  • boooorriiing!!!!

  • Too slow, you can see Billy trying to 'push' Mitch.

  • heeeeeyyy Mitch !!!! You´re the beeeeeeeeest and fasteeeeeest drummer eveeeeeeer !!!!!

  • SLASH SUCKS!!!! They should of got Jeff Beck, Or Townshend, or Clapton or Billy Gibbons or John Fruchante! And for the stupid mother fucker dissin' Mitch Mitchell, He played pretty well for a man who was dying! you stupid ass hole!

  • slash sux !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wtf is wrong with this nigga fucking up this song like that Slash=Fail

  • Slash made several mistakes, you have to agree.. Actually he is a bit annoying here...

But i will always have respect for Winwood, no one, and i mean no one, from all of the young stars, could match his talent in the 60ies (with the exception on Stevie Wonder)

  • I disagree. There's never been a damn thing wrong with Winwood. Mitch is possibly the best drummer ever. Winwood's voice fits.

  • Wish everyone would stop whinging....this is a fantastic band....Jimi loved Stevie Winwood and Slash in my book is a great player......and what a rhythm section the legendary Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox............why is everyone so negative and cynical.......it is a tribute to Jimi for f+cks sake......

  • Clapton on lead guitar and vocals and Townshend on rhythm guitar would have made this performance so much meaningful.

  • Comment removed

  • who the fuck is the dude singin ? they coulda had some one better. personally i think john mayer would have done better

  • Thats steve winwood from blind faith and traffic awesome musican not right for this song though i agree

  • @pootershnitzel Man I hope you're kidding, Steve Winwood is singing and he's easily one of the best singers/musicians there is. Granted 'Hey Joe' doesn't suit his voice aswell, but John Mayer is nothing compared to him.

  • R.I.P Mitch. Best drummer

  • What really stinks about this is that Mitch Mitchell is playing his tired old heart out, and you can actually hear him doing some of his classic fills - but it's fucking hard to hear because of that tosser out front.

  • Steve Winwood GOOD

    Mitch Mitchell GOOD

fuck that poser with the hat though.

  • you don't need any Bums and Poses here, lose the Slash

  • I love Slash, love his work....but it should of been Mayer!

  • Pretty good, but I don't like the singing. It's not as deep or blue-sy as Jimi was.

  • salute the legendary Billy Cox...as Stevie Ray used to say...'well y'all know Mr Bass don't ya ????'

  • is this mitch on the drums or is he the guy they showed in the audience at the beggining

  • its mitch on drums. lost the speed at this point but still has the groove.

  • This is worth watching just to know that half of New Order were forced to watch Slash play a solo. Oh, and Mitch Mitchell is the greatest drummer ever ever ever.

  • i cant belive thats mitch

  • For all those slagging Stevie Winwood,...Stevie was there too..he played on Electric Ladyland and was well respected by Jimi and Mitch.....

  • :O Some nutty little bends in that solo. Fucking awesome line up!!!

  • love it <3

  • they shoulda had the main spotlight on Mitch and Billy.

Slash is alright and all but it was MITCH AND BILLY WHO WERE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Grr

    I'm mad

    :p

  • ur so right.. like this is my 3rd time watchign it like nto in a row but in time.. and i just realized that cox and mitchell where there.. and idk i hated the vocals..

  • Sorry to interrupt the mud slinging but is that Billy Cox on bass? Great performance by Winwood ...and Mitch! Well it's Mitch Mitchell innit...nuff said!

  • God - the usual who's better argument - it's very boring. (Btw my toothpaste is better than your toothpaste.)

  • For all you guys who were 2 (or less) when Jimi died-give it a rest., I saw Page, Hendrix, Nugent, Clapton and the rest back in the 60s. Incredible innovators.

Slash is a great modern-day guitarist.

    Accept it.

  • slash has got no guts, hes a guitarist from the complete other end of the spectrum from Hendrix...

  • if SRV would of been alive, you know he would of done the job.!

