  • I'm doing this piece as one of many for my trombone grade 8, and it is a pain. xD But still a beautiful piece and a challenge. But again so painfully obviously written for cello. Those leaps are a lip killer!

  • Arghhh! It's so annoying when they play it in 415!

  • that is a carbon fiber cello.. a lewis and clark, I think... good heavens, is that what he is playing on this recording?

It sounds very nice, though I will not give up my Caron.

  • CARBON FIBER CELLO!!! YEAHHH

  • its rely beutifull

these modern chellos do sound rely good... i was eskeptical but they do sound rely good, like good chellos do

  • That looks for all the world just like the carbon fiber cellos in the carbon fibre cello video from hostroute. Round edges, no corners at the waist, sharp head, etc. The only wood on it is the bridge. I'm certainly no expert though. I just like to listen to him play the cello, whatever it's made out of!

  • @TheSideflip if it was the carbon fiber one, it cost $7,139.00 :D

  • hermoso cello!

  • It seems that you're quite wrong on this one alwaysright10000, Yo-yo Ma is one of the best contributions to the world regarding the cello, and Yundi Li is a magnificent pianist, he plays Fantasie Impromptu in C Sharp Minor and La Campanella, which are two of the most difficult pieces for the piano, masterfully and eloquently.

  • (chuckle) I'd forgotten I'd written that.

    I was fooling around.

You see, "alwaysright10000" is a kind of informal experiment in applied rhetoric, in which I tax my imagination to compose the most invidiously idiotic comments I can possibly think of -just to see how people respond and how they go about refuting my nonsense.

Believe it or not, this is an excellent and very economical way to gain insight into how people come to form beliefs, and how they come to accept or reject various ideas.

  • you need to get yourself a hobby

  • yeh like the cat with the blue moon in its feet?

  • Truth be told, I am agog that it's been a full week and only four 'thumbs down'.

  • What an intriguing way to think. I would have never guessed, but that's quite clever. An efficient way to get all those random comments out, I suppose. Very smart to have insight on random people as well.

  • is a 7k carbon fiber better than a 5k wooden cello

  • @danster3461 it all depends on the player :P

good cellists can even make a good sound out of cheap cellos :D

  • He's not playing outside (there are no echoes outside), so I'd make a guess that he's not actually using the cello in that picture.

  • probably not, but he does own one interestingly enough

  • OMG A BLUE CELLO

  • no its really a black cello! It just might have hit light in a way in this picture.

  • cool~a blue chello

  • Yeah, it's called the blue sky reflecting off it.

  • itd be pretty cool to have a blue cello....

  • what is special about a carbon fiber cello? cheerz

  • carbon fiber cellos are specially made to be played for outdoors because of the carbon fiber material, it is more protective against the weather rather then using a wood cello, the wood can be damaged either from rain, too much sun, and cold weather so carbon fiber cello is good to be played outdoors so that you don't have to damage your wood cello

  • lol google it or someting

  • it looks like he has his hair pulled back into a ponytail in this picture lol

  • A blue cello?!

  • A black and silver cello! These cellos are not cheap, and Luis make the best carbon fiber cellos in the world.

  • about 13000 dollars

  • no, it's just over 7000 dollars. it's a Luis and Clark carbon fiber cello. i don't think he's playing it in the recording though

  • carbon fiber cellos?

    Sounds cool! : )

  • thats a carbon fiber cello! nice ive always wanted to see one.

  • is that a carbon fiber cello in the picture?

  • I don't think so.

I am not sure this is Petunia(Stradivari) or not.

  • oh ok because it didn't sound like one

  • i thought petunia was montagnana?

  • is that so?

    thank you!!

  • Yes, it is a carbon fiber cello.

  • i'm not sure about the cello he used in the recording, but the one in the picture is actually a luis and clark carbon fiber cello. they make violins, violas, and double basses, too.

  • Yes, that's a fiber cello. U can tel by the texture.

  • @HPPcello2 Looks like it. You might notice the cello in the pictures doesn't have any corners on the sides like a normal cello. It's all smooth (not to mention black).

  • @HPPcello2 Yes.

  • @HPPcello2 It is a Luis and Clark carbon fiber cello in the picture

  • @HPPcello2

That is a Luis and Clark carbon fiber cello.

  • there are no rests written in the music, so, it is really just his interpretation

  • i love it, but it is too sofly played on a quite a few moments of the song, or are those pauses in the actaul chello musical piece?
