Actually, bubba, I have a 97 F150 with the V6 and 5M, 2nd owner, has a hair over 315k miles with no rebuilds on the motor or the tranny, I drive it 4 days a week in Dallas traffic and on road trips and have NEVER had a problem, replaced the battery once in 100k miles that's all. What I'm getting at is that it's not necessarily the brand but the owner and how well you take care of the motor and your driving habits. I have a Trans Am that I beat the hell out of, but that's a different story.
