this song is not about drugs, if you are familiar with the entire album the wall. pink is a very introverted person who doesnt want communication to anyone else and is completely enveloped by the wall he has been buidling his entire life by the time of this song in the album. it is related to a time when waters was sick as a child. if this song were about drugs and the wall was made from drugs than pink would have been using drugs since he was a child, which he does not do.

This is a really good orchestra piece but I cannot connect it to "Comfortably Numb", except the piano line, of course. Some parts sound like the Pink Floyd song but as a whole I think this could be considered only a very free interpretation.
