love the autumnal, melancholy, reflective atmosphere of the first movt. so much passion though too.
like how this arrangement brings out more of the melody of the cello, always found that in the orchestra version some the lyricism/nuances of the cello parts are less audible because of the orchestra's playing.
this and his 1st symphony are my absolute favourites out of Elgar's repertoire. Pity he is a generally under-rated composer...had no idea that he was known at all in Israel...that's where you are from, right?

hauntingly beautiful!
