  • 6:51 I looked up Olivia Hussey and Thelma Ritter. Crow gave her a very high compliment.

  • Wait was the finnish dude going to kill himself beside the river when he thought he was still a bear? confusing!

  • omfg i remember this one my mother and i die everytime we see it

  • "help me, obi wan kenoboski!

    i almost pissed myself XD.

  • our little idiot??? christ lol

  • so then feeble old BLIND woman climbed over 2 mountians to get some sticks? and since she is blind i am assuming she has made this journey several times before, since a person with sight whom is fully healthy would most likely get lost climbing over 2 mountians... what is wrong with the local sticks?

  • @HolyHogShit

Well, she also called her little shack her "castle", so she's probably exageratting, or more likely, utterly insane like everyone else in the movie.

  • Crow as a bear? Funny and cute.

  • Ok, they got me with the pinocchio joke too.

  • Did Kevin Murphy really take a couple of bites of that mush?

  • Crow ate half of me and then buried me in the dirt!

  • She makes Olivia Hussey look like Thelma Ritter...had to look!!

  • lol It could b just me, but Crow actually looks cute as a bear (although he looks more like a Wookiee).

  • God, are all Russo-Finish moms so pushy as to NOT let their kids speak for themselves??

  • 00:46 ...Really? "She looks like a scarecrow"??? I think if you put her stepsister in a cornfield, she'd frighten away every single bird within a 500 mile radius, with or without her makeup.

I guess that's the Hollywood Homely trope for you, though.

  • While the production is wonky, I actually really like the story in this movie.

  • This is hilarious even without the riffs !

  • "Oh geez, I stepped in my own scat." LOL!!!

  • I love Mike and Tom's muted reaction to Crow's allegedly turning into a bear.

  • 'our little idiot is really horrible looking' holy crap haha

  • "One of the greatest criminal masterminds of the 20th Century!"

"She makes Olivia Hussy look like Thelma Ritter."

  • Lol, freelance shame squad...

  • Robert Sean Leonard wants his eyebrows back!

  • 1. @4:44- 4:48,Granny tells Ivan to hurry or he'll "Catch cold," mere seconds after he said it was a very hot day!

    2. As Mike points out @ 8:31- 8:34, it's not a very good message. It would have been better if Mushroom- Guy waited to change Ivan back until after he returned Granny's stick to her, since that would have been Ivan doing a good deed simply because it was the right thing to do.

"And the Freelance Shame Squad is there!"

    "People's distress is funny!"

  • @Adamguy2003 Well, he did express empathy when learning she was blind. But I wonder why she gets so upset when Father Mushroom is mentioned...?

  • Is this movie over yet?

  • Little problem here guys...I'm a bear.

  • "Help me obi wan konoboski."

  • I must remember not to take my bear simulations to the extreme

  • The private pain of Alfred E. Newman.

  • Maybe I'm crazier than an outhouse rat.

  • Uh oh. There's a ripple in the daughter market today.

  • Bear Crow reminds me of Gromit

  • ....GRR!

  • "Cabbage burp!"

    BEAR CROW!

    "Grr."

"I suppose we should get back to being ugly!"

  • 4:30 This is how I feel with my grandfather sometimes.

    "Most bears don't carry compacts"

"And the freelance shame squad is there" "The pond scum is fleeing in terror from her face"

So what happens to other ugly people? Does Ivan have dibs? Did he use the bow on the matchmaker?

  • @fantasic50 Can't possibly be worse than a Bert I Gordon film

  • I know a lot of this is lost in translation, but my assumption is Father Mushroom was pleased that Evan at least "thought" about someone other than himself. Helping the old woman home wasn't exactly a selfless act cause he was only doing it in order for the curse to be lifted.

My favorite LOL here "Quick, someone put the dog in a dress."

  • @foxmcleod64 You may have a good point, Fox. It'd make a lot of sense in the long run.

  • @foxmcleod64 I always thought that too, that because he really meant he was going to take her the stick, THAT was what counted. This movie isn't actually all that bad...I mean it IS, but let's compare it to something like Mole Poeple...

  • Anyone else noticed the circular motion the matchmaker makes over her chest when talking about the "assets" of the evil stepsister? I think something was lost in translation... XD

  • @s1lverfalcon I think the translator didn't want to even think about it. I don't blame them.

  • "Somebody needs Viping!" LMFAO!!!

  • Bear. What a phebe.

    GRR!

  • 0:50

I love how the guys are lost for words

  • "I should return this stick."

