This is my favorite album by Keiko. She and Kazu are absolute geniuses, and I hope they realize what a blessing their music is. Long live the Matsui legacy!
@pbee47 I agree ... absolutely dreamy and beautifully relaxing!! Thank you my dear friend for sending this to me. A gorgeous share!! Hope you have as a beautiful of a weekend as you are!!
My mother & I both loved Keiko Matsui's music. It helped me when I helped my mom 16 years ago when she was dying of cancer. And now it's helping me again while helping my only brother during his last few weeks of life, he has cancer too. This music helps to strengthen and calm your inner peace when you need to stay strong as a caregiver. Love to my brother now and forever.
@GinkoArtEtc - I couldn't agree w/you more, fam. I remember buying this CD just for this song alone. Seems to me like as soon as Keiko's about to get down w/the hellacious getdown, the song fade to an end - I wish it was longer; hell, I wish it would go on forever LOL ... Songs like this inspire me to play piano more fluidly & creatively 'cause there's such melodic beauty in her art. Great post, b69. Peace, Peoples
Most of the radio stations in America have been bought up by ultra right wing nut jobs that want to take over the US and see the south rise again. That is why you don't hear smooth jazz stations hardly anymore. The end of free thinking is coming to an end. Soon we will become slaves to the slave masters.
This has been a favorite of mine of hers ever since I came across it on a smooth jazz radio station like, wow, like a long time ago (didn't realize it was so song ago)! This song is so soothing to the ear, and is such a delight to listen to. Have to give her a high five for this, this song is so beautiful:)
heaven forbid,A long haul truck driver who doesnt like country music. When I have my XM radio on I listen to channel 71.C-jazz. When Kieko Matsui comes on,up goes the volume. When this song plays,my whole mood changes. Wonderful piece of music!!!
Paul Taylor never played sax on this or any of her video performances. Mike Acosta played sax in the "Light Above The Trees" VHS version '97. Taylor played sax on "Safari"
@a012345 Hey, thanks for the e-note. I was wrong. Paul Taylor played sax on "Safari" in "Light Above The Trees" VHS as I tried to imply. He didn't play sax on "Dream Walk". You are correct. Paul played sax on "Black River" and sax on Keiko's SAPPHIRE (1995) CD. Keiko and Kazu discovered Paul while touring on Catalina Island and invited him to play on "Sapphire", which is Paul's greatest sax work in my opinion.
@bellbell890 Pure Gold I agree. if you want a more emotional version of the same song, please, google Bridge Over the Starts as either P20v11M or 68meran. This version was held in Palace of the Fine Arts, SF. Here she wore a spaghetti stringed blue sparkling gown and she is in pony tail.
This is so lovely!

She is the consummate pianist. I can't say enough good things about her.
A joy to listen to. This song will always be one of my favorites. I don't know how to
say this, but she seems to "attack" the piano --- delicately, deftly. Love her.

I asked her to play it in her encore at Jazz Alley in Seattle last year, and she did!!!!
