  • AP was using to tune, which was done by scott siegel. Great tuner. He stays conservative which is a must for daily drivers.

  • Are you using the Cobb AP for shifting?

  • I had to replace a axel on my STI before my clutch after dumping the clutch numerous times @5000+rpm, it was putting down 410RWHP and 430 lbs ft-TQ.

  • in all STi launches, it seems that you have to ride the clutch? I heard straight dumping it fucks up the diffs or some tranny component

  • @160calories

With AWD vics the torque is absorbed by the tranny and axles as opposed to RWD/FWD where the torque is absorbed by the tires burning out.

To launch AWD safely(if launching at all can be considered safe), you have to slip, but slip very fast. Its no too difficult to pick up, as this is only my third launch attempt in this video. I havent launched since..........

  • 14 people regret buying an evo.

  • are these cars really that fast? if i had 50 grand to spend idk if id get this?

  • Sweet my WRX survived this and I am not one fo the 14 others that blew the clutch

  • you change gear faster than a f1 car dude!

    ive got skills

  • @bullmore345

Thanks, but race shifting is easy in my opinion. Smooth, daily-drivingshifting is hard to pick up

  • wow i thought lauching an sti was impossible. nice!

  • wow i thought lauching an sti was impossible. nice!

  • holly fuck.... that's perfect enough for me.... i cant get it that well every time... and i dont even drive a scooby

i also agree with the dasinny111692 comment, when he says 10 people blew their clutch trying this... lil stunt

ive seen a transmission smoke completely from some idiot mistreating a subaru at a car meet...

  • WOW!!! fantastic skills..

  • @motorcycle121

Thanks. I've done more modifications since this was recorded and I will try to post another video as soon as I can get around to it.

  • description is says it all. but still a great launch ... who cares about these assholes saying shit. there sitting at home typing while your crusing in your STI 0.o

  • you guys must really suck at driving a stick

  • hate to see what the trany looks like the next sevice it gets

  • @wht240sxka its a STI not a civic, it will be fine

  • @xXJosh2014Xx doesnt mean that it doesn't need service. and nothing is bullet proof lilguy

  • @xXJosh2014Xx lol bullllllshit it will. watch the other subby launch videos.. ppl asking for motor death

  • @xXJosh2014Xx

    LOL, its not bulletproof though.

  • nice! is that stock?

  • good job

  • hell yea, someone that can drive an STI

  • @7myota damn straight! i hate the guys that can't drive for shit, driving one of these beasts!

  • FUCK 0-60 IN 3.6 SEC HOLY SHIT !!

  • @bobkin611 its kph

  • @qwertyismypass lol no its definitely mph

  • @qwertyismypass it would not only go to 160 kph

  • @qwertyismypass you're an idiot, thats a stock cluster gauge, it's MPH...the way it should be

  • @qwertyismypass also...you can see the KPH, it's the smaller digits closer to the center of the needle, try not to be so dumb

  • @qwertyismypass haha wrong again bro that's in mph

  • thats weird...my sti registers 180...

  • @awshop1995 that's because you don't live in the united states. you're thinking km.

  • @RScoobyy no actually i do live in the united states haha. i think its juat because my car was imported or something idk

  • @awshop1995 what year?

  • @Camaroson2008 its a 2002 but i dont think it has stock gagues..im not sure tho lol

  • i can smell the clutch:D

  • srsly good car

  • 0-60 in 3 seconds.. cool

  • 10 people tried and blew there clutch

  • @dasinny111692 if they tried it in their wrx they blew the transmission.

  • @dasinny111692

    their.... fixed

  • Comment removed

  • @dasinny111692 "there"

  • There went the clutch

  • @yzfr6003 the clutch on the sti is designed to take a launch like that, you could launch that thing at each red light for 2 years before the clutch would need to be replaced.

  • @SleepyMongoose If thats true then my bad I seen a buddy of mine burn his up.smoked like hell off a drop launch but, maybe his was worn a bit lol

  • @SleepyMongoose My clutch disc finally wore out around 55,000 miles. Did some SCCA events, lots of fast take-offs, and general hard driving. I didn't cook my clutch all that much, but I think the guy who owned the car for 8,000 miles before me didn't know how to drive the car. Glad the engine and transmission haven't had any issues in 5 years. I replaced the stock clutch with a slightly stiffer ACT SS organic clutch and a lighter flywheel. Next time I'll go HD.

