  • And no. I sure as heck don't listen to pedro the lion. What this guy did was foolish. What Robert and the rest of the staff decided and did. Pulling him off. Took Courage and leadership. True christians who call out their brothers wrong. Especially if he is in leadership. Ever listen to Calibretto 13? We need more Christians like them. Who arent afraid to tell chrisitians who cuss, smoke, drink, n have sex, that they are wrong and are hypocrites. If you represent Christ. At least act like it.

  • @BallydowseRambler yes, it does say that in Ephesians, But god gave us no "list of unwholesome words". Christians say the term "crap" and "freaking" all the time in music you can buy in Christian bookstores. But how are those words any different from "shit" and "fucking"? They mean the same thing and are used the same way. Bottom line, Christ looks at the intent of your heart. Also, does no-one here listen to Pedro the lion? Haha, is David Bazan like the Christian exception or something?

  • @generik88 Yep chrisitians do. Also theres alot of talk in that Bible chrisitians read about how when your a leader you will be judged more harshly. This guy was a leader. On stage with a 100+sheep looking at him. He had a choice to either be a sheperd or a wolf. He chose a wolf. And im sure someones gonna comeback at me and say its wrong for me to judge. Well guess what. Im calling it as it is. Thats something christians do have have authority from God to do. thats what Robert did.

  • @bryannelson00 Um I'm sorry, but it is a Christian festival. It is in the Bible that says it is unholy to use foul language. Christians read and follow the Bible. What don't you get?

  • @Rawk4Life it shows other people that all Christians aren't uptight judgmental pricks. It helps you get on the same level as them instead of some high unattainable goal. And also shows people that Christ can love them no matter where they are in life.

  • @generik88 Jesus loves us, despite our sins, but He also told us 2 b Christ-like. Jesus was perfect, no one else was, or ever will b. None can be perfect, but we are 2 strive for perfection. "Some high unattainable goal" was established by God. Ex..homosexuality is sin, Bible says so (Romans ch 1), people are in a homo lifestyle of sin. If they struggle 2 stop doing it, but continually fail, God sees they are trying. 2continue 2do it, but not b repentant, God cannot forgive. He sees r hearts.

  • @opie1kanobie Who is it that deems the words like "Fuck, shit and asshole" immoral? Why, the almighty FCC! So, you could say that taking on the morality of a worldly organization, accepting the morality of the world, or "Conforming to the patterns of this world". I believe it says also to not do that in Eph. Words are just nouns and adjectives my friend. No word is any more evil or sinful that any other. Its the way you use them that counts.

PS: You would look smarter if you used proper grammar.

  • @generik88 And mate. If your gonna insult this guy's grammar , then im gonna insult your intellegence. You should maybe pull out a history book. Those words have been around and immoral long before the FCC ever existed. You forgot quite a few commas yourself and you needed a semicolon in there. If your gonna bark; you should at least be a dog instead of a cat. so :P

  • I just have to say...justifying what you did with "everyone else does it" is perhaps the thing that speaks most about the guys maturity level...argue all you want about the use of the word...but common sense would tell you that you're at a Christian festival and until the end of time...that four letter word he spoke will always be considered a "bad word"...so there was no point in pushing that button...and if he did..he should have been mature enough to apologize and move on instead of get defe

  • @joelb1 EXACTLY what I was thinking.

  • My band said fuck 4 times on legacy stage and no one did anything. I don't get why Christians get so up in arms about this stuff. Jesus still will still love you and let you play music if you say fuck. Why can't it be the same for people at cornerstone?

  • Maybe they should have. Ephesians 4:29 says Let no corrupt communication proceed from your mouth, but only that which is edifying to your fellow brethren. How is saying profane words edifying to the body of Christ, try to explain that.

  • @generik88 Do not speak filthy language. or foul language whatever translation you wanna read, but its in the bible clear as day in the new testiment.. its a pretty direct commandment that paul gave us who spoke God's Word. And the F word means forniccation in a filthy unholy manner. whats not to get. ever wander why momma washed your mouth out with soap? cause its filthy. Yes God will Love you still. But a relationship with God goes both ways. He gets hurt when you do that. Love goes both ways

  • @BallydowseRambler RIGHT ON, BRO! This was dispicable! Unacceptable. &he didn't want 2leave. Unreal. I can't imagine if my kids were there..I would have had 2leave and explain that mess. They should have cut his mic long before he was ranting about the brood of vipers, &if he wouldn't voluntarily leave, they should have got security 2carry him off the stage. Saw other vids on You Tube, &heard his language spill into his songs from his heart...don't under stand why Conerstone had him there?

  • @generik88 Making a mistake is one thing, we all mess up, but 2continue like this guy did and try 2reason that it's acceptable, that God loves us anyway, is not pleasing 2God. Not sure why they invited this guy as his vids on YouTube have swearing in them. It's a Christian festival, &I would expect the artists rep. Christ, not filth. Can't imagine being there w/my kids when that happened. They will hear the F-bomb in their life, but shouldn't hear it from artists @ a Christian music festival.

