Are you sure platinum is a pro color? I have seen it sold at almost every counter and regular MAC store.

Do you have any tips on how to better use platinum because its beyond messy.

well I see it on the regular site but when i got it, it was a pro pigment... sorry for the confusion.. and the best tip I have for you in using it is to use a very small brush and small amounts of the product and just take your time putting it on!