  • @SleepyMongoose

No, this not true. Believe me, 'if' I launched 10-20 more times like this the clutch would definitely be hurting. Still driveable but limping

  • 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. That's awsome

  • 160k just like that,. that thing is a demon

  • damn tached at 8,000 @ 18 sec. other than that , good run!

  • 0-60 mph 3.5 sec

  • looks like someone set their shiftlight/beeper for launching lol

  • DAYUM my broke ass can only dream of owning one of these one day lol haha

  • 3.2 do 100 km/h

  • 8sec to 100 mph nice

  • his speedometer didn't work at the beginning.

  • ITS MPH DUDES

  • thats sick... almost as fast as a liter bike 0-100 in 8 Seconds...

  • kudos to u bro... bad ass ... i person that knows what he is doing.. bout time... he didnt bounce it off the rev limiter....!!!! he kept it in the power....

  • badass launch tho

    suby power!

  • Nearly perfect shifting. Sweet, bro!

  • I hope it's Mph, because I live in Canada and my 15 years old BMW does 0-100 KMH in 9.5 sec ;)

  • @JeyOmatix he shifts 4 times ... there is no way its in km/h.

  • @peniez800

    + 9 seconds 0-100 ?

    worlds slowest sti ;)

thats as slow as a base model forester

  • lol and then you see a cop

  • Ouch..I can smell the clutch from here! Let the clutch out faster so that its fully out by the time you hit your peak torque.

  • lovely launch on your car my friend!! i hope you don't mind I have attached some video responses from my Grey Wagon. unfortunately the Turbo doesn't spool till 4500rpm so I can't get those clean launches as I have to build 1.5 bar OR it bogs on 0 bar :(

  • NICE

  • omfg i hate when ppl comment about camera he was just showing you the fucking launch

  • sti 's have a speed limiter on them right so that means you cant go any higher than 150 right

  • holy shit!!!!

  • didnt knew WRX STi came out in automatic..

  • @loviveros

    it doesnt

  • Great respect for your shifting.

  • Awesome.....way to put a fmic on a stock turbo. What a waste.

  • damn bro nice launch.

  • That thing is pretty quick. I love the gearing. It went back to 5500 every time. That's how I want my second gear to be like. Nice vid!

  • cool

  • does all sti's have launch control?

  • @snowbanditz Nop . xD he didnt lauch control at all xD

  • nice fuckin launce man

  • NO PENIS.

  • Very nice my friend! :D

  • 10seconds to 100 wow! mod list pls wowwww

  • i just have to say "cheesetitsunclejesus" is possibly the greatest Youtube name I have ever seen.

  • @07SuperchargedSS Better than mine?

  • @myjizzureye im afraid so. you get a blue ribbon for participation and effort tho. lol

  • dude its on a fucking stand

  • fn sik!

  • You probably got whiplash from that launch

  • i bet you left a head print in the head rest after this launch lol

  • Type: " impreza with launch control"

My grey wagon will take on all comers

    ; )

  • about 4sec from 0-60 and 6sec from 60-100..wow!

  • thats def got a clutch upgrade... lol

  • nice launch is that stock sti?

  • in the norm stage 1 is either a TBE and an AP v2 or switch and have a CAI instead...but when you combine the 2 its normally stage2 unless u wanna get into the extras but thats the main basic idea

  • "Stages" differ. for manufactures, but stage two is a turbo back exhaust (3"-4") w/ programming for most.

  • damn. that's sick man. how do you do that??????

  • that jump in 1st gear to 40 was amazing

  • see now thats one of the best launches i have ever seen on youtube...keep it up...o yea please take one from out side of the car one day....

  • this 07 sti?

  • Comment removed

  • I think the suprakilla2jz was referring to 0 to 100mph and you are referring to 0 to 100kph

  • wow he meant 0-100 mph. please learn to read... initialmoe...

  • 9.1 secs not bad 0-100 is it stock?

  • Nope, Stg 2 plus an intake in this vid

Ive added more since then(FMIC,BCS, and better tune(r))

  • Whats stage 2?

  • No stage 2 is turbo back exhaust and engine management.

  • @elchicoboy

you play too much need for speed :)

  • @betrayed1 yeah i play need for speed a lot, specially the 2 version. you have a problem with that?

  • @elchicoboy

nope, but thats doesnt mean your a mechanic either.

  • @betrayed1 i know. i haven't said i'm not mechanic. are you?

  • google search cobb accessport v2 and get reading lol, its a plug in tuning device that remaps your cars computer, stage 2 being the highest tune which requires a TBE (turbo back exhaust)

  • Different aftermarket companies sell different "power stages." For the cobb accessPORT, stage 2 can just be flashed off the shelf, where as stage 2 requires a high flow intake filter and turbo-back exhaust.

