now that I have watched this storyline again after a longer while I'm thinking that they made a mistake having Natalia declare her love here. They should have sent her on maternity leave after she ran off from the wedding, then leave Springfield in confusion and then afterwards there could have been some more back and forth. Cause until this point the story was simply perfect but from here it only goes downhill.
The only thing i did notice throughout even to the end of the show although its probally not relievant at all is that when Olivia blurted her I love you out it was I am in love with you.. and when Natalia blurted hers it was i love there is a big differance between just loving someone and being in love with someone... I think that maybe i am just being stupid but did anyone else notice that .. i am in no way saying that either scene was not excellant...just wondering if anyone else noticed
Yeah I noticed but she also says "I don't love him, I love you." which can indicate that she loves Olivia just as much as people think she should love Frank. Plus I think they wrote it like that so they aren't saying the same thing when confessing their love. She also says basically the same thing as Olivia when explaining she didn't know when she started loving her.

The scene between these two in the GoL is so beautiful. Not just the words and the way they look at each other, but the background setting as well. Breath-taking, all of it. Having said that, I think it would have worked just as well if, when Olivia first walked into the GoL and Nat turned, Nat just walked across to her and kissed her deeply. Who needs words after that?
Frank's such an ass - if a woman runs from you and leaves you at the altar and you can't find her, then she doesn't wanna be found by you!

yeah you're right. I think it's because although they're so different and argue so often, you can still see that they're not angry at each other, they just disagree...they'll just forgive each other and that makes it OK to think that it's hot and not worry that they'll split

Yeah, I pretty much dropped dead of happiness at that point :D And in that one single sentence she made it clear to everyone that it wasn't just your regular ol platonic love, but the kind of romantic love she was supposed to feel for Frank, she felt for Olivia. Amazing stuff! I love GL!!!!
I love how Natalia SLAPS Olivia's hand @ 1:50 and says Please let go. In other words...Don't touch me and don't drag me back to that lie of a marriage like you did before!!
I took the slap more as though Natalia didn't want Olivia to touch her because she was already confused and the person causing her confusion was just bring even more feelings to the surface. I like your idea too though lol
It's such a new idea for them to do anything about being together as they've both been having these feelings and not telling the other. It was just too hot, too unreliabe what might happen there in the gazebo by the church to be at all physically demonstrative. I wanted that too but they're not ready yet to tell the world they still have to work out they're own stuff.
The thing that made me so sad was that there was Nat at the end of the piece with virtually no one.
I loved this episode! Natalie speaks her unveiled truth in an honest, clear, vulnerable and even funny manner. Natalia knows something changed and she loves Olivia, you are my family, you are EVERYTHING to me. The writers refer back to the kitchen scene after Franks proposal to Natalia when Olivia says if Frank is everything to you maybe you should marry him. Thanks for allowing these two characters to experience true unconditional love for one another. Props to the writers and actors!

I, for one, am enjoying this s/l because other than shows dedicated to lesbian s/l (i.e., L word, logo) this show has given us a treat. Can anyone tell me an American show that has remained committed to lesbian s/l for this long with a main character

I have to admit that what helps me tolerate some of the angst or thinking the writers are going to back off this s/l is reading interviews with CC and JL that speak to what's coming. CC chat on BPD also suggested that fans may want to let the writers know what they are thinking because there is some influence and I know I don't want those who DON'T want this s/l at all to be heard louder than us. an article by JL in Soap Weekly helped me as well.
First off, yeah its a soap and in the immortal words of GL creator Irma Phillips: Make em laugh, make em cry and then make them wait.
Ever since the My2Mommies; Olivia realized her feelings and has been proactively dealing with them. Although Natalia maybe realized [her own feelings] back then too; she is just now processing.
I dont think its superficial at all imo. Im with CC (like she mentioned in the BPD chat) and I trust these writers completely.
I was originally very upset by the ending but after some review (and a glass of champagne) I understand why Olivia did what she did. I don't think the writers would get "us" / them to this point and then just end it completely (for future episodes). Theur love story has been portrayed realistically until now so you can't expect them to kiss and announce to the world that they are in love. As Olivia said, the truth is on the table. It's up to Natalia what to do with it.

