actually if you played Prinny Can I Really be the Hero?! it shows that Laharl really did die but he got revived back into his old body after a long hard and VERY PAINFUL jobs form Etna.

etna was overlord in prinny can i really be the hero and she would never give up her overlord powers

but in disgaea 2 she was a demon lord while prince was a overlord

so if you can say how he became the overlord when we know etna wont give up her power do so

Well, Rozalin gave Laharl 1 minute to be the main character. Flonne wanted impact so she came up with anime. Laharl likes it but is selfish and says that flonne have to get out of the way so they can animate him. Etna thinks he is an ass and is making up a dark plan with Flonne. When they are animated, flonne and Etna want laharl to enjoy this anime the fullest by torturing him.

Anyway, Laharl is angry and wants to leave and says: Lets go, Flonne. But flonne seems to like it there so she tells him she stays. Laharl is like: wha? And saying crap like he will not be lonely and he doesnt care. Than that red haired asks if he will be ok to flonne. He seems to be tearing up. FLonne replays with: Oh laharl is a big boy. Eventually he came back since he totally misses Flonne and he says he just joins the group because he like the pinked hairs cooking.Laharl is too shy to tell.

on chapter 12 or so you have to play the game for 40 hrs and then the proposal "I want to fight an overlord" will be at the dark assembly. approve it, beat it, and "Flonne" will join you. After getting her go to the dark assembly and pass the "I want to be a senator" proposal and have "Adell" become a senator. go back in the dark assembly, pick "Adell" and at the bottom go to "Attend dark assembly", scroll down, and find "Summon Laharl". Approve it, beat it and Laharl will join you.
