The original is GOOD. Not saying this one isn't, but what I *don't* like is the recycling (4:48 onwards) of the main hook from Boom Jinx & Jaytech - Milano. It's just transposed to a higher note.
@liquidtunes You're wrong. It does have the same scale though; the same notes but in a different rhythm and order. There are similarities, but not enough to determine that it's inspired, and certainly not recycled.
@TheCaoth Nice to get an educated reply, but here's an explanation:
a. Milano precedes Moth; b. both tracks are a Jaytech collab and c. you cannot discount that Mr. Cayzer aka Jaytech didn't already have that hook in his head when he was producing Moth. It's a good hook (or whatever it's called) so who's to say it couldn't be tweaked and reused?
@liquidtunes I see you know what you're talking about, but the hook isn't used in the original Moth, so unless I've missed something, Martin Roth should be the creator of this melody. And the resemblance wouldn't be all that coincidental as it's just composed of four notes in a row on the major scale (white notes).
@TheCaoth Ah yes, Martin Roth is responsible and if I remember correctly I think that's why I wasn't pleased because it sounded so similar to Milano. So there I was thinking, "They've just built on the original melody from Moth and made it similar to Milano." Well, given that it's Roth who made this (cuz I don't know any different either) then I shall have to let it rest and say such things happen, though it's not something I like [Ref: Dinka re-hashing their old melody structures]
@liquidtunes I can tell you're more musical than the vast majority ;) And yes, Dinka is one of my favorite artists, and although his tracks are very well-produced, they're very much alike in drums, chord progression and melodies.
Oh, and I've learned that Dinka is basically Christian Beat Hirt (who also produces for Chris Reece, Leventina, Helvetic Nerds, EDX, Daniel Portman, Passenger 10), with Tamara Maria Hunkeler being the DJ and front figure.
@TheCaoth Could say the same about you, and you write better than most; not lyk dis.
I too believe that Mr. Hirt produces while Ms. Hunkeler DJs; what makes me laugh is all the people raving about her and the music when in fact it's Christian producing the tracks.
@benor1893 Martin Roth would take i'd say about 60% of the credit for this one here.. has a ring of the original in it but it's completely remapped... Love it
This is incredible. Absolutely amazing!
