And that needs to be denounced.
My father brought home a box of used books his boss gave him and in it i found this book, i am currently reading it as i have nothing better to do during summer, and i came upon this trailer. so far its getting really interesting. im watching this movie afterwards.
great movie im now reading the book but for some reason i picture chris o'donnell as a better actor for rudy baylor. he has more emotion when playing a character than matt damon although damon is a pretty damn good actor. just think o'donnell would have been better.
How do we know when a lawyer doesnt tell the truth? He moves his lips. Whats the difference between a lawyer and a whore? The whore, when you're dead, fuck you stop. All crazy for jokes about lawyers. Especially the lawyers will be proud of. Why do you?
Great movie.
Once again are you sure you want to become a lawyer ?
I loved Rourke in this. Why didn't this role get him more decent parts? Spun was good and then Sin City but he should have been working much more.FU hollywood.
i read the book to, an see now at first time the Trailer, and the Actors for the Persons are so great with dannydevido and matt damon . I wanna see this movie~!
im still reading the book, but i was amazed with the trailer, I was imagining how kelly look like but and i realized i was picturing claire danes! nice one! they all fit the description
duh, because the movie would've been 7 hrs long if they put every little detail in it. the average filmgoer can only stomach so many plotlines before they get confused and start throwing up their popcorn and soda. or maybe it's just plain ol, racism! take your pick.
It would be great if that one scene during the trial in which the juror jumps out of the box to go after Jon Voight's character was uploaded on here. That is my favorite moment in the whole movie.

Why would Voight have been in this? It doesnt paint insurance companies as gods amongst men.
