@GreatWhiteHyype But there is still more disturbance on the "cushion" than there would be just opening the tailgate. Tailgate down still means less drag, although a tonno would be the least
1/8 mile race doesn't prove anything other than gearing..run a full 1/4 and the viper will win. The viper is made for high speed, not dragging from a stop.
I have a 2011 tundra double cab with 5.7 it runs 14.3 at 95mph 1/4 mile and a 9.1 at 75mph in 1/8 mile and that's completely stock other than leveling spacers in the front. With that said obviously a regular cab will do better than that. Tundra's are not race cars but they are fast for a stock heavy truck.
AND the Tundra did a 1.9 60ft in open differential mode. Just let some psi out, heat the tires up and use some throttle control out of the hole. Can't just bury the pedal when the light turns green.
Bottom line. Tundra had T/C turned off, 2wd, simple bolt-ons and 275/55-20 Bridgestone Duelers. The Viper is not the only sports car that truck has beat. People need to understand that the combination of a 6-spd auto trans, heavy truck with some weight transfer, steep gears and good torque will give alot of Manual sports cars a run for their money in the 1/8th mile. Sometimes the simple set-ups are the ones that run the best when it comes to 1/8th mi street car drag racing.
@dastallion420951 what's his attitude got to do with ford people dude? i'm not on his side but that made you look stupid. you do know toyota and ford are working together on a project right? just saying

@northerncustomsracin Really? Racist much you dumb fuck? Those cars you're talking about were made in America. And have you seen a major Japanese auto manufacturer go bankrupt. I didnt think so. You feel like a dumbass right? Wanna know why? Cause you are. haha.
@northerncustomsracin actually ur retarded it wasnt due to the floor mats if you knew anything about cars, and actually were literate, it happened because on those cars there drive by wire, instead of throttle cable. Toyotas are actually nice vehicles, im gonna venture n say ur a ford guy.. u got that attitude. So im curious what u drive that makes you soo more special then toyota people.
and you, you're right about that as well, and if people managed to get themselves killed in these vehicles, then by god they probably should have been, at least have the smarts to do something, anything, because id rather blow the engine or kill the ignition than be rolling at about 100 mph into something, for the love of god.... stopping, its what brakes are made for.
Tundra is 4wd but that tundra was not in 4wd its called traction control my friend and its electronic...Toyota never spin wheel or lose traction EVER!
@bigfred64 im sorry to say your wrong... my 2009 5.7 liter 4x4 supercharged tundra with traction control on! has traction control every once in a while and by that i mean atleast once a day where I drive.
@partyfriek I couldn't spin the rear tires under dramatic torque braking with my stock tires with the lightest and smallest tundra available with the largest engine. 2 Wheels scratching is enough with this output. Still the earliest Viper VS the best stock latest gen tundra shouldn't be this way. I'd say the viper should win by around a full second in a 1/4 mile. Makes me wonder if this was a supercharged Tundra or the viper left the e-brake up or maybe he missed a shift in the viper.
Also, why don't you just answer the dude's question about your trap speed? Are you embarassed? Don't post a video of your car at a race track and NOT post the times.... Let's see the ET and trap. I'm guessing the trap is around 74 mph.
@Meaty69Camaro My Mustang traps in the 80s and I paid 800 bucks for the car. 80% of the mods are junkyard parts. But most people would definitely rather pay $50,000 than $3,000 for the same performance so I can see the appeal of the Tundra. I'm guessing the Tundra is supercharged or has a bottle? I defintiely don't have any mods that extreme.
@gtdrummerdude I watched a couple of your vids where you dont post times, does that make you a faggot too? A single cab 2007 Tundra costs nowhere near $50k, not even half of that. It's not a "Performance Vehicle". It's made to tow and perform other truck like duties. If you consider a Volant Cold Air Intake and a Flowmaster SUV muffler Extreme mods, then you haven't watched The Fast and The Furious!
