India is cool because its the closest to what Greece, Celtic World, and Rome was really like! temples, holy places, the pantheons of gods, wandering mystics, hermits, etc.
More than any other civilization in the History of humanity, Indian civilization with its progressive thoughts on the mystery of human life & eternity deserve the title of being a TRULY GREAT civilization!
The praise is for an idea, an intent for a culture that aspires to understand human place in cosmos. My regards for Mayans, Incas & Ancient Egyptians is just as high. Acknowledging that which is great is a mark of respect and there is NO PRAISING ONESELF as you seem to imagine.
