Ive recently moved from PC to iMac and I made the change as I want to make my videos in HD. I just got final cut express 4 and I'm having problems getting any video footage of my SDHC card.
I use a canon LEGRIA HF R17 and it records to the format of AVCHD I have recently found out that final cut doesn't like this format is there a way round this problem?
Before moving to iMac I edited with pinnacle would running windows on my iMac over come the problem and would it allow me to use pinnacle.
@mudbay77 You turn your computer off, and when you turn it back on, you should get an option to change just as you would with going to windows. i'm just guessing lol, but that would be the logical step
@rickquintanaXD He was a not a good person don't feel sorry for him. feel sorry for the 1 million and counting innocent civillian men, women and children the United States millitary have horrifically murdered in their own countries.
Ok, my father bought a 27" mid 2011 imac recently and he put bootcamp with windows 7. When he installs some windows programs it says he does not have a authentic version of windows but he bought at best buy. Im starting to think that it may not be authentic cause the startup looks likevista and the taskbar looks like vista but its running 7. What do you guys think.
@XxaddamsxX Maybe because of the option.... You can changed the taskbar into the default of Windows 7..... Or maybe you are using windows7 Starter..... Starter looks like Windows Vista.....
I'm having trouble with my mic and i think its got something to do with me having windows on my mac.i got someone else to do mine so they may have done something wrong.my mics not registering on my computer anywhere not in audio devices no were please help its getting a really big problem
Personally I use a Mac and a PC. Between the two I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. I really can't tell which is better. a Mac is faster and a little bit more stable but a PC has more features and compatability. So for those who argue which is better I have both :D
I recently installed Windows 7 on my imac. When I turn off the mac, and then back on it always goes into windows unless I hold down option first. Then it gives the choice btwn mac and pc. Did I do something wrong on my install? Shouldn't every start natively go into the imac partition, unless I am holding down the option key?
@jamesaburke7 DO NOT WORRY - Its easy - When your on the Mac go to systems preferences - Startup Disk - then select the Mac HD then press restart, this will then boot to Mac first all the time (unless you change it) you can also do this in Windows (under bootcamp options) Thanks
thanx davis, I set it my startup disk in both windows and mac, as mac. the reason was because, the first info i found online was only for windows. it works great, but will i have a problem, because i set them both up, to start as a mac. also, why did it start in bootcamp before? is it because of the nature of bootcamp? Or did windows only agree to be used if it initially started in windows?
u mean to say that you can use this jut like the normal windows pc without any hiccups? does it get hanged anytime? sorry the reason i'm asking all this is becoz i'm thinking of switching over to an imac for good.
im having problems with installing boot camp drivers on 64 bit windows 7 on imac the disc doesnt auto play and doesnt seem to recognise the disk? pls help thanks
running boot camp on my white macbook 2010 how come the battery is so low when running a purchased copy of windows 7 home premium on it usally have to keep it plugged it any seggestions on how to make the battery run better on it Thanks l1L890 using windows 7 to play games on my mac
@1730davis Thanks for your response, but I am still confused. If I want to run Adobe CS5 MC, Sony Vegas Pro, Final Cut Pro so can I run them on using Windows on iMac?
@arsalankhan1 YES, of course! I have many pieces of software and hardware that does not run with Mac OS X but runs fine with windows 7 (through bootcamp) on my Mac, Thanks 1730davis
@arsalankhan1 There are programs to use windows en Mac OS at the same time, on the same screen. or if u have 2 monitors, you can use 1 monitor for mac and the other for windows. check the apple webstie
so you can choose what OS you want to use on boot up? is it a good idea to have both OS' on your mac? are there any disadvantages? thanks im kinda a noob when it comes to this kinda things
I notice that your wireless mouse and keyboard are still working, mine completely crap out on me right when i switch to windows...and ever since i update my windows last night i havent been able to use my keyboard to type in the password or move me mouse at all.
@maxkiller276 - You can install windows on any Mac, You need to run Bootcamp which is already on the Mac. You can also buy other software such as VM Ware or Parallels which will let you run windows within Mac, Using Bootcamp requires you to restart and choose OS, Thanks
@sluggy32 Yes, if you are connected to the Internet. It's not that Mac's don't get viruses; they do if you're running Windows. It's no different then a PC when you're using Bootcamp.
