For the most part, those of us marching against the Iraq occupation object to the mission, not the men & women carrying it out. My sister is an anti war veteran. She was there. She told me of a marching mother whose son was killed in Iraq. This woman was carrying a US flag and marching with the anti war group. The pro war counter demonstrators tried to grab the flag from her, telling her she did not deserve to carry it, that her son died defending this country. She replied, "No! My son died because someone else was defending his!" It is such a poignant statement about this war.

I was there with my daughter, right at the front where you were recording. It really captures the feel of the day. Those hateful counter-protesters and their embarrasingly stupid signs were horrifying. The helicopters were a rediculous waste of tax payers money, meant for intimidation. We had a run in with Pentagon police ourselves when we tried to re-enter the lot to get on our bus. We were so threatening, each of us weighs 112 lbs. It made us feel more sure that things need to change here.

wtf? The US is not at war because of a flag. The Flag is a symbol of America and what it stands for. Whether right or left it means the same. I just noticed the anti-war protestors don't fly it much.

There were bunches of US flags in the anti-war crowd. Bunches of Iraq vets too!! The Haliburton crowd also thought they were the only peeps who could chant U.S.A. too. But we all joined in.