    *Transforms*

    "Nah, better not."

  • "Hehheh... Heheh... We're gonna starve this winter." XD

  • i feel so bad for the girl :(

  • SHE CAUGHT A WATER MOCCASSIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Hahahahha...we are going to starve this winter...hahahaha...well I suppose we should go back to being ugly..." ".....lets go frighten small children" XD

  • She makes Olivia Hussey look like Thelma Ritter.

  • And the freelance shame squad is there.

  • Did they edit out Ivan returning to the grandma's house? It seems like his thoughts only make sense if he returns but discovers that her house is gone.

  • @Firesidetalker

You know, I always wondered if something was supposed to happen around there. Guess they had to edit it out. It wouldn't have been the first time the MST guys had to edit a movie to save on time.

  • "Hornets don't make honey, I found out the hard way. Oh..."

  • "Well that's taken care of, now what are you gonna do about the fact that you're FINNISH?"

  • "Someday I'll be a real boy!"

"The pond scum is fleeing in terror from her face."

    "People's distress is funny!"

"Hahaha, we're going to starve this winter."

"Maybe I'm crazier than an outhouse rat!"

"Do you have to play that tape, dad? It's a little hard on my self esteem."

  • All wicked stepmothers or pull a Cinderalla should be killed!

    Whose with me?!?

  • Comment removed

  • The Bear Crow reminds me of the time that Mike turned into a Werecrow. Was that in "Werewolf" or "I was a Teenage Werewolf?"

  • @GusF

    Werewolf

  • Crow ate half of me and then buried me in the dirt!

  • bobo is so cute lol

  • "well thanks for listening it's just my fleas got me down."

get in there you little vipor. crow-"somebody needs viping."

"forget the good deed. EAT HER!"

"mushroom guy is starting to piss me off!"

is her name nashtinka? i can't tell what they're saying lol.

  • I wish would make a plush of Crowbear. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

  • Talk about your backseat drivers....

"The pond scum is fleeing in terror from her face" She just had to go for another goose...

"Let's go frighten small children, shall we?"

9:02 So much for learning humility....

  • Uuuuuuuuugh.....hornets don't make honey; I found out the hard way.....

  • "Get in there, you little viper!"

SOMEONE NEEDS VIPING!!!! LOL! an old one, but a good one

  • Invasion of the matrushka people.

  • "Help me Obi Wan Kenoboski"

  • why is this called jack frost?

  • Whatta cruel Russo-Finish mother!!

If there was a plush Bear-Crow doll I'd buy it in a sec!!

    "Go & Do some viping!!"

  • "The private pain of Alfred E. Newman."

  • Taking my bear simulation to the extreme.

  • Yeah, they always take it to extremes, don't they? They really should stick to playing Fox and Lemur, or Bushbaby and Chipmunk.

  • "Our little idiot is really horrible-looking."

    Crow: Jeez!

  • @FlintIronstag Yeah, really! The wife and stepdaughter make Leatherface and Jason Vorhees look like Kate Moss and Tyra Banks!

    XD

  • One of the greatest criminal masterminds of the 20th century.

  • "Who did?"

What was she going to do, find Father Mushroom and beat him up?!

    XD

  • @lonelysith66 Don' mess wit' Busha, capiche?

  • @Tareltonlives LOL XD

  • Aren't Interesting things suppose to take place in a movie? I have a feeling this movie dosen't think much of us.

  • So, after helping the old woman take a pile of sticks to her house, the bear-guy has to take her a stick so she can walk... So logical! XD

  • "One of the greatest criminal minds of the 20th Century."

"She makes Olivia Hussey look like Thelma Ridder."

    LOL

i have two favorite episodes. this, and Agent Double 007.

  • "Cabbage burp."

  • Get in there you little viper! Somebody needs viping. hahaha Awesome!

  • I think it's cute how Bobo and Brain Guy are getting along.

  • "Mommy can I go play at Timmys?"

  • So if you speculate about doing good ,it's better than actually doing it?

Yes, it would have helped more if Mushroom Man had changed him into himself after he selflessly returned the walking stick to the old lady.

  • He picked up the stick with intention, but did he actually, physically return it?

  • grr

  • "Crow ate half of me and then buried me in the dirt!"

  • I know! It was sad for poor Servo, I love him.

  • "Wel I suppose we should get back to being ugly."

  • I never understood what was the deal with the role of "matchmaker" back then, wasn't that sort of thing like arranged marriages more for rich people and aristocrats?

