I write this through my tears of gratitude for the talent Clarence illuminated. Thank you for posting this tribute. Perhaps I'm biased, bit I speak for millions of fans in saying this is an absolutely brilliant piece.
I lived in Boston in the '70's. At the time that historic city was torn by racial strife as people were struggling with school bussing as a solution for achieving de-facto integration. During that time Born To Run was released. Art doesn't seem to get much credit from newsmakers, reporters and politicians, but it seems to me that Clarence's saxophone woke up a lot of hearts, and did as much, probably more than anyone, with the possible exception of King and the Kennedys to promote true harmony.
easternlights....as a fan you may have already seen (and heard) it, but Clarence's short sax solo at the end of The River on LINYC is simply breath taking. If you have not heard it, you must check it out! (it is on youtube) It's almost as good as his solo at the end of Secret Garden...almost lol. The man was a master at his craft and thanks to the E Street Band, he was able to touch millions and millions of people. RIP Clarence, you are lost but not forgotten.
@kwazdukes Of course I know that solo piece, it is really astounding! :) I'm the proud owner of all the Bruce concert DVDs and the version of The River on that record/DVD is maybe one of the best I've ever heard. Thanks for watching and keeping the Big Man alive ;)
@easternlights Have you heard of the site greasylake . org? Check it out if not. They have a really good discussion forum and the people there are extremelly nice. From the homepage, click on Community then The Circuit. I think you will enjoy it! One of the best Springsteen fan sites around!

Beautiful pictures of 'our' big man! Thank you for that. I wonder, will the E-Street Band overcome this loss?

Bruce and E-street Band are uniques. They are adorable.
I´ve been a Bruce fan for 26 years.
when I heard him in 1985, was blown away and since then is my god.
But E-Street Band is fantastic...and Clarence is a great loss for the band