  • god jul

  • god jul

  • Fuck Slash! He sucks! Clapton or Fucking Dave Mason who were close to Jimi Hendrix! Hell! They should of gotten Billy Gibbons! Slash did a great job in raping the song! He sucks and if you saw the complete clip of this, Slash is totally rude to MItch! FUCK HIM!!! hes a cocksucker! Long live Hendrix,Mitchell and Redding!!!

  • R.I.P. Mitch you were my biggest influence! And why the fuck is Slash playing guitar for them? It should be Clapton or Page or someone who actually deserves to playing there.

  • Jimi and Mitch expanded the borders of their respective instruments and gave us a new level of musicianship and beautiful music itself.if we could hear these two together today...

  • what do people see in slash? Honestly, he's horrible, I'm more of a guitar god than he is

  • Winwood: "OK, thats enough now Slash!" Mitch Mitchell: "Wow, that STASH guy is pretty good." Cox: "Um are we going to play Machine Gun after this." SLASH, :Yes, look what I can do. Feel the spirit of Hendrix entering me. YEEEaaahh!"

    That was fun to hear.

    RIP Mitch Mitchell, the man.

  • I could listen to Jimi all day! RIP Mitch.

  • Rest in peace Mitch

  • these negative comments are BS IMHO.

Jimi was my hero in the 60s-listened to all his early stuff. Saw Mitch with jack Bruce-incredible.

This was a great tribute-Slash did a great job. It was an honor to Hendrix.

How old are you guys? 2?

  • Murder Ballad (lol) God Bless Mitch (RIP)

  • There is and never will be two artists like Jimi and Mitch ever again. Don't mean to slight Noel, er David, but the trio was two amazingly talented and uniquely gifted musicians.

  • F&&&ing excruciating.

They may have been drunk, but Slash's doodlings are sheer torture.

How dare they trash the memory of Jimi, one of the only true geniuses who ever lived.

  • Horrible. How can Stevie Winwood be part of this monstruosity ?

In case anybody was in doubt, these painful 7minutes confirm what a lousy guitarist Slash is.

  • at the very least Slash should be playing a Strat...

  • Wow I'm getting annoyed by how little footage of Mitch there is while he's actually playing to a song.

  • Hey Mitch, yea fat ass, get to the gym.

  • Hey fuck face--how about some respect for the recently departed.

  • I would really love to see this version w/o Slash... He really doesn't belong here. Good or not,he just doesn't cut it when it comes to Hey Joe. Looking like a freaky John Lennon badly needing an ashtray is just wrong. There's so many guitarist left from the 60ies, so why did they choose Slash???

  • You're too kind to Slash in your comment.

I think he should be gassed.

  • can i say it again. FUCK UYOU SLASH! FUCK YOU!

  • yeahhhhhh FUCK SLASH!!!

  • so mitch sounds alright. i think its the tone of his drums that mask some of the subtleties of his playing... winwoods the best of the bunch... and can i say it again, FUCK YOU SLASH! FUCK YOU! YOU GODDAMNED DIRTY OVERRATED COCKY BASTARD WITH YOUR RIDICULOUS HAT AND CIGARETTE YOU DICK

  • dont get me wrong, winwood is the fuckin balls- check his performance with clapton in NYC in other videos- but this song seems a bit out of range. you cant blame him though- the other musicians are doing so poorly how could you expect him to do much better? fuck slash. FUCK him. overrated asshole. poor mitch... imagine what it was like to be on top of the world in the 60s and then have everything come to an abrupt end when jimi died.

  • Pfffffff...is it possible to play this great song any worse???Mitch Mitchell seems ripe for a retirement home (seems to be falling asleep every now and then)and Slash's playing is absolutely terrible (which doesn't surprise me...he's SO overrated)!

The only man doing fairly well is Winwood.