@Meaty69Camaro According to KBB, a used 2007 Tundra regular cab 5.7L 2WD with 51,000 miles and NO options is $19,100. That's the most basic you can get besides the 5.7L engine and used. You're telling me a brand new one only costs $5,000 more? Don't think so.
@Meaty69Camaro And this truck doesn't trap in the 80s 1/8th mile with an intake and muffler. I've seen several of them at the local dragstrip. The one I remember best was a regular cab 2WD with 5.7 engine/6 spd AT with at least exhaust trapping 96 mph in the 1/4 which is about 74 mph in the 1/8th. The ones trapping in the 80s 1/8th mile are supercharged with bolt-ons or bottle
@gtdrummerdude It has exactly what he says it has, and it traps in the 80s. Sorry if the ones you see are slower, that's not my fault. It also traps higher than 96mph in the 1/4.
@gtdrummerdude Oh wait, I removed the spare tire too. Does that count as a mod? If the Tundras @ your track are trapping 74mph in the 1/8th mi, then they are a disgrace to 5.7 RC Tundras worldwide. OR you can consider the many variables like track prep , temp and altittude. Our track is always sticky and IS at Sea Level. This IS my Daily Driver/Work Vehicle, I have no reason to lie about it.
@gtdrummerdude Nope, I stated that a 2007 Tundra Costs less than half of $50k, which your KBB research proved my point right. This is not 2007, nor was this vid taken in 2007. It's actually my truck and I paid $16.5k for it with 17k miles in 2009 (way under kbb value). May be more than your Mustang, but sure as hell not $50k brand new. More like upper 20's off the lot.
1/8th mile is all traction, run any farther and the Tundra loses by a BUS. The video doesn't even definitively show the win. What were the traps speeds of both vehicles?
@thetravdawg The winning lights come on in the left lane, so it does show a definitive win by the Tundra. Also, in an a 1/8th mile drag race it doesn't really matter what happens AFTER the 1/8th mile, so your point is moot.
You didn't answer my question, what were the trap speeds of both vehicles? You may have won the little 1/8th mile but I would wager the Viper's speed was higher.
Racing the 1/8th mile is WEAK. That's like going 0-60. WHO cares.
@thetravdawg Trap speed means nothing. Heck, ET means nothing. All that matter is who crosses the line first, and in this case the Tundra does. I like to live my life an eighth mile at a time, proven by this video that I shot. Go tell the ADRL that their 1/8th mile drag racing means nothing. I'll allow you some time to look up what the ADRL is.
I might care about ADRL if they had any events anywhere near me. I'm sure they don't care about ETs or trap speeds do they since they post the record holders on their site for both ET and trap speeds.
The trap speeds would tell whether I should compliment the Tundra or not for beating a Viper that spun out. You're right the video is definitive on your victory but without ETs and trap speeds the video just shows you out drove a Viper.
@mranaya92 But when you are at an 1/8th mile only track (which this one is), nothing else matters. Now since everyone thinks the Tundy is a 4x4, he could have gone through the sand pits at the end and went another 1/8mi and still would have won a 1/4mi race.
@mranaya92 Welcome to ZFSix's "Drag Racing 101." When drag racing; reaction time, traction, and power are probably the most important things. Ask any racer, any real racer and he or she will tell you that the beginning of the race is key to getting a victory, as evident in this video. The average Joe (you) prefers the 1/4 mile because his car isn't set up good enough to win in the 1/8th and he needs the extra track to come around the car that just killed him off the line.
@ZFSix The car that wins on the top end/has a faster trap speed is the faster car, hands down. You can say that you beat a car through the traps, but if his trap is faster he has the faster car. I am a real racer, i'm at the drags almost every week and I built my motor, trans and rear end in the garage. Faster trap= faster car. 1/8th mile racing is acceptable for cars that are setup for 1/8th mile drags. For street cars, 1/8th mile is pussy and is the ricer way of being able to say you won.
