I always remember my two dobbs, Bento (1991-1995) and Pascal (1995-1998). They filled my childhood with joy and happiness. Even now I sometimes still dream about them. I believe in heaven and someday I will play with them again..
I had to look up info on CAH because I'm getting a dobe next month. The first and possibly only early sign is HEAVY DRINKING....lots of eating snow in winter or looking for other sources of water. At age 2, get your dobe's blood tested for CAH, and test annually till they are age 7. Later stage signs are vomiting, lethargy, and weight loss. If you wait until your dog's ribs are showing and he's napping all the time, then it is too late to treat.
I am so deeply sorry, and I know what you feel. I am a proud Doberman owner...and I lost my beloved Bianca 2 years ago. It still hurts every day. She had cardiomyopathy, but lived until she was 8. I tried to give her the greatest life I could. Everyday, I hope I did. I PRAY that she was as happy as she looked. I am 35, and the only TRUE heartbreak I have ever felt is when she died.
Our new Dobe is now almost 2, and doing great. Still, I will never forget Bianca!
this is a nice video but also sad! i myself lost my friend "Beefy" and still miss him and still cant believe he is gone! i made a video response to your video check it out! and RIP chino
Hey man. Beautiful Dobe, May he rest in peace. My doberman suffered from the CAH aswell, I did everything, Diet, Milk thistle, Meds, It didn't work. He was only 5 when he passed. I miss him dearly. Im really sorry for your loss, Im sure he is up there looking after you.
Hi there... I have seen your video before and I may have even posted a reply but can't be sure.... These little guys are great aren't they? We have a dobie girl that is 12+ and still looks like a youngster and has the mind of a puppy. Her lower back hurts her that I end up carrying her upstairs, outside, or whatever... we simply feel she has given us so much love and happiness, we are going to do whatever we can to make her comfortable... I admire your tribute and know exactly how you feel.
Mate awesome....he was lucky to have you as an owner....losing a pet is so hard....to me they are family nothing less....and I would spend my last cent trying to save them....just as long as they weren't in pain.
So sorry for your loss. Losing a dog is so painful. It is like losing a part of yourself when they go. It was bad enough for me losing our dogs and they all lived to grand old ages of 13-14. To lose your best buddy at such a young age is just heartbreaking. Take care
Hello mate. I bought a 3 month old Doberman, is a she. Her name is Cony and i hope she can lives as much as she can. Life is hard mate, i remember when i was 8 years old and my father bought me a Poodle and she stills alive until i was 23 years old, Can u imaginate that? A live mate. I still remember "Perlita", that was the name of her. So, doesnt matter i bought another dog and i know that maybe someday i going to see her die but, they are part of us and this is live mate, just have fun. Peace
OK, I've finished crying now I can post my comment. If you haven't already please get another dog, its people like you that deserve to share you love with one of Gods animals. You can look at Chino and tell he shared and felt the love. Our big boy passed 2 yrs ago, and we miss him more than anything, but we have been blessed with another great doberman Kamala.
I can tell chino was very happy with his family. I laughed at the picture with him wearing the antlers; he was looking over as if he was say what have i gotten myself into. Those look like precious moments. I think about my boxer;Boma and that brought back some memories. I had a doberman when I was sixteen ,: Lady she would not let me out of her sights and would stand between my girlfriend and me. She was very special. All dogs go to heaven.
What a beautiful one he was. I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree with everyone else that going on without my dog (Keyla) would be very very difficult. Beautiful video, beautiful tribute!
I lost my dobie last week at only 6 years old. Its unbearable. This is such a lovely video. I cant believe how much they steal your heart. Very sad : (
@lainymack My heart goes out to you. Our Lightning also passed at only 6 ; we still pine for her. (u-tube is Lightning-Flying High, done just a couple wks before she passed) They are indeed the most special dogs. No one but other Dobie owners seem to understand. Your dobie is waiting for you on the other side. Despite what people say Dobies are the most dedicated friends; they have but one owner or family and you were IT for yours! Bless you, Sweetie
I am so sorry for your loss. I recently almost lost my 2 Dobie from a foreign body surgery. Doctors gave him a less than 25% chance that he's live. But he's pulling through. I think everyone would agree that there is something about this breed that separates it from other dogs. I can't really explain it but it is as if they know more than we think they do. The Doberman is very kind, gentle, obedient, playful, independent and strong yet sensitive and eager to please. RIP Chino.
