Great to hear the name: Pursuit of Happiness again!
All Hail, Canadian bands. Blue Rodeo...one of the longest lasting for sure, along with "The Hip" and Rush. I don't think Nickelback will last as long (LOL)
The boys from BR taped this outside in what looks like the dead of winter, playing their instruments *with their bare hands*. They are so bad@ss in their mild, Canadian way.
Canadian rock is the best in the world !! Each band has its own sound ! In other countries they try to sound the same. Blue rodeo rules ! the guy on top named a lot of good bands . lets not forget Loverboy and Bryan Adams
@Stjonnypopo can somebody tell me how bob wiseman got that particular organ sound when he was in blue rodeo?? ....that sort of "crying" sound on the outskirts and diamond mine album mainly
One of my all time faves of BR along with Diamond Mine..bleh who am I kidding picking one fave of this band is like saying you have a couple fave AC/DC songs which is absurd...lol
Hmm whats the dif? can or amer band are both awesome.. One of the best teen band ( simple plan ( suck) ) is canadian.. Celine Dion is Can, Thx, and nice song xD
Spent some time in Vancouver early 90's. These guys and Tom Cochrane were pretty big at the time. This song was a particular fav for me and the girl I was in Canada for to begin with. By the time I got back to Australia , Tom was being played a lot. But not BR. Goes to show how we're only spoonfed certain music by the record companies. I'm certain this group would've been equally big here if they were given a break. Never heard them on radio since leaving Canada!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have such pride for Canadian bands... Blue rodeo, rush, neil young, triumph, tom cochrane, guess who, half of the band, kim mitchell, BTO, april wine, chilLiwack, colin james, jeff healey, the trajically hip, barenaked ladies just to name a few (hehe)
And for some reason I tend to like canadian rock more in general than american rock (maybe not british), maybe i'm just biased, but it's so good!
Well, trooper rocks as well but these guyz got a great sound which brings out the songwriting to the max....since the beginning, their songs (they have great material to choose from) defined that "Canadian" sound....
@Stjonnypopo don't forget Daniel Lanois and The Cowboy Junkies... somethin' about the Canadian "spin" on country that's SO much more soulful than most American crap. I say this as an American music aficionado
This video was shot in Sydney, Nova Scotia in the winter 1990/91. Sydney was a concert date for the Casino Tour that winter. The video was shot in the former steelplant grounds near the Sydney Tar Ponds
Was introduced to these guys when I spent 6 months in Vancouver all the way from Perth Aus. Great song, great city. Pity that canuck girl spoilt it all by breaking my fucking heart!
how to prove that blue rodeo is not only canadian, but extremely bad ass: they're the only band i can think of who actually films themselves playing on a frozen body of water in the canadian winter for a 3:40 video with very little winter gear
Parts of this were practically shot in my backyard in the Whitney Pier are of Sydney NS. Note the remains of the Sysco Coke Ovens as the backdrop at around 1:20 of the vid. Great to see this.

Don't know why anyone cares what country a band comes from. It's nice to know the band history but it shouldn't influence anyone's choice of music.
