I always had an image and they should have done this as well, that Jason was dancing in some deserted bar or that barn with his mask on, dancing to this music wildly on his own, getting off on what he does and gets away with like! My sister thought it would be funnier if Jason was in a nightclub dancing with his msk on and holding up his axe at the same time!

trust me, im well aware of who was jason voorhees in F13 p3. I was stating the fact that Jason was protrayed by Kane Hodder in Pts 7-X. Since then it was Ken Krizinger in Freddy VS Jason and Derek Mears in the reboot. What i was saying is that Kane is the best Jason and should return as Jason

This title sequence = seven different dimensional planes of awesome. The disco is creepy and somehow reminds me of hot, sweaty nights in the woods, and those blocky orange credits zooming forward make my day. The foggy blue background only adds to the look. Sandwiched in between the more serious, urgent music of parts 2 and 4, this is kind of like Jason's little detour into summer madness at Higgins Haven.

This song is by far the worst out of the series. It doesn't even fit Jason, I don't understand how people like this crap. It's terrible??

Jason was not the icon that he is now. He was only the killer for the 2nd time by this point. He hadn't even gotten the famous mask until 2/3 of the movie was over. The theme is supposed to be creepy and suspenseful which it does pull off in its own way. You have to rmemeber this was just a few short years after the end of the disco era so it might have that kind of beat to it as well. Overall I think its probably 1 of the best themes to come out of the franchise and probably none better.

I remember when my parents saw this movie in 1983. I was only 12 and too young to see it. But they brought me back the 3D specs and I kept them for years until I got to see the movie on video. To my absolute horror, the fucking 3D didn't work on VHS. And it was the same with the Freddy's Dead 3D ending. That video even CAME with 3D-FREDDY VISION specs... and THEY didn't work either. Arrrrghhhh!!!!!!

I concur, this opening is perfection personified. As a punk ass 12 yo seeing this for the first time in the theater i was totally excited to see this unexpected credit sequence complete with amazing music.

The titles came out of the screen right in front of you, you could just about touch them, terrific.