What a beautiful tribute to your Dobe. We just lost our 11 year old Spice a few weeks ago. She lived a long and happy life. She will be in our hearts forever, just like your Chino will be in yours.
beatifl job my friend i love dobermanns too...my beatiful dog died but I still can feel him with me...his name was Brave wherever he are i know I'll see him once again!!!
Love youir video. I know what u mean about missing him ? I had to put mine down because of kidney failure. He was 9 and a half yrs old. I seen yours was fairly young , if you don't mind me asking what happened to him ?
sorry about the dog. i started getting teary eyed because my dobie looks just like youres. i hope my dog "kaiser" outlives me. i would lose it if he dies.
wow man made me tear up thinking about how my dog had to be put to sleep he was diagnosed with some sort of cancer and lived about 2 years after that.
My red female, Zander, wore a pair of those reindeer antlers at Christmas, too! We lost her on January 30, 2003 to heart failure at only 4 1/2 years of age. It's been 7 years now, but it still hurts. When you bond with a doberman, it's for life.
OMG! I'M CRYING NOW! I know how you feel! We had a wonderful Doberman named Dobie. My brother rescued him from the street in Christmas 2000. He was skinny and his bones were showing. A few days later we found out he had heart worm and we nursed him back to health. We have him a loving home for 9 years. He passed away last June from Cancer and from arthritis. We still miss him so much! Chino was a beautiful dog! May he and Dobie R.I.P
wow,,,he was a pretty boy!,looks just like our red,"Targa". We had to put Targa down in '05,still miss him to this day...
What a great breed they are,we have been "owned" by 5 in our 32 years of marriage, but we now live in a Condo and Dobies are on the banned list,so we now have a" Manny"...( Manchester Terrior ) they look like a small version and have the same personality..........Rick
I was going to take a job in a city that did not like Dobes, and I told them the my Dobie was more important than their job in a city like that. I now live in a place where I take my Dobie to work with me. ... I guess I am saying there are other condos...
0:42 Man. That is bliss in its purest form right there. Dogs come and go, but the special thing about them is.. even though, in death, they can no longer be there to guard and comfort you in physical form.. they become that much more a part you, channeling themselves into you, standing as loyally strong in your mind and heart as they did at your side and home. It's a beautiful thing when you become all the more stronger because of it.
Always a sad day when one of our fur children passes. I lost a Dobe every spring 3 years in a row, Still have my red girl, 10 1/2 now. I will probably be a real basket case when she goes. Have you ever thought of adopting a rescue?
RIP Chino. We just lost our 6 yr old Dobie Lightning to cancer, and still frequently become tearful. We know how you feel. Blessings to you. Chino is waiting for you.
I know how you feel, i was little when we had to put our doberman Ranbo down. He was 11 years old, we had to put him down because he had internal bleeding, and we never found out why though. RIP Ranbo T^T
Chino was diagnosed with CAH. (Chronic Active Hepatitis) of the Liver. He was given a few months to live by the doctors. With medication, diet changes and vitamins he lasted another year and a half. I'm convinced he didn't suffer until his very last day.Its been more than 2 years now and I still miss him so much. What a fantastic dog. Thank you all for the kind words.
A doberman doesn't care if your rich or poor educated or illiterate clever or dull give him your heart and he will give you his.Dobermans has no use for fancy cars big homes or designer clothes. A water log stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?
i had a hard time w my show dobie when he was young gaining weight. i kept him on organic nutro pro n to gain weight i added bacon grease to his dry food. approved by vet, worked great, made a gorgous coat.
I just lost my female on Friday, December 26. She died young also. I'm not an emotional person... but I've been crying a lot the last several days. Thanks for the video... it helps to share the pain.
