The problem for a-ha is that they are being compared to Keane & Coldplay. It's great that they have these modern bands being fulsome about their work but FOTM (single) is waaay too much like Coldplay for me.

well, zipster, I will state that being "rockier" than Take That is not a needed goal. Even though I think that's silly, it doesn't matter - there's more ethereal types of music than just ROCK. They are who they are, and they sound fantastic. You can hear it in the production, and for his age, he sounds amazing. I know many a singer that hit 40 & lost their high range. He can still do it, maybe not half as good as when he was 25, but is done with skill & the writing is great! sorry!

The music is good, but the lyrics and the video are weird. And why would you want to stay at the foot of a mountain? And what has coastline got to do with a mountain?
I find this song quite good, yet not among the best in the new album. Riding the crest, the bandstand ( even if it feels a little..weak at first..) and Mother Nature goes to heaven are truly great songs.

Sup Zip mate... well... been about a week since I left that comment agreeing with you about how 'weak' this single is for an A-HA track and I still think this is pathetic song to release for a 'so-called' comeback single. I remember getting the 1st album,'Hunting High & Low' back in da 80's & also remember going to the NEC to see 'em in concert. I think this track is superb! I've been fairly dismissive of Aha in the past but this really shows their brilliant songwriting skills and the fact they're still producing music like this proves they've definately got something. I'm tempted to go and see them in Nov.
Wow, I thought a-ha was dead. To be fair, I never really showed interest enough to listen to more than "Take On Me", but I guess I just assumed they were one of those "One Hit Wonder, Then Die" bands. It's pretty cool seeing them still around, I like this track! :D

And as for vertigirlvox's comment about thanking god cuz they're back just shows she don't know nufink about A-HA init like... they never went anywhere luv. But this is by far the worst single I've heard from them for a long while like. They should have stopped releasing stuff after 'Lifelines' in my opinion. A Ha were always that bit different than the rest of their contemporaries when they first came on to the scene all the way back in the mid 80's. They had that extra quality. I for one am glad to see them back and on top of their game. It's a great track!

Well FOTM single made no 81 in the UK charts.
It was not released as a CD i believe, just download. As we commented on the single, it does not have any "oomph" and lacks the usual a-ha quality.
I don't think they're having a comeback with this song...but they may need one after it!!
No 5 in the UK charts which is good, but they just will not attract enough new fans to make a difference with this bilge.

Did anyone hear the radio2 live show yesterday?They did a Depesh Mode song.They were superb live.However i am worried about this album & will buy it tomorrow.I have heard 1 or 2 tracks & am undecided about the album.

I think this track is superb! I've been fairly dismissive of Aha in the past but this really shows their brilliant songwriting skills and the fact they're still producing music like this proves they've definately got something. I'm tempted to go and see them in Nov.

Wow, I thought a-ha was dead. To be fair, I never really showed interest enough to listen to more than "Take On Me", but I guess I just assumed they were one of those "One Hit Wonder, Then Die" bands. It's pretty cool seeing them still around, I like this track! :D

Can I jump in that time machine with ya zippy cuz, I have to agree with you. And as for vertigirlvox's comment about thanking god cuz they're back just shows she don't know nufink about A-HA init like... they never went anywhere luv. But this is by far the worst single I've heard from them for a long while like. They should have stopped releasing stuff after 'Lifelines' in my opinion. Sad really, cuz I wanted it to be good... nevermind.

A Ha were always that bit different than the rest of their contemporaries when they first came on to the scene all the way back in the mid 80's. They had that extra quality. I for one am glad to see them back and on top of their game. It's a great track!

2 decades and these guys still sound [and look] so great!
And the lyrics seem to get simpler and yet deeper.
