  • I love it so much ; U ;

  • i love the dub....

  • This, Black Lagoon and Death Note are all good in either language. :3

  • Well the japanes voice was better but this was pretty good ¯◡◡¯

  • why is everyone hating on dubs, i like the japanese but sometimes i get to lazy and can't read the pace of the subtitles or even look at them!that's why my trusty dubs are with me.

  • lucky star best f*cking anime ever! >:D

  • 1:47 HA!

  • Searously i prefer Subs thn dubs

  • I feel like bitchslapping the creators every time someone shows me the damn anime opening for this pile of crap. And here come the fangirls.....

  • @SergeantTomato5 Then why are you here?

  • @Funtom1214 It was sent to me,dumbass.

  • @SergeantTomato5 So, you have to watch every single thing you're sent even if you hate it?

Shut up, you always had an option not to watch this.

  • @SergeantTomato5 Uhh just for the record not everyone who is a fan of this show are all girls....Lucky Star is that popular man. :/

  • ladies and genlemen i present to you cute girls doing cute things

  • along with desu-noto, this is one of the best anime dubs. Not just because of the voices, but also the fact that they know that the music is fine as is.

    *COUGH*COUGH*DBZ*COUGH*YUGIOH*COUGH*

  • @cosmoplasma Don't hate on Falconer now... >=U

  • XD Oh i love Konata and Kagamine moments

Kagamine: awww that sucks,...i was just making some cookies to...

    Konata:................coming

  • To me it doesent matter dub or sub but dub all the chars sound 35+

  • this dub isnt bad, although i prefer the original version because...i always prefere the original

  • Aah, this brings back memories~ This was my first anime! c:

  • ¯◡◡¯

  • @FurballandTigger GUY FAWKES FACE!?

  • i love konata and i didnt even watch this! XD

  • you know, I was looking for opinions about THE SHOW! not whether you prefer sub or dub version.....

  • truly a show about nothing. TAKE NOTE SEINFELD

  • I personally like dubs better so that I can watch the show instead of having to worry about reading the subtitles.

  • The people who say they prefer subbed to dubbed are generally just trying to impress people as though they have a vast knowledge of the Japanese language, and the same may apply for those who prefer dubbed. Just be cool and like both =ω=

  • THAT'S TOTALLY OBSERD NO ONE CAN STOP AND THINK BEFORE ANSWERING A QUESTION silly kagami

  • I feel dubs lengthen the audience of anime to those who can't read, have serizures when they read subtitles, or those who simply can't focus on that sort of this too long. This is cool especially for this anime because your eyes are naturally drawn to bright colours, so it is hard to focus on the subtitles and watch the show at the same time o u o

I don't mind reading subs, but if there's an at least decent dub for it I won't mind watching it.

  • When I first got into anime I was all dubs. Eventually I found most of the animes I was watching was way a head in Japanese Sub so I tried it and liked it. However there are some I will watch in English even though I've seen it in Japanese already like Naruto and Bleach.

This isn't a horrible dub. I just prefer the sub. Konatas voice in sub is so much cuter and that's what made the series for me personally. Was Konatas moe. My two cents :p

  • the dubs arent that bad

  • I was exposed to dubs first (Digimon and Pokemon <3), but I'll take sub over a dub any day.

  • This is probably one of the best dubs I can give if asked to name great dubs. Only dub that goes over this is Azumanga Daioh.

  • For me,I mostly prefer dubs over subs. I think one of the main reasons is because I like listening to the english voice actors, considering I'm a fan of many well known and little known anime VA's. However,if there is an anime I want to watch but I know that it either doesn't have a dub or has a bad dub,I'll watch the subbed version.

  • I can't believe Guile got his butt kicked by Konata! I just know she cheated!

  • 0:38 - guile from street fighter

  • funny funny

  • i usually hate dubs, but this one is actually pretty good. of course the voices arent gonna be the same. NO ONE can ever get Konata's japanese voice exactly right, and they r totaly different people. i'll definately watch this dub. and the K-ON! one to.

  • @TheSasukefang k-on..... rocks sooo much!!!!

  • @TheSasukefang Lucky Star is one of the best english dubs comparatively speaking.

  • @TheSasukefang I like the dub too!

  • i love konata shes just like me

  • 1:08 - 1:14

    OH THE IRONY

But seriously, having seen both the dub and sub, you get used to Kagami's voice pretty quickly. That being said, it takes getting used to period.

  • WTF KAGAMI

  • @0limoli japanese voices sound even more like elementary, that's the point!