I love how Liv and Nat both had to be emotionally pushed before they could admit their love for each other. The writers are giving them so much to work with and these two actresses are AWESOME!
My two cents...Olivia doesn't know anymore than Natalia does...this is new to her as well and it's damn scary...she already told Doris I don't know if I want to lose who am I with respect to using her sexuality to get what she wants. I'm not sure about others here but I know when I realized I was in love with a woman I was scared, confused, worried about the things these two are worried about.. figuring out myself then declaring that was scarier than knowing it alone cause now what
Actually there were 'sign' that tell Nathalia not to marry, like the 2 fathers can't marry them, Doris purposely delay the ceremony, Emma's wonderful speech.. all these make her realise she can't marry Frank and glad she didn't.
I think Liv and Frank both challenge Natalia with what she really wants and what she's ready to do to have it. She needs to stand for herself, her own desire. She loves Liv and she'll have to come to terms with was really counts for her. I understand that Liv doesn't want Nat to follow her in this story but to walk strongly, by her own will, by her side.
Wouldn't have been great if at that time when Nat said, to Liv" I don't LOVE Frank I love you..." Frank just happen to be in the vacinity(like he is any other time, maybe then he may have a clue) Then NAt and LIvi can live happily ever after... A girl can dream-lol A Big Purple Dream

What should come next, is a very serious courtship...they are just getting used to the fact that now they are now truly honest with their feelings and it is time to do it with care and caution they way things have been done since the get go.
I'm getting annoyed with Olivia. Nat should smack her and say, "Damn it. Would you shut up and stop pushing me to marry Frank! You're the one who is scared Olivia. I love you." Then Nat kisses Liv.
When posting on a blog after Crystal's heart stopping confession on Tuesday that I was expecting a similar performance from Jessica.. someone jokingly said "no pressure or anything".. but I have to say Jessica had her own breakthrough moment just as awesome as Crystal's with those lines at the end!! Bravo Jessica!

Does anybody know when JL is supposed to be going on maternity leave? I was disappointed there wasn't a kiss or a real hug between O and N, but I'm trusting the writers here because they've done such a wonderful job with this storyline (albeit frustrating at how long it's taken). These next few months are gonna be crazy . . .
its all about patience. In the interview CC said there WILL eventually be a love scene. But that of course will be down the road. She failed to mention JL's maternity leave. The question came up I think twice, but then again thats JL's personal life not CC's. But no worries, they've built this relationship up well and I have faith they'll continue to.
Does anyone know when Otalia will be back on the scene? I hope it's not a long wait, I barely made through that last drought we had. The reruns became my lifeline*huge sigh* :-(
Frank is gong to be pissed when he figures it out. First Olivia left him for his dad, then she left her dad at the alter, then she steals Natalia form him. this could get ugly, folks.
But how sad is it that they are setting themselves up either to be profoundly closeted or to be apart.
this is the moment i've been waiting for, accepting how they feel towards each other. yes, it may be hard because they are not use to the feelings they are having. but marrrying somebody you don't even love is really foul. Nat should've not rushed in marrying frank. he will only suffer the most. Frank is indeed a good man, i wish he'll come to his senses and let go of natalia, and let her assess the feeling she has for olivia
In keeping with real-life scenarios, I agree that it is the right decision to give each time to work their way towards one another. But we only have FIVE more months, and that's not including maternity leave, however brief. I just hope that the love doesn't die with fear. Call me a pessimist, but we all live in the same world, and, despite the amazing story to this point, a part of me expects disappointment. I, and everyone else, pray that I'm wrong! ♥♥♥

I mean, until now all we had that was this real and beautiful was Helen and Nikki from BG. I didn't expect a lot of what happened this week and was thrilled and stunned by it. I'm going to choose to be optimistic about what's ahead here and hope for the best. Call me a romantic fool, but we're sure due.

Right now we have the Maca & Esther reconciliation on Hospital Central, and the "who knows what" between Pepa & Sylvia on Los Hombres de Paco, and the new story of Callie & Arizona on Grey's Anatomy. I think that all 3, but particularly MyE and Callie/Arizona will compare in depth, character, and acting quality to H&N.
Oh God Crystal Chappell is soo delicious. Her eyes are just mesmerizing. And what a perfect "wintery" backdrop.
Finally Natalia admits her feelings for Olivia. Unfortunately I do not see this s/l going any less bumpy than its been already. Natalia will be going through some real difficult times battling her religion and her feelings for another woman. Not to mention that Liv is determined to put up her own obstacles in Otalia's way.

I think this is really true to life...my life anyway! Coming out is not as straightforward as some people think, particularly when you've been brought up in a strong religious tradition. I think this actually very realistic. It may be slow to some, but it's real to others.
FINALLY!! they have both admitted they love each other!!! i'm overjoyed, but also slightly annoyed with olivia. after her graveside confession and everything with the faux!wedding, i feel it's a little selfish on her part to keep insisting that natalia marry frank. obviously it comes from her own insecurity regarding whether she would be able to provide a good life for natalia & rafe, but nat needs to have her say too. in any case, frank cooper is never the answer! JUST SAY NO!
I liked today's episode as well. Everyone agreed they like the slow pace so did people really think this would end with them kissing or going to bed. The scary part is just beginning. The OK what do we do with this and both are still rightfully struggling with this huge revelation. Liv could tell Nat is still afraid what others think so her uncertainity is particularly frightening for Liv. I think they'll get there but with a few more bumps in the road.
I couldn't agree more. These are two women who never had this experience before and never expected to. They both finally shared their true feelings with one another and Natalia didn't marry Frank. Major progress! It's understandable for them to freak out a little. If the writers took us here, my feeling is that in the long run we may actually get to see what we all hope for. Patience....