  • shit that was fast! I really gotta do something to my '09 STI. Had it for 8 months and it's still stock!

  • @cheesetitsunclejesus new into the car world. Stage1, 2, 3 does that mean your changing the turbo or supercharger, or are you simply adding more boost? thanks man

  • @Ericsson787 People refer to stages when they're talking about a pre-built performance package. Usually when someone says stage 1 or 2 for subaru's, it's referring to one of the Cobb packages which don't mess with the turbo. Anyone who talks about their engine in stages and has major work done like turbo upgrades and internals more than likely paid someone to do the work AND research and has no idea what's under their hood.

  • @clgrnt

    Haha no.

    stage 1= ECU reflash.

    Stage 2=exhaust + protune.

    stage 3= Turbo swap.

  • @Ericsson787 ECU

  • @cheesetitsunclejesus what do you mean stage 2?

  • @cheesetitsunclejesus I hope it is 0-100 MPH.. :P

  • @suprakilla2JZ

    Mph not kmph

  • @liptonisalegend i know... 9.1 seconds 0-100mph.. count bro.

  • @suprakilla2JZ it actually took 4 seconds from 0-100 not 9.1 !! from 0:06 to 0:10 :)

  • The STI is a beast... i won't sleep tonight....

  • you are building no boost when you rev slow like that to get to your launch point...

if you rev quick, and let out your clutch as you're building boost, you will have more power out of the hole.

  • you have the money for STI, and don't for a solid camera? omg :)

  • thats why he cant afford a camera...because he owns a sti...

thats the same thing everyone tells my mom about her hummer

  • @jacomoncal I paid for that hummer, bitch

  • @jacomoncal People ask your mom why she cant afford a decent camera because of her hummer? Who is she sending pictures to?

  • i know the payment on mine is 450 per month. I think a camera is the last thing on my priorities list...don't know about him though!

  • @sinthetix1 maybe STI budget > camera budget lol

  • @sinthetix1 it's a STI, not lambo....

  • @coolgames14 so what? :)

  • @sinthetix1 sti cost 15k, he's not rich u know

  • @coolgames14 solid camera costs like 70 bucks -.-

  • @sinthetix1 70 bucks can be use to buy gas and oil ^^

  • @coolgames14 15k??? LMAO u can buy a civic with that NEVER an STI you idiot

  • @urtedex sti cost 15k if ur stupid enough to say CANT then ur an idiot

  • @coolgames14 you obviously don't own one and never will! let me guess you live at home with your parents. Please do your research before you open your mouth kid.

  • @urtedex and u obviously retarded, sti do cost 15k, depend on where u buy it sir

  • @coolgames14 yeah, thats a stupid comment, you find an STI for 15 grand dont buy it. It prob doesnt have a drive train haha

  • @sinthetix1 sti is what, a 30 thousand dollar car? not really applicable considering the price in the grand scheme of things

  • @sinthetix1 FUCK IT!!!!!!!!!!! I rather have an STi than a good camera

  • @sinthetix1

Maybe because he has no interests in cameras???!

  • @Kubi1993p maybe he shouldn't have interest in putting crappy vid's on youtube

  • @sinthetix1

    hmmm yeah ok agree ;P

  • @sinthetix1 duh! Cause like me, i would rather put my money into the car....

  • nice launch

  • sure as hell dont want to drop the clutch. i sense broken something there haha.

  • not gonna hurt it too much.

  • Well, yeah I know that...

I meant, is he dropping the clutch? Slipping the clutch? Dropping it to the friction point then feather off the clutch? Some detail so I don't leave the scent of a burning clutch after I drive off.

  • Hey man, awesome car, awesome name, awesome launch. I've got me a bugeye with a 6 speed swap, still trying to get used to it and AWD launches, how do you let off the clutch?

  • The correct way to let off the clutch is to release the pressure from your leg.

  • LOL

  • brilliant!

  • lol

  • i suddenly know how to drive!

  • With AWD it is best to slip the clutch and not keep in it too long but don't let out too early or you wil bog it down. If you just dump it that is REALLY hard on an AWD tranny. And I would recommend launch control it helps your car to maintain a certain RPM when launching and it helps you to not over rev your engine. Check out my WRX acceleration vid after my mods and let me know what you think.

  • thats fuckin sick.

  • sick launch

  • omg nice dude!!! tell me how you did that!!!

  • rocket

  • Wow sooooo close to perfect
