In '10 it seemed like it was just messed up mechanics and poor conditioning that led to the massive drop in his fastball velocity. His velocity was back up this year and more consistent. Probably just a steady natural decline in velocity. Can't possibly expect him to throw 98-99 for his whole career.

It does appear that the right one is from the stretch but there is no one on base in either situation, so I'll rule it out.
I always thought TIm did keep his hands awfully low before hand break.
I think the newer one is more fluid for staging the shoulders into the acceleration phase.
