I miss shows where you could jump up on stage and sing half the song with the singer! Now days if you jumped up and tried to grab the mic, you would get pummeled by security, and kicked out. I got to sing for 3 seconds at a Descendants/All concert in Houston, Tx. it was fucking awesome. I didn't get up on stage but he lowered the mic for me to sing the "More more more, mo mo more" cover of Billy Idols "In the midnight hour" I will remember that forever. Good bands, good times!
@thepupils209 You gotta go to the right venues, man. Here in London, in the small clubs, you don't get kicked out for climbing onstage! Except that once when I saw Kvelertak they hired a douchebag security guy who pushed me and no one caught me, LOL. Just get up on that stage, man!
You cannot make your own scene now because people's priorities have shifted somewhere else and now "artists" are trying to recreate past heroes.....Minor Threat was Minor Threat not Sex Pistols imitators, same thing with Black Flag, Nirvana, hell...even Bon Jovi.....they were their own version.
@leon625 If a Youtube comment consists only of "Hey, check out this great new band", chances are that said band is gonna suck.
No matter how good the music is, nobody in the History of Ever liked bands that they know because of Youtube comment advertisement. That goes double for punk bands. So, if you care for them, please don't advertise them on Youtube anymore.
everyone says that they were born in the wrong era, but punk is still around. places like the gilman have shows all the time. the people who say they were born in the wrong time probably wouldnt have heard of minor threat or black flag etc. if they did live in that time. they would be talking about how they were born in the wrong time. start your own band, play shows. there is still a punk scene.
All these people complaining that music isn't the same these days -- get off your fucking computers and start a goddamn band. Even if you've gotta go solo, do SOMETHING about the music scene instead of bitching about it. That's what these guys did.