@gtdrummerdude That's funny, so whoever makes it to the line first is completely irrelevant? Yeah, that makes sense. I don't care if you built your own car from scratch using newspaper and hot glue, you still don't know what you're talking about.
@ZFSix I didn't say whoever goes through the traps first is irrelevant, I said whichever car has the higher trap is the faster car. Not necessarily the winner of that race, but faster no doubt. Trap speed is the true indicator of performance. It has a direct correlation to the vehicle's power-weight ratio and is hardly affected by traction. ET is affected by many factors besides power-weight. Simple concept. A viper is faster than a Tundra for Pete's sake. Stupid argument.
@gtdrummerdude Sure, trap speed is important. What you seem to be forgetting is whoever gets to the line first, wins. I never said "THIS TUNDRA IS WAY FASTER THAN A VIPER!" I posted a video of my good buddy doing a Viper dirty at the track, which cannot be argued. You got one thing right, it's a stupid argument. A Viper has more HP and weighs less than a Tundra, but saying it's faster than a Tundra is proven otherwise by my video. You can keep trying to argue and look even worse.
@gtdrummerdude Also, the Tundra isn't "setup" for 1/8mi drag, 1/4mi drag or any kind of drag. It's a 5k lb truck with the aerodynamics of a brick. But I have seen it beat modded GTs, Stockish LS1's, BBC Monte Carlo etc etc. So taking that into consideration, anyone who isn't impressed by the performance of this truck is just a hater.
A wise man once told me "spinnin aint winnin" and "It doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile, a win is a win". Now that being said, a 5000 lb v8 truck agains a 3400ish lb v-10 car, I could give a rats hairy ass what happened after the WIN light came on in the left Ln. "With all due respect, and I do mean with all due respect"!
You're quoting a LAME ASS movie that is INCREDIBLY inaccurate. I could care less what happens in the 1/8th mile. Like I said it is ALL TRACTION. Pull the Viper on a full 1/4 mile in that truck and then I will be impressed. All this video proves is the Viper can't drive and the truck has 4x4.
You are truly wiser than the old man who gave me those pointers. A 381hp/401tq TWO WHEEL DRIVE truck on 275/55-20 TRUCK TIRES against a 400hp/465tq car on 335/35-17 MICHELINS. And yes, the Tundra is 2wd so try to find another "advantage" that the truck had. 1/8mi racing isn't weak. Your car may do 0-60mph in the 1/8th but thats not the case for everyone.
You're correct, there should have been no presumption the Tundra was 4x4.
If the Tundra is stock then it stands to reason given the Viper spun off the line the Tundra would win in the 1/8th mile. The Tundra out drove the Viper. I honestly don't know what my car would do in the 1/8th mile, I haven't run it at the track yet. I recently purchased it. At the tracks where I run the race isn't over after the 1/8th mile though.
My car would do better than 60mph in the 1/8 mile.
Funniest comment ever; it used to be the other way around, "Just wait till the American POS takes a corner then we'll see which is the better car"... hahaha
@rsrip12006 Even if there were turns, the viper has the worst handling I think i have ever experienced. The viper without fail slides off the track under power. It fucking annoyed me enough to sell it rather than upgrade the suspension.
It's so funny when a foriegn made car (any of the BIG 3 is now FORIEGN) loses to a domestic (AMERICAN MADE +DOMESTIC= TOYOTA) car people start saying that the race was unfair but you can watch and old viper or corvette tear the fuck out of any econobox and you don't hear any one crying, bitch. It's just lke a fight if both cars choose to race there should be NO excuses as to why one lost, you all start turning in to bitches on your period when you break out with excuses, seriously.
BAHHAHAHA. TUNDRA STRUCK BEEOTCH!

I might care about ADRL if they had any events anywhere near me. I'm sure they don't care about ETs or trap speeds do they since they post the record holders on their site for both ET and trap speeds.