  • @sillygrl23

Not necessarily, remember they were also in Fiddler on the Roof as well and the village people weren't swimming in loot there.

  • I think it would have been awesome if they had switched Brain Guy and Mike for the whole episode, having Brain Guy try and riff a movie woulda been hilarious.

  • Yeah, but then they'd have to switch Crow with Peanut and maybe Tom with Bobo. :)

  • Nah, have Brain Guy interact with the robots.

  • the freelance shame squad

  • " speculating about doing good is actually better than doing it?" LOL LUV that part

  • "Do you have to play that tape dad? It's hard on my self-esteem!"

  • The private pain of Alfred E Neuman.

  • someday i'll be a real boy.

forget the good deed, eat here.

and the freelance shame squad is there

    we're starve this winter.

    lets go scare small childern

  • Well thanks for listening.. its just my fleas got me down...

  • Hey at 5:56 bitch almost drowned a goose!

  • "Father Mushroom lied."

    "WHO DID?!?"

  • How *cute* is bear Crow ?

  • I agree. I wanna huggy fuzzy Crow. Mmmm warm bot snorgles.....

  • I like Shebelo Tom.

  • @penguinkiller86 ^O^ Snuggle bunny!

  • @penguinkiller86

    I want a bear Crow.

  • you know by the title "Jack Frost" i was under the impression that it would at least have to do something with winter...boy was i surprised. lol

  • Well, I may be wrong, but I think this impression of Jack Frost is actually based on a Russian fairytale of the same concept as the movie.

  • this this is adaptation of a fairy tale (russian?) but jack Frost IS it the movie! He just doesn't show up until about halfway into it ...don't worry. you'll be watching him frost trees in no time!

  • Well, the Russian take on it.

  • You know, as wacky as this flick is, it's actually a rather charming pic by itself. I heard it's shown on TV every X-Mas time in Eastern European countries (like American TV has "Charlie Brown Christmas" or "A Christmas Story" every year). It's actually an actual folk tale (a a combo of them). I admit, it's weird & makes for a great riff-fest on MST3K....but it can't really be technically a "bad" movie...just something that's odd to Westerners or those unfamiliar with the World's folktales.

  • .....It was also made in the 60's so special effects are gonna be rusty by today's standards. I think it's a fun, colorful, magical & yes, wacky as all get out. But it's really not any different than classic fairytales. On a different subject....That witch & her walking trees remind me WAY TOO much of Witchypoo & those Living Island inhabitants from "HR Pufnstuf". I swear, Baba Yaga (the witch) looks like proto-Witchypoo! I wonder if the Kroffts ever watched this for ideas way back when?.......

  • @PinkySpukiKitty1975 I think its a great movie....if they ever remake it I am sure it would be a good family film

  • If so, I'm grateful to this movie. I was crazy about Pufinstuf.

  • @PinkySpukiKitty1975 Better than us Mexican kids got-"Jesus El Nino Dios" is hilarious bad

  • Yep, it's a very famous New Year's fairy tale in Russia (New Year is celebrated like Christmas in Russia.) This movie is actually very well regarded in Russia and is always shown around winter. The reason Jack Frost doesn't show up until half way through the movie is because the script is padded out with at least four other famous Russian fairy tales, since the story of Father (jack) Frost is too bare bones to fashion a feature film out on it.

  • @Albedo238 Jack Frost isn't even the guy's real name; it's Morozko

  • "She makes Olivia Hussey look like Thelma Ritter."

I have to agree with them there.

So what we can gather, the 'ugly stepsister' can do nothing- so since she can do nothing but sleep and eat and boss others around, her Mother figures she is a perfect bride?

Of course, the big question is how someone who works like Nastenkha does can still look so 'pure.' But then, it is a fairy tale.

  • "Some day I'll be a real boy!"

Pity the fool who marries that one, ha!

  • Hey look guys, Crooooow is a furry xD

  • "And the freelance shame squad is there!"

"The pond scum is fleeing in terror from her face!"

    "People's distress is funny!"

  • "Get in there you little viper!"

    "Somebody needs viping!"

  • Mushroom guy's starting to piss me off!

  • "Help me Obi Wan Kenobosky"

  • That one gets me every time!

  • haha that one is really good.

  • "WHO DID?"

  • ha ha ha-we're gonna starve this winter.

  • "Uh oh, there's a ripple in the daughter market today."

"Thanks for listening. It's just my fleas got me down."

"Mike, help! Crow ate half of me, then buried me in the dirt."

    "Grrr."

  • lmao the Geneforge sound effects at 2:10 XD
