But back to the day that happened. I didn't feel the after shock because I was working out, and since I was in motion I didn't feel it.

When it actually happened, I thought I was dreaming. I heard rattling and felt my legs shaking. (I live in Illinois btw.)

i live in lawrenceville, IL and the epicenter was in West Salem, IL which is only about 20 minutes away. it was pretty intense, but their wasn't much damage. just a bunch of ceiling tiles that fell out in my school

I remember when we had an earthquake here in NYC. It was before you was born back in the 80's. It felt like an 18 wheeler just drove by my window.

...thing is I lived on the 22nd floor back then so I figured it wasn't a truck. We get one or two tremor's every ten years or so.

Now that I think about we had a tornado last summer. Hummm.

My grandma felt it and woke me up thinking someone or "something" was outside banging or cats was fighting under her bed, I proved on the internet it was a quake and went back to sleep, I wish I had felt it :(

I felt it here in Columbus Ohio and was freaking out! Everything started to shake and I thought maybe it was just a hu-mong-gous truck or something driving by the house...so I thought maybe it was just me and I was crazy (cause afterall I have NEVER felt an earthquake in my life)! Come to find out there was an earthquake and we got the tremors>>>..so I am happy to say I am NOT crazy and that I felt the earthquake too...yea my first earthquake...lol!!! Glad you had this video on here!!!!

Oh, and it was funny because that weatherman they are having all over cnn is my local weatherman, I left the tv on that station all night so when I woke up to the earthquake...the tv screen shaking as well! That was really weird! lol It helped me put 2 and 2 together really fast though. lol They are shaking there, I am shaking here....yep, EARTHQUAKE!!! LOL

lol cute, I am about 40 miles from the fault, it was really crazy here. I wasn't happy either, I had stayed up late only to be woke up at 4:37 by the first one, then...just when I decided to lay back down and get some rest...yep, I was woke up by the second one. LOL But seriously, the first one was insane. It felt (and sounded) like a bus crashed into my apartment, then ran through it. There have been 23 aftershocks, crazy right!!! I would be much happier sticking with tornadoes! lol

Great video. Speaking strictly for me, when my bed shakes I prefer it to be from action on it than around it. Fortunately, living in Florida, earthquakes are of little concern, we just have tornados and hurricanes.
