If you go to the edwards instruments website and click on jazz, then on artists, you can see what type of horn he has . It's an Edwards small bore. T302 . YouTube won't let me post the link...
I've met Dave Taylor a few times. I played on the premier of Ewazen's Concertino at U of I back in '97. I was accepted to study with him for my Masters up at Manhattan School. Unfortunately, due to finances I was not able to go. He is by far an artist in every sense of the word!!
That is David Taylor. He is one of the best bass trombonists. He is known for playing jazz bass trombone. I have a recording of him playing Ewazen's Concertino for Bass Trombone and Trombone Choir. All I can say is wow! Wish I could meet him!

These 2 are the current standards for tenor and bass bone players.
It takes study, work, more study, a ton of practice, etc. Very unlike playing something that you plug into an amp and pluck or strum...

If you play, then this is really humbling.

In a cerebral way, this rocks.

david taylor is so peculiar to watch play.... after years of being told to have good posture, and he just throws that right out the window.