  • " I was just making some cookie too ... "

    " Coming. "

I would have done that too lol

  • This is the trailer that made me into an Otaku. I remeber i used to watch it over, and over non-stop untill the volumes came on netflix. Same with Haruhi!

  • "Do you have any friends besides us and the ones you have in video games?"

  • I'm not pointing this at anyone in particular, but... I can't help but wonder why people think putting "just my opinion" into their comments and such makes their comment any less arguable.

    "Dubs suck"

    "No they don't"

"Yeah they do cause its my opinion"

"Well its my opinion that they don't"

How many times have I seen this conversation? I will never know.

  • so cute

  • hate when they dub japanese stuff... sounds stupid after my opinion : /

  • @tikitakitu hmm, depends on the quality of the dubbed voice actor, take Hinata and Sakura's voice actors from Naruto, they're awful, but take someone like Konata's from lucky star, hers isn't that bad, so I guess it depends ;3

  • Honestly, I think whether a person prefers subs or dubs more is based on what a person is exposed to first.

I was first exposed to the dub, which has it's pros and cons. For pros, it makes the comedy of the show easier to understand. In a comedy show, its important to get the joke quick. Cons, the voices aren't necessarily perfectly matched or authentic. It really boils down to someones personal preference, but neither are bad.

I'll usually take a dub over subs. Except 4Kids. They're AWFUL

  • @LuckySmash9 I agree, finally someone that noticed

  • @LuckySmash9 Ever seen the English dub of "Cardcaptor Sakura"? Yeah, watch two minutes of it, and tell me 4kids is worse!

  • @LuckySmash9 Yes, I can say from experience, I've been exposed to dubs before subs on a fair few anime, and I can tell you, dubs are shit. The voices don't match the visuals, when they try to say something Japanese (names, for instance), it sounds ridiculously stupid, and I can come up with a whole list of other things. Subs are authentic and have real audio (and they're easier to find, too). If you prefer dubbed anime over subbed anime, there is seriously something wrong with you.

  • @blankaex Oh I can understand why you (among plenty of other people) would think that. And I agree that Subs are the more authentic experience. But, someone preferring dubs over subs doesn't mean there's something wrong with them. Sometimes people have different tastes, or are more tolerant of one thing than another. That's why we have opinions. Let's not turn this into an argument, ok? I'm only expressing my thoughts.

  • @LuckySmash9 i have to agree, whichever one i happen to click on first, for one piece, ah my goddess, and soul eater i watch the dubs. for all the others it's sub

  • @LuckySmash9

Actually comedy is ruined by dubs, often, if not always. the english crew just doesn't understand japanese jokes, or the jokes get fcked up in the translation. Aside from the obvious changes something undergoes when changing the language, there is also the part where ''feelings'' seem to be expressed better in the japanese origionals for most anime.

    ~Jkun~

  • @LuckySmash9 Uhmm, I was totally different. I watched Anime on Animax back then, and it had a lot of Dubbed Animes. That said, I was exposed to the dubs first (yes, many). However, I would like to take a sub over dubs, usually.

So, saying it like you is not always right. To me, originality is the MOST important. The dubs don't always get to what the original animes want to say, and so do the dubs for an original English shows.

It depends on what the audience like.

    To me, it's the Originality.

  • @LuckySmash9 Not quite. The first Anime I watched was stuff like Pokemon and dragonball z and watched them both dubbed, I only go into subbed when Naruto started. I still watch Pokeomn and Dragonball Z in English cos those are, in my opinion, the only show where the english voices fit better then the Japanese voices.

  • @LuckySmash9 you sir are the biggest pussy faggot to have to ever walked this Earth. Why don't you take your bitch American fat ass and watch the real thing. This shit makes sick to my stomach, it fucking saddens that a fucking person cant read at all. I mean give me a fucking break, you seriously cant spend the time reading subs, you lazy sack of shit.

  • @MitsuruXIII No, some people, like me cant multitask so they cant watch the anime with out reading everything.

  • @LuckySmash9 I agree with you! :3

  • @LuckySmash9 You have a point. I was brought to the world of Anime by Toonami so I'm usually pretty tolerant of dubs.

  • @marillblu @oreowizard1 Are you guys done?

  • @RandomDetritus

Lol. Yes. He seems to have valid reasons at least. So all's good.

  • @marillblu I mean of all the things to argue about... lol

  • Anime was not created to be dubbed... Dubs SUCK ... I had hoped they did a good job at least with this anime... Once again I fail =/

  • @veggievegetarian

that's your opinion. American shows aren't suppose to be shown around the world but they do.