  • I'm really not sure how people can be slagging Slash's playing. It's certainly not what stands out as awful in this performance. At least he's in rhythm... poor Mitch loses the beat coming out of every fill. He should have practiced a wee bit more before this gig cause he's really really lost it. The poor bass player keeps having to stop playing for a sec to figure out what beat Mitch has found himself on after making his way around the toms.

  • they need to show more footage of mitch and billy cox, ease up on slash. i think he is soooooooo overrated. who wants to see slash??????? not me. steve windwood is cool though.

  • I love it when videographers and directors don't have the sense to put the f'n camera on the people who viewers might have some interest in watching, i.e. Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell...aka Jimi Hendrix's bandmates. Jeez.

  • Wow...that was bad. Really not a Slash song...he's not in the right place. Has no feeling for the song at all and keeps on relying on the same old licks. Singing is bad too. Now how would this be with Buddy Guy instead of Slash? He could take over the singing too.

  • Slash is shit why is he wearin a stupid hat and destroying the legacy of this great song

  • slash's playing is horrible

  • slash stop playing and go home....

  • jimmy hendrix was my uncle

  • first you must learn to write right his name!

  • if he was your uncle i think you could be able to spell his name right

  • thats his non stage name. his middle name is gordon.

  • lol chas chandler told him to spell his name jimi instead of jimmy cause it was diff

  • not sure about that one i'll have to ask my auntie.

  • yea its true jimi used the name jimi before but he went back to jimmy till chas found him and told him to go back to jimi lol its confusing

  • Never seen that written anywhere, its always been said that Chas Chandler thought that Jimi was a cool stage name. And before that it was Jimmy or James.

  • naw i read a book on him where he said that

  • what book?

  • For those of you who dont know..thats steve winwood singing. He used to jam with jimi and was even on the electric ladyland album

  • where is Joe ?

  • u mean waldo?

  • this sucks man!!!

  • billy and mitch are great but the singers voice annoys me so much and slash really doesnt do it justice

  • Mitch and Billy are the stars here. Mitch is the master at hesitating and rushing the beat. gotta love it. Smashed just sucks here, tired ass licks and lousy vibrato.

  • 'As long as Smashed has his top hat he will rock'? hilarious! Try a different hat Slash! Image over substance for you pal...

  • ugh

  • thats mitch mitchell. he's jimi's drummer. and your an idiot

  • hey asshole, mitch mitchell happens to be one of the best drummers of his time and overlooked by many ignorant self proclaimed music enthusiasts such as yourself

  • Ugggh! Sloppy guitar, slash-forget about your vanity image with the shadows, hair and the hat-and keep time. Stop dragging and speeding up. Billy sounds good-but plays the same fill over and over. (on bass)

  • God damned it, this version also rules, and Slash's solo still good. I agree with the dude that says that Jimi would be happy to ear this.

P.S.: Slash's hat is his trademark, and as long Slash's wearing it, he will still rock, 'cause he is when of the best guitar players known. And after all, who the f... are you guys to question Slash and his f..... hat? Oooops, I don't have a freaking clue.

  • Jimi Hendrix was rollin in his fucking grave during this really bad performance on Slash's part! Hes good for GNR, but thats it! Other than that, He fucking sucks! They should of got Billy Gibbons!

  • That sux!!! Stupid voice. He-e-e-e y Jo-o...e, arghhh!!! Mitch Mitchel is a great fuckin drummer, but this tribute sux!

  • Haha, I really don't think Jimi would've been too happy about this one.

  • love Steve Winwood,Mitch Mitchell etc but slash !!

needs to learn less is more !

  • This is probably the most boring version I have ever heard. Not only that but if you really listen to Slash you can tell he has no clue whats going on. Horrible. The only thing I can say is the bass and the drums were good. Mitch is 60 and can still play.

Sorry Slash, you and your stupid hat were always a gimmick.

  • man how come slash is still wearing that stupid tophat.

  • its great to see Buddy, Mitch and Steve Winwood ogether playing Jimi.. but Slash.. ;/

  • sweet! Slash rules!

  • steve winwood and mitch mitchell YEAH
