@beaverpride19 downhill bikes are way better up at whistler... this bike wont do well there at all, rent a demo bike like a v10 and youll notice the difference right away, not to mention speed difference and confidence in rock gardens with downhill rigs
Old Slayer (SXC w LC2R+DHX) can def climb well and descends great. I have several bikes. If I had to just have one, I'd say the Slayer was a little heavy, but it might be the one I kept. Not sure how much the new frame weighs vs the old, but it's tough to get the SXC to 30lbs and keep it strong enough to make the most of the frame. I guess it's fair to say it would make a great only bike if you're into lots of gnar all the time and pedal to get to it. For reg trails its overkill - but FUN!

1 with a better bike u will carry more speed and confidence
2 u will have more confidence with a full face and also get more protection
3 buy a pair of knee and shins for even more confidence

How would this bike do in a more downhill environment, like whistler?

Where in squamish? Those rock rides look wicked. The slayer is an amazing bike and rocky has always been awesome to me whenever I break it.

Sick bike! I rode with Wade while he was in Squamish doing a demo day, super cool guy! Can't wait to try the bike out next year!
