It doesn't matter how advanced a robot is, at the end of the day it's just a machine which has been cleverly programmed. The more advanced the robot, the more complex the algorithms that have been used to make it. It has no emotion, and cannot make MORAL desicions.

Its complicated, but it has already been done, a computer science experiment gave a robot the ability to move through obsticals by itself, this is a form of decision making, and it was done by Hondas ASIMO, you could also program a computer to test designs based on its surroundings, which would be a true form of thinking.

A) Were natural, so everything that we do as a result is natural because its a product of a natural object.

B) If it obtains a Soul or is Alive (in otherwords, aware of its own existance, learns new things and thinks independently and aware of life n death) then just like animals and humans alike, they only attack when threatened or need to survive (such as food sources)

Of course he Japanese are ahead of America. They're ahead of the entire world when it comes to robotics and AI. They have robots engrained in their culture to be part of their society, as opposed to external slaves. There's loads of good info on AI and Robotics if you're interested in the subject online.

Mmmm.... There's still a major problem with asimo's battery life, (anywhere between 15-60 minutes before needing to recharge) but still very cool non the less. Definately looking forward to when they develope a marketable version (I give it 20 years)