The trap speeds would tell whether I should compliment the Tundra or not for beating a Viper that spun out. You're right the video is definitive on your victory but without ETs and trap speeds the video just shows you out drove a Viper.
thetravdawg 1 year ago
@ZFSix 1/8 mile thats for the ppl that cant win in the race that really matters (1/4 mile)
mranaya92 1 year ago
@mranaya92 But when you are at an 1/8th mile only track (which this one is), nothing else matters. Now since everyone thinks the Tundy is a 4x4, he could have gone through the sand pits at the end and went another 1/8mi and still would have won a 1/4mi race.
Meaty69Camaro 1 year ago
@mranaya92 Welcome to ZFSix's "Drag Racing 101." When drag racing; reaction time, traction, and power are probably the most important things. Ask any racer, any real racer and he or she will tell you that the beginning of the race is key to getting a victory, as evident in this video. The average Joe (you) prefers the 1/4 mile because his car isn't set up good enough to win in the 1/8th and he needs the extra track to come around the car that just killed him off the line.
ZFSix 1 year ago
@ZFSix The car that wins on the top end/has a faster trap speed is the faster car, hands down. You can say that you beat a car through the traps, but if his trap is faster he has the faster car. I am a real racer, i'm at the drags almost every week and I built my motor, trans and rear end in the garage. Faster trap= faster car. 1/8th mile racing is acceptable for cars that are setup for 1/8th mile drags. For street cars, 1/8th mile is pussy and is the ricer way of being able to say you won.
gtdrummerdude 1 year ago
@gtdrummerdude That's funny, so whoever makes it to the line first is completely irrelevant? Yeah, that makes sense. I don't care if you built your own car from scratch using newspaper and hot glue, you still don't know what you're talking about.
ZFSix 1 year ago
@ZFSix I didn't say whoever goes through the traps first is irrelevant, I said whichever car has the higher trap is the faster car. Not necessarily the winner of that race, but faster no doubt. Trap speed is the true indicator of performance. It has a direct correlation to the vehicle's power-weight ratio and is hardly affected by traction. ET is affected by many factors besides power-weight. Simple concept. A viper is faster than a Tundra for Pete's sake. Stupid argument.
gtdrummerdude 1 year ago
@gtdrummerdude Sure, trap speed is important. What you seem to be forgetting is whoever gets to the line first, wins. I never said "THIS TUNDRA IS WAY FASTER THAN A VIPER!" I posted a video of my good buddy doing a Viper dirty at the track, which cannot be argued. You got one thing right, it's a stupid argument. A Viper has more HP and weighs less than a Tundra, but saying it's faster than a Tundra is proven otherwise by my video. You can keep trying to argue and look even worse.
ZFSix 1 year ago
@gtdrummerdude Also, the Tundra isn't "setup" for 1/8mi drag, 1/4mi drag or any kind of drag. It's a 5k lb truck with the aerodynamics of a brick. But I have seen it beat modded GTs, Stockish LS1's, BBC Monte Carlo etc etc. So taking that into consideration, anyone who isn't impressed by the performance of this truck is just a hater.

@thetravdawg Dear Mr. Dawg,
A wise man once told me "spinnin aint winnin" and "It doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile, a win is a win". Now that being said, a 5000 lb v8 truck agains a 3400ish lb v-10 car, I could give a rats hairy ass what happened after the WIN light came on in the left Ln. "With all due respect, and I do mean with all due respect"!
Meaty69Camaro 1 year ago
@Meaty69Camaro
You're quoting a LAME ASS movie that is INCREDIBLY inaccurate. I could care less what happens in the 1/8th mile. Like I said it is ALL TRACTION. Pull the Viper on a full 1/4 mile in that truck and then I will be impressed. All this video proves is the Viper can't drive and the truck has 4x4.
thetravdawg 1 year ago
@thetravdawg Mr Dawg,
You are truly wiser than the old man who gave me those pointers.
Meaty69Camaro 1 year ago
@Meaty69Camaro
