  • อร่อย จังเลย โว้ย

  • I love this dish , And always use mixure in the package ( not home made ) , Now that I know how to make from scratcs , I will have fresh satay dish from now on . Thanks .

  • It doesn't look like Satay i used to at all

  • hey satay is indonesian.... not thai!!!!

  • I made this dish! It was really easy. As for the Satay... I don't have a grill, so I had to use a pan (without the sticks...). It tasted good, but I know it would of been 100x better on a grill. Anyways... the peanut sauce, I don't care what country it's from, was great! My mom is a picky eater and still loved it.

  • lol ur mom is so funny and cute

  • satay 2009

  • MMMMmmmm, I can smell it cooking!! Thanks !

  • Dear collegebrett,

Basically, most of Asian food not put MSG at all, I love to cook Asian food, it always turn out so tasty without MSG. and this Thai cooking class, so far is the BEST , try it out before you talk pleas.

  • It's weird that she used sweetened condensed milk. In Thailand, we use coconut milk with cane sugar instead.

Pork stay is really popular than beef one and it can be a main dish. It usually comes with sliced cucumber salad with vinegar.

  • This looks so yummy... I like Nong Poy...

  • Chicken satay is my favorite. I love it with peanut sauce on the side.

  • This looks so good !!!!!!!

  • Satay is huge in the Netherlands, first place I had it

  • I have been telling my boyfriend that I want to go somewhere to try Thai food, and we haven't found a restaurant close enough. I think we'll just make it! Your recipes look soooo yummy! :)

  • for all the recipes and Thai cooking videos visit our website

  • theres no meat in the dipping sauce.. its masaman paste, peanut butter, coconut milk,...

  • man i wish i had a wok burner like that...

  • I love satay

  • i just had thai spring rolls with peanut sauce so good i just love this recipe

  • Why does everyone think that peanut sauce is Thai? go to Thailand and no one will even know what peanut sauce is!

There are Thai peanut based dipping sauces, but they are NOT made with mud like peanut butter. Try roasting some peanuts and chopping them up. A little more effort, but the easy way out isn't always the best.

  • great recipe, only difference i made was to add ajinomoto to marinade. that is msg. bad for you, not sure, but it is used in many asian dishes, including thai dishes. considered as 5th flavor - sweet, salty, sour, spicy + msg. is the dish missing something? may be msg. you decied.

  • you must not good in cooking at all. I'm not Thai, but, I cook thai food,American food, Italian food, and Chinese food.

Basically, most of Asian food not put MSG at all, I love to cook Asian food, it always turn out so tasty without MSG. and this Thai cooking class, so far is the best, try it out before you talk pleas.

  • isn't satay originated from Indonesia???

  • most likely from indonesia, but other southeast asian countries used it in recipes because it tastes awesome

  • we also have the same style of cooking chicken and pork here in Japan but it is much simpler(using salt or sweetened soy sauce) your style looks more yummy! definitely i'll try your recipe. Love your channel and now i'm a big fan....love from Tokyo

  • soaking skewers in water really doesn't matter. they will burn anyway. it's best to use foil on the rack to keep the fire off of the skewer.. petty i know. but just a tip..

  • For your health consideration avoid using foil, heating foil will transfer certain amount of lead into your food. You don't want that lead into your food , don't you? Use bamboo skewers or surgical stainless steel skewer instead.

  • the best dish ever!!!!...ate it my first time at banana island.....I want to try theirs now..lol....hooked on the peanut butter sauce...

  • Does anyone know what's the ingredient that she ads after the indian curry? because of her accent i can't understand what she's saying!

  • LEMON GRASS ( Ta-Krai) smell very good.

  • i/2 stalk of fresh lemon grass chopped finely

  • I'm pretty sure she says half-stalk of lemon grass.

  • ooooooooooooooh god now i am hungry!

  • Chicken satay is MY favorite. Yummy!

  • i'm indonesian.

And the satay from thai are the same as indonesian satay. peanut sauce is very yummy !!!

  • OMG, this looks so easy and so wonderful. Makes me hungry just watching them cook.

  • Their peanut sauce looks diff from the one in my country. I think its because we don't use peanut butter. We use peanuts...