I am still crying. My heart goes out to you and your family I do understand what the loss means. They are such a big part of the family and it hurts just as bad as if you had lost a human member. What a heart touching video.
dobermanns have floppy ears but u can have a bit of wire put into the ear to make them stick up they do it to make dobermanns look more fierce apparently
btw sorry for ur loss he was goergous dunno wat id do with out mine! x
They do not put wire in their ears! The ears are cut (under anesthesia) and then they are trained to stand on their own by wrapping them from anywhere between a few weeks up to a year. It must be done early while they are still growing and before the cartilage in the ears set. Some dogs, in fact, can get their ears cropped and their ears never stand, which shows there is no wire in the ears.
i love my doberman to death!....thier the most loyal and sweetest dogs, and ive owned plenty other breeds but noting like a doberman. Hopefully mine will have many more years to come. sorry for your loss, and nice video
I lost my boy too, his name was Chief. In the 7+ years that have gone by the pain has not subsided one bit. Most people don't understand, but I know you do. Thanks for posting this video, even though it was too painful to watch, it helps that I know there are others out there missing their boy like I do.
What a beautiful little boy he was, I hope u dont mind me asking, what happened. WE have Harvey, who looks a double of him. I am so sorry for your loss, god bless him, maybe a nother will help, it did with us, xxx
Chino, the exact image of my Nikki. The exact eyes, conformation. Beautiful. Lost Nikki at ten years old. It is so sad that the dobermann doesn't live very long. But each one will hold a place and a piece of your heart till you will meet again one day. You have wonderful memories and unconditional love. The king of all dogs the doberman. Adrienne Rehoboth, Massachusetts
I lost my first doberman, Damien, after a vet overmedicated him. The last 24 hours of his life was spent in an emergency vet as he bled internally. It was not until he passed were we able to find out what the issue was, because the emergency vet did not have a soft tissue x ray machine. My heart goes out to Doberman owners who lose their best friend while they are young. It has been over five years and I will always miss him. I am sure you miss Chino just as much. God Bless you.
I lost my first to Parvo, and watching that had to be the most horrible expierience of my life. Now I have rock solid cure. But still too late. I am sorry your have a similar expierience.
What a lovely salute to your boy! I know the pain of losing a Dobie intimately. It's been 2 years since I lost my boy and it still hurts terribly. There is no substitute for a Doberman!
So sorry, he was a beautiful boy. I lost my special girl to DCM. I have three dobes now, they are all from rescue orgs. the dobe is a wonderful breed, nothing compares!!

I am still crying. My heart goes out to you and your family I do understand what the loss means. They are such a big part of the family and it hurts just as bad as if you had lost a human member. What a heart touching video.

What was the puppy wearing on its head?
pauldavidson2006 3 years ago
dobermanns have floppy ears but u can have a bit of wire put into the ear to make them stick up they do it to make dobermanns look more fierce apparently
btw sorry for ur loss he was goergous dunno wat id do with out mine! x
CharlotteM8Xx 3 years ago
They do not put wire in their ears! The ears are cut (under anesthesia) and then they are trained to stand on their own by wrapping them from anywhere between a few weeks up to a year. It must be done early while they are still growing and before the cartilage in the ears set. Some dogs, in fact, can get their ears cropped and their ears never stand, which shows there is no wire in the ears.

I lost my boy too, his name was Chief. In the 7+ years that have gone by the pain has not subsided one bit. Most people don't understand, but I know you do. Thanks for posting this video, even though it was too painful to watch, it helps that I know there are others out there missing their boy like I do.

Is Chino PURE bred??? I'm sorry for your lost...
slq300z 3 years ago 2
I lost my first doberman, Damien, after a vet overmedicated him. The last 24 hours of his life was spent in an emergency vet as he bled internally. It was not until he passed were we able to find out what the issue was, because the emergency vet did not have a soft tissue x ray machine. My heart goes out to Doberman owners who lose their best friend while they are young. It has been over five years and I will always miss him. I am sure you miss Chino just as much. God Bless you.