It's such a new idea for them to do anything about being together as they've both been having these feelings and not telling the other. It was just too hot, too unreliabe what might happen there in the gazebo by the church to be at all physically demonstrative. I wanted that too but they're not ready yet to tell the world they still have to work out they're own stuff.
The thing that made me so sad was that there was Nat at the end of the piece with virtually no one.

I loved this episode! Natalie speaks her unveiled truth in an honest, clear, vulnerable and even funny manner. Natalia knows something changed and she loves Olivia, you are my family, you are EVERYTHING to me. The writers refer back to the kitchen scene after Franks proposal to Natalia when Olivia says if Frank is everything to you maybe you should marry him. Thanks for allowing these two characters to experience true unconditional love for one another. Props to the writers and actors!

I, for one, am enjoying this s/l because other than shows dedicated to lesbian s/l (i.e., L word, logo) this show has given us a treat. I have to admit that what helps me tolerate some of the angst or thinking the writers are going to back off this s/l is reading interviews with CC and JL that speak to what's coming. CC chat on BPD also suggested that fans may want to let the writers know what they are thinking because there is some influence and I know I don't want those who DON'T want this s/l at all to be heard louder than us. an article by JL in Soap Weekly helped me as well.

Ever since the My2Mommies; Olivia realized her feelings and has been proactively dealing with them. Although Natalia maybe realized [her own feelings] back then too; she is just now processing.
I dont think its superficial at all imo. Im with CC (like she mentioned in the BPD chat) and I trust these writers completely.

I was originally very upset by the ending but after some review (and a glass of champagne) I understand why Olivia did what she did. I don't think the writers would get "us" / them to this point and then just end it completely (for future episodes). Theur love story has been portrayed realistically until now so you can't expect them to kiss and announce to the world that they are in love. As Olivia said, the truth is on the table. It's up to Natalia what to do with it.

My two cents...Olivia doesn't know anymore than Natalia does...this is new to her as well and it's damn scary...she already told Doris I don't know if I want to lose who am I with respect to using her sexuality to get what she wants. I'm not sure about others here but I know when I realized I was in love with a woman I was scared, confused, worried about the things these two are worried about.. figuring out myself then declaring that was scarier than knowing it alone cause now what

I think Liv and Frank both challenge Natalia with what she really wants and what she's ready to do to have it. She needs to stand for herself, her own desire. She loves Liv and she'll have to come to terms with was really counts for her. I understand that Liv doesn't want Nat to follow her in this story but to walk strongly, by her own will, by her side.

The question came up I think twice, but then again thats JL's personal life not CC's. But no worries, they've built this relationship up well and I have faith they'll continue to.

In keeping with real-life scenarios, I agree that it is the right decision to give each time to work their way towards one another. But we only have FIVE more months, and that's not including maternity leave, however brief. I just hope that the love doesn't die with fear. Call me a pessimist, but we all live in the same world, and, despite the amazing story to this point, a part of me expects disappointment. I, and everyone else, pray that I'm wrong! ♥♥♥

Hey Ericatica, I agree that we have little to be excited about. Helen and Nikki were outstandingly written and acted but all we got was "and they lived happily everafter."
Right now we have the Maca & Esther reconciliation on Hospital Central, and the "who knows what" between Pepa & Sylvia on Los Hombres de Paco, and the new story of Callie & Arizona on Grey's Anatomy. I think that all 3, but particularly MyE and Callie/Arizona will compare in depth, character, and acting quality to H&N.

Finally Natalia admits her feelings for Olivia. Unfortunately I do not see this s/l going any less bumpy than its been already. Natalia will be going through some real difficult times battling her religion and her feelings for another woman. Not to mention that Liv is determined to put up her own obstacles in Otalia's way.

I think this is really true to life...my life anyway! Coming out is not as straightforward as some people think, particularly when you've been brought up in a strong religious tradition. I think this actually very realistic. It may be slow to some, but it's real to others.

I liked today's episode as well. Everyone agreed they like the slow pace so did people really think this would end with them kissing or going to bed. The scary part is just beginning. The OK what do we do with this and both are still rightfully struggling with this huge revelation. Liv could tell Nat is still afraid what others think so her uncertainity is particularly frightening for Liv. I think they'll get there but with a few more bumps in the road.

Major progress! It's understandable for them to freak out a little. If the writers took us here, my feeling is that in the long run we may actually get to see what we all hope for. Patience....
