Sadly, mine one turned out to be very loose, and also for some reason sugar didn't melt at all. It looks really delicious on the video, but it turned out really bad for me. Not sure what I did wrong :/
Dear Manjula ji, i've been looking for besan ki laddoo's recipe and finally your one seems perfect to me :)) i'll try it soon. You do a great job creating these cooking videos. Thank you very very much.
ive have been searching for some indian sweets recipes and came across your videos on youtube, i look forward to starting to make them. I have never done them before and will tr my best, your videos are ideal :)
Thanks so much for posting authentic recipes. One question though, why is that the video calls 4 tablespoons of sooji while the website link for the recipe states 2 tablespoons? Can we use either or is one wrong?
Hi manjula thank u so much for u r recepei, i knew how to make the laddo, but i had some doubts which are clear now, well i have a ? for u, i need to make the laddos and send it to my aunt who is in another state, its a 3 days journey so are there any precaustion to be taken, as such, are there are preservaties to be added in this recipie, so it does,nt spoil and will be there for atleast two to three weeks.
Last for 10 days...ha, not at my house, 10 mins maybe (giggle). I just now saw the recipe from you, auntie and decided to go make some right away. Oh, my how wonderful they are. Your recipe is just perfect! I too had some trouble getting the laddoos to hold for me, but not problem, just wet your hands well and you are good to go! Thanks for all your fabulous recipes and helping me to feed my family healthfully.

Aunty i faced exact problem with abcekta (third post) and then tried searching for solution on your website as stated but couldnt find it...Aunty could you please give me a solution. I can neither throw it nor can i finish it as i am pregnant. I thought of adding an essence to suppress the raw besan taste.
Thanks for the wonderful recipes. Mashallah all turn out to be yummy. Can you teach us how to make "Shahi Tukre" also known as "Double(Bread) ka meetha".Thanks again.
i tried besan ladoo with same receipe and measurements but the mixture turned out to bit liquidy and i was not able to make them as ladoos where did i go wrong or what could be done in such a case plz help
hello aunty..thank you so much for the recipe.. but when i tried making it the besan remained powdery throughout..cudn't make ladoos out if it..finally added milk in panic..!! turned out gud though..
I tried this but initally while frying besan, it formed a stiky paste. So I kept adding more besan and sooji till it started looking like yours. I roasted it and was able to make it into firm ladoos but they dont taste well. I can still taste the raw besan taste. They get soft enough if i microwave them. Can i correct them now by roasting the mix again on stove for a while and reshaping them into laddos. How do I know besan is done? I was getting a sweet smell when I did it earlier
hi aunty , tried them today ..came out wonderful :) , can u pls tell me whether we shld keep this in frigde? or outside in air tight container? would really appreciate your reply it as i dont want to spoil them :) thanks a lot
Hello! so that looks mouthwatering, thank you for posting it. I do have one question...when you took the mix off the stove it looked a little clumpy but you have a smooth paste while you added the sugar....does that happen with kneading? or would I need to add some liquid ingredient to achieve it? Thank you
hello aunty, i have a question. is it possible to replace the sooji with something else? my husband cannot have anything made from wheat, so if i use sooji then he won't be able to eat it.
I have started a diet. Can I substitute I love its not butter or margarine in place of real butter/ghee.?I know taste will differ but really want to try this.
I suffer from a gastro disease(UC) and have very limited food choices. But i was amazed at the recipes u make. Many are suitable for me since u don't use garlic, onions and the ingredients r so simple. Thanks!
Yes, I would luv to try not one but all. My mouth is watering. U explain ur recipes so easily n clearly, n moreover the list of ingredients in the info section is so great. U make cooking so easy for all. Can't thank u enough. May God Bless u n ur family always.

