  • we mft 6w 130 lumens per watt fixtures in texas, check out my videos and let me know if you have questions about SSL LED. These little 1w and 3w LED are kind of old and just don't have the light output for commercial grows. ,What I thought was so interesting is that almost 10K people viewed this video and they went from 400w to 300w. Not real impressive, but if you went from 400w to say 150w achieving the similar footcandles would be impressive.

  • Wtf is a hpi?

  • Having watched the grows of a number of excellent growers, as well as my own, I presently believe the best companies out there for LED grow lights are Advanced and GrowStealthLED (NOT Stealthgrow). Both have good support and excellent 3w single chip led's with good spectrums. I am using growstealth 600w pro-bloom in 4x4 with great results. BS uses 2w and misses 720-760 zone spectrum for best flowering.

  • I havn't tried led's but I want to, I've been hps and mh since the 40 watt tubes of the 80's.

  • ur supposed 2 have the led's right above the plants.. about 3 or 4cm

  • @117Equinox - you sir are an idiot. The intensity of any good quality LED requires you to be 17-22 INCHES above the canopy. People really need to research the LED maker before making a purchase. There are good quality units out there.

  • @Bigfishead59 only needs t be tht high above plants if ur growin max amount of plants under the light. closer to the plant it is, the more dense buds & bigger buds u get, tried with it just fixed & with it on yoyo's & always get much better results the closer it is. im using a 300w LED for just 4 plants. i grow em str8 w/o topping as well so its better for the led to be closer to make lower buds nicer. quality wise no difference with distance of light but quantity wise u get 2-3x with it closer

  • @117Equinox That is a retarded statement. Volume of plants has nothing to do with optimal height for light intensity without burn. It appears you are using penetrator 345w led. They make claims that are so far out of this world it's unbelievable. NO light, is giving 2 x more grams per watt that HID. NONE! I love my LED, I have no intention on going HID. But I'm realistic too. When a company says they get 2 x more grams per watt over HID I run away FAST! They are not reputable. LOL @ 60d return

  • @Bigfishead59 never got burn with LED's ever. u can have the plants touching them without em burning. volume of plants has a lot to do with wavelength & lumen output from LEDs.. not on about optimal distance when talkin about volume but the most plants grown with certain wattage leds (intensity of light & available grow area)

  • @117Equinox You dont have burn because you have low intensity led. Lumen means crap to led, PAR means more. Get an LED with 3w single chip driven at 80% and put them 3-4cm away like you say and you'll fry. Wavelength has ZERO to do with volume. How can you say such dribble? Wavelength in lay mens terms is color. Lens angle and intensity (driven wattage) x # of bulbs in a given size box = area of coverage @ x height. Optimal is to fill x area (volume) at max coverage of intensity with plants.

  • @Bigfishead59 colour changes over distance due to reflection & dissipation making wavelength relevant, all led's sold on hg are high intenstiy & are what ghseeds & delicious seeds both directed me 2. LEDs put out no heat to burn & dont burn by intensity of light, it must just be strain difference cuz as with leds, cfls can also be just a few cms from plants& if you look you'll see they are 3w'. never had prob with em n average 300-400g per plant (dry) n LI LEDs wouldnt get those results.

  • @Bigfishead59 p.s. mine's from HG hydro.. i'm not 1 of these ppl complaining about em that have brought a cheap shitty 1 off ebay or amazon. I leave the comments from experience & not what i've read.. I also get much better results with cfl over hps, not quantity but quality.

  • @Bigfishead59 whats a good unit in your opinion? got a 90 watt works surprisingly well ,but would like to step up,i hear black star from cree is good

  • nothing beats hps

  • LED = Nice dark green leaves

    Lumen? PAR?....

  • @JJbones88, well I just invested in 2 x 500 watt flowering spectrum led's and they are a load of crap, not to mention a complete con and a waste of money !

  • WoW, once that 400watt MH bulb warms up it looks a hell of a lot brighter than the led panel

  • @maxpesh which doesn't really mean shit, because it's not about how bright things are or what you can see, it's about what wavelengths are usable by plants.