  • @Dramactica I said anime in the comment. But anyways you are indeed right, its my humble opinion. But i also think american shows shouldnt be dubbed. Dubs suck, big time... Thats why subtitles exist ^_^

  • @veggievegetarian Not all dubs suck.

  • @seg162 Most of them anyways.

  • @veggievegetarian The only dubs that truly sucked (to my mind) were that of Sonic X, which was dubbed by 4Kids. If nearly everyone who has watched a dubbed anime say that it sucks, then it does. But in this case, you have the people who adore it, those who like it, those who are OK with it, those who are NOT ok with it, and those who detest them. As a result, there is no "Dubs suck", but instead "I think that these dubs suck".

  • @seg162 Considering the fact that I was expressing my mind and point of view Dubs DO SUCK, but if I had to take in mind the opinion and perspective of others, then I guess you would be right. But dubs still suck ^_^ I mean look at this trailer thing! the voice of konata doesnt fit with her character AT ALL and it has no soul no life, no nothing, just a voice!! But again this is my opinion ^_^ those who want to watch such a thing... *shrugs* its their ears and their time = )

  • @veggievegetarian "But dubs still suck ^_^*"

    *-- In my opinion

Please explain to me your fourth sentence.

  • and yet another ruin anime

  • As a general rule I like Subs better; however, for Lucky Star, I think that it is a lot funnier in dubbed. So far my only criticisms of the dub have to do with "Lucky Channel":

    1. The pink haired character sounds so much better in the Sub.

    2. In the dub they keep mispronouncing "tsundere" so that is sounds like "tsundara?!?" That got on my nerves really fast. How hard is it to pronounce the few Japanese words used in the dub correctly?

Other than that, I love the dub.

  • (CONT) ". And when they do try to be more like Japan by releasing Anime they bitch and wine by saying "WTF the voices aren't kawaii Anime should stay in Japan".

  • I'm sick to death of Weaboos saying the dub of this (and most other is Animes) is bad just because the voices aren't "kawaii". The voices fit the characters IMO Konatas voice is very fitting for a nerd girl and fits her personality pretty well Kagamis voice suits her serious almost bitchy attitude and Akiras voice is spot on etc. The voice acting could be better but it could be a whole lot worse. And whats funny is that most Weaboos say things like "I wish America was more like Japan

  • @Ringworm1281 Ironically, most Japanese like our dubs.

  • Ya know, i actually think the dub wasn't half bad. And i actually like Konata's english VA. Meh, just me.

  • no offense to those dubbers, but they dubbed it really crappy. couldn't they have tried A BIT harder into making it sound better? especially konata? cuz aya hirano makes her voice and can change it when ever and it still sounds good and konata's english voice sounds very bad, even when she's the funniest character there in the anime, the english dubbers made everything sound pretty crappy

  • Kagamin and Kona-chan's voices are okay... I guess.

  • Its hard to remember their in high school....

  • Ashburn48 LIES!!!!!!

  • the world is ending as we know...

  • Wait what channel did this come on in america? and when did this happen? is there a channel still running reruns of this show?

  • they sound like 8 year olds X3

  • @SaphfirePower They look like 8 year olds

  • Im coming :3

  • I love lucky Star but the dubs are terrible (my opinion) so i really do reccommend the subs...

  • @KingDrizzt17815 all anime dubs are terrible

  • @ashburn48 That's not true at all ._.

They're plenty of great dubs out there. :D

  • konata sounds like georgie from shin-chan XD

  • 1:08 is an irony cuz the lucky star voices don't match the anime AT ALL XP

    <3 lucky star tho

  • Konata is officially the girl version of me.

  • @AkasakaFTW she is the version of me...only with blue hair....but i have the wig!

  • @AkasakaFTW all she needs to do is masturbate 24/7

    Kagamis is...o....o

    TSUKASA IS THE BEST XS

  • lol 0:45 thumbs up :D

  • how.! i like

  • What's funny is that I read that this received HIGH PRAISES from the Japanese and that they would much rather see it in English than in the original.

So much for "DUBS SUCK", eh? :P

  • i'm love it. XD

  • This show is the baby of 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' and 'Azumanga Daioh'. ¯¯ω¯¯

  • 1:07-1:14

People should think this way about dubs >_>

  • @Nickcool1996 That's kinda how I thought about it.