Thanks so much for the recipe aunty! I recently found your recipes and am a fan. this is the first one i tried! worked out great!
to anybody who's laddoos weren't staying in one place - use a bit more butter - i saw my mixture was a bit dry so i added some and your hand really has to be very firm when you make them into balls!
thankyou so much for sharing this great recipe .. i've question that how can i store these ladoos and for how long, thankyou so much for your time and really appreciate your reply..takecare.
Can i prepare this in microwave? if yes for how long? As i am a working lady i hardly get time to make sweet dishes and cant be near the stove stirring it for long :(
Dear Auntyji, thank you very much for being so kind to share your recipies! Im not an Indian, but my husband is Indian, and like most Indians he is very happy to eat home-made indian food cooked by his wife. Im still a beginner in Indian cookery, but now that i 'discovered' your videos, I'll learn very well and much easier. Bhagawan aap ko kush rakhe!
I made some, and well.. i nearly had a disaster... but then i managed to rescue them, i decided to use margarine rather then butter as it would have been better... but the margarine just dried up then i had to add some butter on top.
Also i think they were too dry to roll into balls to i used some cling film and filled a spoonful of the mixture on it then i made it round with my hand and left it 4 a while. they stayed round
I love them but here in the uk its a bit difficult to get them, as they are rated as less then motichoor ke lado, as its ramzaan its great timing i will inshAllah make it and let u know of my progress! - Dadi Jaan
looking at the video, i got a craving for ladoos and made some today, they came out so well and perfect, not too sweet. the only problem was it was little too dry and they used to break when i tried to make ladoos. i tried making them when the basan was warm, but still it was dry.
Auntie...ALL your recipes. are "TOP-NOTCH"!!!...Easy to understand and informative...(You're a great teacher!!!) Your family is really lucky to have you as their resident chef!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, Mrs. Jain. I have never tasted these before, so I'm looking forward to making them. It looks like an easy recipe IF the directions are followed exactly. Healthful, too. All of your dishes build health.
almost the same for burfee you need to make the sugar syrup 1 thread. when you syrup and basen mix basen should be at room tep. and syrup should be hot.

Looks great!
Two questions though:
Can I use oil insead of ghee?
Presumably sooji (semolina) is for texture? Can I just replace it with more besan (I am coeliac)?
Anyone?
ADumbUsername 2 years ago
Answer to your first question:
No, butter or ghee will harden and set at room temp. If you use oil the ladoos will go flat.
Second question:
Yes, you can replace sooji with more besan.

That was fantastic - but isn't there a way of frying it?

Aunty,
I made some, and well.. i nearly had a disaster... but then i managed to rescue them, i decided to use margarine rather then butter as it would have been better... but the margarine just dried up then i had to add some butter on top.
Also i think they were too dry to roll into balls to i used some cling film and filled a spoonful of the mixture on it then i made it round with my hand and left it 4 a while. they stayed round
they turned out yummm - Dadi Jaan

Hello Aunty,
looking at the video, i got a craving for ladoos and made some today, they came out so well and perfect, not too sweet. the only problem was it was little too dry and they used to break when i tried to make ladoos. i tried making them when the basan was warm, but still it was dry.
Maggie131984 3 years ago
next time add little more butter.

Thank you so much, Mrs. Jain. I have never tasted these before, so I'm looking forward to making them. It looks like an easy recipe IF the directions are followed exactly. Healthful, too. All of your dishes build health.
I'm so glad I "discovered" you. You're a marvel.

When you stir in the sugar, does it disolve? I've tried making ladoos before, but I dont like the crunchy texture from the sugar not disolving.
Evange 3 years ago
you have to mix the sugar while basen is still warm but not hot. you should not feel the sugar crunch.
Manjulaskitchen 3 years ago
gram flour = chickpea?
Evange 3 years ago
No thats a different thing. Gramflour is also known as Besan in Hindi

hey munjula aunty, i just wanted to kno if this recipie is the same for besan di berfi
winniebearlova9889 3 years ago
almost the same for burfee you need to make the sugar syrup 1 thread. when you syrup and basen mix basen should be at room tep. and syrup should be hot.
Manjulaskitchen 3 years ago

I really appreciate learning the Hindu? words for the ingredients you use in your recipes.
Squeezing and then patting the mixture is a great technique for creating symmetrical "balls".

This looks delicious! I wonder if it is possible to experiment with different flavorings, such as lemon, etc. I will try your recipe very soon.
