Thats a good point. That might result in more stations with southern viewpoints. But as it stands now, local ownership has been bought up. Ideally we want laws that protect and foster a diversity of views in the media so while their might be other "fox news" outlets, there would also be African American, Liberal, Labor and other voices in the media. I just know it's a lot easier to fight local governments then it is to fight the federal government.
And let's break up the monopoly primary (but not secondary) public ed has on public funding. Teachers unions care about the student about as much as corporate lobbyists care about the consumer. Big unions, big business, big media, big government-- they're all corrupt to the core.

If you haven't heard about the Taft-Hartley Act, it not only greatly restricts what Unions can and can not do but makes it harder to create new Unions. Seems like that prevents alternatives to competition between unions. I would like to see a diversity of unions as opposed to a few big ones.

There are liberal and conservative biases in media. The NY Times, for example, is very biases in its coverage of Second Amendment rights (which it opposes), abortion (which it supports), the death penalty (opposes), feminism (supports), et al.

Now the middle class is shrinking - it's dying! Washington politicians, big business, stupid (top-down) economic policies , and inept media have worked together to suck life and money from the middle class - redistributing it to those who are already wealthy. Alternative visions never get a hearing. I think the only thing that could mobilize this country is a good old fashioned depression. Maybe it's the only way. People are still not ready for vision. Idealism seems to have taken a back seat to greed and selfishness. I pray that whatever transcendant power may be out there gives us a harsh emetic that makes us throw this disease all up.

I don't think the U.S. government owes non-citizens "universal" health care, nor do I think it's a travesty that many 20 year-olds don't have health care. Thats a good point. That might result in more stations with southern viewpoints. But as it stands now, local ownership has been bought up. Ideally we want laws that protect and foster a diversity of views in the media so while their might be other "fox news" outlets, there would also be African American, Liberal, Labor and other voices in the media. I just know it's a lot easier to fight local governments then it is to fight the federal government.

If you haven't heard about the Taft-Hartley Act, it not only greatly restricts what Unions can and can not do but makes it harder to create new Unions. Seems like that prevents alternatives to competition between unions. I would like to see a diversity of unions as opposed to a few big ones.

Recently I told someone that I had started to have a relationship that I didn't want to see him anymore because I found out he is a Republican. I don't hang out with fascists. We can no longer afford to agree to disagree. These people are destroying our country and constitution. They are plummeting us into fascism. KB&R are not building "detention centers" in the US for nothing.

The liberal states also have the lowest crime rates and the lowest divorce rates. Whereas all of the southern red states are plagued by these things. They should be Machiavellian in their approach to politics which they are not. There is no left wing conspiracy but there should be because the right has had one for years. No, the Bush administration is dead. Small govenment is a principle that even Bill Clinton had to embrace in order to save his presidency. And New Orleans was a product mostly of incompetent local officials, not the feds.