  • I LOVE PEANUT SAUCE! ITS SOMETHING THAT I'D NEVER FORGET TO EAT WITH! And that's true!

  • i've watched a couple of your videos and i really like the mother-daughter generational aspect. The recipes are great but you two make it fun to watch :)

  • just a note about the skewers.. they will burn no matter how long you soak them. depending on your heat on the grill. you can place foil under the skewers to prevent flair ups.

  • so cool!

  • thankyou for the video it gave me an idea for my G.C.S.E 's and I passed thankyou so much1 And its eally easy to make. Thankyou again.

  • It does look wonderful btw. Thanks for posting.

  • I guess satay isn't satay w/o the grilling. I live in China and yet owning a grill in a 4th floor apt isn't convenient. Any ideas?

  • Not sure what your setup is in China but if they have an outdoor patio or porch you could make it there. I wouldn't try doing it indoors unless you have a really good exhaust fan...which we did for this recipe

  • Thank you for showing how to cook satay. I like the way you both explained it. Are you mother and daughter. I am going to make it this weekend.

  • I did this one last night. Very good.

  • Yea sure I saw 'satays' sold in every street side in Thailand, but are you sure it's called satay too over there?

What I know is the word is an English version of the Indonesian & Malay word of 'Sate'.

And you want to know why the chicken is the most popular one in usa (or anywhere else for that matter)? Cos that's also the most common ones found in Indonesia & Malaysia.

  • The Thais adopted Satay from the Indonesians and also call it "Satay" in Thailand

  • Ah I see. Thanks! :)

  • Thank you. Your cooking lesson is simple and creative. I will try it soon.

  • Sate KAJANG Hj.Samuri,THE BEST SATE EVER!!

  • Good job egeefay. This dish is low fat and pratically carb free.

  • low fat & carb free??

with the amount of coconut milk & peanut butter used, and the sweetened milk... I'm not so sure about that.. lol..

  • I love beef satay . . .this does not look to hard to make . . .i will have to try it.

  • my aunty is thai but im welsh

  • you guys are great, you guys should have a show on TV here on PBS or something.

  • Can the dipping sauce be made the night before?

  • Yes. If you want you can make the peanut sauce ahead of time

  • Thank you. room temperature or frig?

  • love the vd thank you ur a great chef

  • "Some say that Chinese immigrants started selling it on the streets in Malaysia"

This just might be the correct version. At least that's what I was told by many people. Great video btw.

  • lol that lady is so cute

  • You girls are great. I'd love to spend a day cooking with you both, you have so much to share. Keep it coming.

  • i love thai foood..it's my all time fav. ^_^

  • Great video. Now I know how to cook satay.

  • Yum yum..delicious....This dish was originated from Laos by Chef Khamvongsathawanekingkongthipasapirsatlaoisnumberone back in 6969 B.C. For more info about this world famous chef go to Google seach engine and type in his last name provided above.

  • oh no! another Thai hating Laos. Go ask the khmers theyll say they created it sheesh. Peanut sauce is likely from thai. I can think of any lao dish that has peanuts. That's why tum som thai has peanuts.

  • I love chicken satay (the proper spelling is actually sate). I'm sure it's from indonesia. I usually cook it in my own indo way but it's good to know there's another vari of sate.Sweet vid!

  • The origins of satay are not clear. Some say that Chinese immigrants started selling it on the streets in Malaysia. Others credit the Malay or Javanese street vendors who were influenced by the Middle eastern kebab who came to south east asia in the 19th centry. However, The dish is very popular throughout southeast Asia. Each country has it's own variation

  • What kind of curry goes into the coconut dipping sauce? I didn't get that part.

  • 3 tsps Masaman curry paste

  • What was that stuff that goes in the peannut sauce that sounded like mung? You said it can be found at an asian food store?

  • It's masaman curry paste.

  • Mussaman (muslim) curry paste.

  • what does fish sauce do to the flavor? Does it make it taste fishy?

  • Fish sauce is used in Thailand in place of salt. It gives a salty flavor but also has a distinct flavor of its own. Fish sauce is made from a mixture of Anchovies and salt.

  • thank you so much for posting these thai recipes!!

  • huh i love thai food!!