  • @opie1kanobie If you read Eph. 4:29 ( the passage which all of you are referring to) in addition to the "let no foul language come from your tongue" It also says " No worthless talk ever to come out of your mouth, but only such that is beneficial to the spiritual progress of others" (amp). So, based on this passage, i must ask, do you talk about movies? Baseball? Anything that is not directly edifying to Christ and other people's spiritual progress? Then you are guilty of the same "sin".

  • Yeah they had the right to pull this dude off stage. We all make mistakes, but at a certain point you have to understand that your there to represent Christ and not act like an idiot.

  • Louis good work! I love you!

  • lol....it is a christian festival dude....I understand people may slip every now and then.....maybe...but the F-bomb is a big one to slip...that shouldn't come out of anyones mouth let alone someone suppose to be representing Jesus Christ

  • @musician4theLord There are a lot of people "representing" Jesus that do stupid shit and nobody cares. Louis didn't do anything wrong. Those are just words they don't hurt anybody. Somebody decided that some words are "bad" or "foul" and people decided to adopt that as fact. When actually they are just words.

  • Oh... okay, so since Bono gets away with it, then there's no problem with him saying it.

  • @danielznelson this is at a christian fest its different.

  • @DaltonDisciple Haha, I was being sarcastic. I just thought it was lame that instead of apologizing, he just tried to justify what he did by saying other people do it.

  • @DaltonDisciple Haha, I gotcha. I was being sarcastic. I think the dude's reasoning was pathetic. An immature excuse.

  • The sound guy in the back was going to have a late night anyway and the stage was behind that day because of power outages. They cut the set down to try and get out of there at a reasonable hour. I get that. Getting booted off stage for slipping out a curse word, I get that. Having security try and shut down someone playing an acoustic guitar out in the open? That's not the spirit of Cornerstone. I didn't get that. The acoustic show was great!

  • @goshox21 Sorry, audio guy wouldn't give me a line-out to my phone's camera, he offered to use the usb out of the board but by the time we found a USB "B" connector the spur of the moment incident had already happened. If only you were there, you coulda helped me get a better mix.

  • what a very shitty audio recording.

  • And then the sound guys let him finish that song, then kicked him off the stage.

  • What I saw was that Louis started playing. He mockingly apologized to the sound guys for having a fight with them, I recall him telling the whole crowd to say "im sorry" in unison.

Then shortly after he was informed that his set was to be cut short, he responded with "They can suck it, i'm playing my 55 minute set". Then he played a song, and after the song he was casually talking to the crowd and he said "I dont mean to have foul language, but im fuckin' playing".

  • @GuitaristTrue Hmm I may have said "I dont mean to have foul language, but im fuckin' playing" that sounds like something I would say. I was not mocking when I said I was sorry but I was treated like crap from the moment I showed up to that stage. My set was cut down to 20 minutes after one song. The lighting guy came up to me much later and said he was sorry that it got out of hand. I am sorry they had a bad day at the stage but no need to punish me for it. I got pissed. I said fuck. It happens

  • Louis runs his mouth. Big surprise.

  • @gasolinetour part 3 You may want to start at the bottom & work up. The dude gave me the boot &I had no idea he had that power. Every year I play cornerstone I understand the rules, No drinking No foul language. I usually know everyone running the stage & the bust my chops about it because my language tends to be a little risque & I have been known to enjoy a cocktail or two. I have always been respectful about the rules. I was not being obscene. I slipped. It happens I said sorry. It was sincere

  • I will give you my side of the story.

The stage was running over an hour behind. I was slotted to be the final act of the evening at 1050. When I asked the sound guy to play my ipod after the band he said no problem. I wanted to just set the mood and let the crowd know that I was next. When I went on stage they shut my ipod off. No big deal, so I went back and asked them to put it back on. I tried to raise to the volume and the dude slapped my hand. He then proceeded to tell me I was drunk

  • @gasolinetour part 2. I told him that i certainly was not drunk. He then told me he was the lighting guy and to expect the lights to be really dark during my show. Then I went on stage played one song & was told that I only had 20 minutes left. My reaction was "what the fuck?" the sound guy can suck it I am playing my 55. Thats when some dude who I had no idea who he was came on stage wanting to talk to me. I said dude I don't wanna talk I just wanna play. I had no idea he was the stage manager

  • @gasolinetour Your attitude is what got you kicked off stage, not the cursing. Had you been like "I thought I had 35 minutes, why is my set being cut short?," then you probably would have been able to finish.

  • It wasn't really just the F-bomb that got him kicked out, He also told the sound guy to suck it! After they kicked him off he went to perform in the grass and the security guy wouldn't leave him alone and was trying to rip his guitar out of his hand by the neck. Both parties could have done much better at a Christian festival. Don't think bad of either, Cornerstone and Gasoline Heart both rock! Both sides made mistakes and it needs to be forgiven and forgotten.

  • @Alvin I guess it all started when they showed up. Louis got into an argument with both sound guys. When he started playing he gave a lackluster apology. Next he knocked over a mic stand while playing, which also knocked his guitar out of tune. Since the stage was running behind, he was then informed that he only had 35 mins to play. If memory serves (I was really tired at this point) He said no I'm playing my 55 and I think at that point is when the F-Bomb came. Louis was a train-wreck....

  • I'd heard about this. Could you explain more?

  • Awesome.