  • coming ( = ^ =)

  • Stick with the japanese original version

  • @hsm1troy I agreed. >.<

  • @hsm1troy Weeaboo much?

  • i go to a lucky star video....and i see oprah....FUCK YOU ADS

  • this makes no sense but still AWESOME

  • i like to watch sub better, but this trailer is so cute :3

  • why do people just flame dubs there fine i could care less watching dub or sub

  • lol i like it but i do think the japanese verasion is best. i only wish i could understand what they were saying without needing subtitles. are they airing this on t.v? in canada and the states? i think that they should.

  • @gamergirl22816 To my knowlege this only ever aired in Japan and still gets regular re-runs over there. It didnt air anywhere else and was only released direct to DVD if I am not mistaken.

  • The dub sucks. Nothing is better than the original voices. And for the guy that said " the English is a superior language" he is absolutely wrong, the English is one of the easiest languages in the world. Languages like Spanish and Japanese are much more complex and superiors

  • @Zacuf01 Actually I think English is one of the hardest languages to learn. Japanese is very simple in comparison but it more than makes up for it with its elaborate writing system. I mean yeah it's got hiragana and katakana which are easy, but kanji are so in depth and fascinating which makes Japanese my favourite language to study.

Though I do agree that Japanese is a vastly superior language and that Japanese anime shouldn't be dubbed, but just be thankful they kept the Japanese theme.

  • @NingyoAijin "Actually I think English is one of the hardest languages to learn. "

You're seriously out of your mind. English is one of the easiest languages out there!!

  • @vlptr You only think that because English is your native language. Ask anyone who isn't natively English who has learnt English and another language aside from their own and I can guarantee that they'll say English is the more difficult one.

  • @NingyoAijin i guess your "theory" just collapsed like a house of cards, because my native language is Dutch, plus I graduated in French and German. Both German and especially Dutch are wayyyy more complicated. An example; in English, the plural is usually formed with the addition of -s or -es. In Dutch it can be: en, s, 's, nen, eren.

  • kind - kind(eren)

    school - scho(o)l(en)

    knie - knie(ën)

    lat-lat(ten)

    brief-brie(ven)

    kleinood - klein(odiën)

    koe- koeien

    genius - geni(eën)

    raad - raad(gevingen)

  • And more exeptions:

    epos - epen

    genius - genieën

    leerrede - leerrede(nen)

    vlo - vlo(oien)

And I can go on and on. And that's just plurals! You have no clue how complicated the Dutch language is compared to English and we see many of the same difficulties in German. I say it again; English is one of the easiest languages out there.

  • @vlptr Screw the Dutch language. Finnish is IMPOSSIBLE.

  • @vlptr Yeah, I guess it's true. When you don't look at verb constructions.

  • Comment removed

  • @Zacuf01 Question: Is it because you think the Japanese actors were better at the voices or because the actors are Japanese? Choose wisely. Pick one choice, you're a disliked purist. The other, a despised weeaboo.

  • @zoidsmaniac If i understand the question, i think the japanese actors were better at the voices, i mean, Konata's original voice fix better to the character...

But acctuali, it isn't such an important thing XD some people like the dub, some people rather the original voices.

  • @Zacuf01 Yeah, that's what I meant. See, that's the thing with a comments section, you've got to clarify everything so you know what's what. XD And I do agree that the Japanese version of this is better. But the dub wasn't half bad, in fact, it's probably one of the better ones I've heard. If you want to see a really bad dub, look up "Devilman English OVA". Once you hear that, this'll seem like a masterpiece for a dub. XD

  • @zoidsmaniac Well, i realy can't compare this one to other dub because i only download the original version, and i don't live in USA so i don't watch it on TV XD... but you are right about the comments section.

i'll be glad to add you as a friend ^^

  • @Zacuf01 yeah...English is actually one of the hardest languages to learn

  • @Zacuf01

Oh god, English is the absolute hardest language to learn because of how complex it is.

  • @bamnick77

Well, i disagree, english is actually very simple if you compare it with other languages

  • @Zacuf01 acctually if you look at the rules and relations of words english is easy its just different from others

  • "OH that sux" xD lmao

  • Look people! Don't comment on a video you don't like! First off, why did you click it if you hate it?! English dubs are awesome! I can understand them! I don't have to pause to read subs! English Is a far more superior language! Go watch your subs and stay away from these videos!!!

  • I love how I need to watch an ad for an ad.

  • lol i just baked some cookies too..... im coming.... LOL

  • Japanese version is clearly superior.
