They did not copy vampire weekend. I don't know what you've been listening too, but Vampire Weekend is a totally different sound. But if it's any consolation, the lead singers of Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend (Wes Miles, Ezra Koenig) were in a band together in middle school.

Saw Ra Ra Riot at Bumbershoot and then again in Seattle last month THEY WERE AMAZING LIVE - Best concert I've been to.
