  • YOU NEVER MADE THIS VIDIO

  • I lived in Dunbarton as a child and this really is nice, thank you for the beautiful Pictures btw was that Glen Daly singing?

  • One

  • Well said dirkwan1

  • all we need is tumbleweed rolling about the ton centre

  • Came as boy from India. Served as an apprentice in Denny's from 1956-1962.The image that sticks with me mostly is that of the yard gates opening up and people spewing out in their thousands - it's an abiding image, the first person squeezing out that narrow gap in the gate as it opens and on the other side the security men trying to hold you back. That ritual was played out every night reinforcing the difference between them and us, The yard closed in 1963. Now there is no trace of it.

  • bellsmyre:)

  • Your winter scenes were very good. I have not been back home for such a long time, it is good to see the town without all the ugly bits I hear it has now

  • Also lived opposite Babcock & Wilcox & Dewrances (both long gone) - no 21 Glasgow Rd, plymscot, its a different number now. Brother lived in Bellsmyre and it was ok then but Im talking 50 years ago! I went to St Pats - also long gone!

  • brilliant

  • Great video, I love staying in Dumbarton, it is so beautiful and it's great to see how much it has changed over the years. Love you loads Dumbarton xxxx

  • I used to go Keil school, had some happy memories of Dumbarton but thing's seem to have gotten worse since 1988. A real shame, same old story drugs and gangs.

  • the irish have ruined it. famines over

  • sorry if it sound bads ..but it is, i was brought up there myself, stop any ten people in the high street and mention that name , 9 out of ten will tell you the same story, trouble making low-life, bellsmyre used to be a decent place to live but thanks to these vermin its a no-go area now

  • bellsmyre is full of stinking shitebag neds now a family of dole scrounging brain dead scum called the diamonds live there and do nothing but cause trouble, im suprised no one has killed or burnt them out yet, ones a police grass and the other is a junkie with mental health problems, the mother fat mary is a fat alcohalic half-witt

  • I always enjoy reading an unbiased, well-constructed response.

  • wits yer second name

  • ii Miss Youu !

  • who are you

  • 1986 i lived in dumbarton for about a half a year. i loved the town and i have great meories with it and i hope iwill see the town once again. lots of greetings to the people in dambarton

  • The old photos of Dumbarton are from an era of more or less full employment but like anywhere else take away the jobs and your left with junkiesville. Perhaps a good idea for bringing money into the area would be trips round Brucehill and Bellsmyre, watching the Polis givin punters the jail for no turnin doon shady baw music like the pish that's playin in the background.

  • nice video, thats where i was brought up ..

shame its full of dirty junkie scum ...

    hail hail

  • i live there woop

  • Thanks for posting. This is where I grew up and it brings back so many great memories.

  • Pity - you would fit in just fine and it would be one less muppet where you do actually live. Thanks for the laugh you clown. Have you ever thought about a career in comedy?

  • It's all the junkie's and ned's that's ruined Dumbarton over the years. All they do is fight.

  • my town...born and bred! its a shame, its a lovely place but i agree with the majority of other comments that it has been spoiled in the recent years. x

  • My hometown =]

  • nice is my hometown to good shots but is kindof a dump :s

  • My Hometown...shame it's such a shithole now!!

  • Dumbarton is a nice town but it so full of DAFTIES. So glad that I have emigrated. Dumbarton would just be called Arton if it was not for the people who lived there.

  • I agree with Gsixtyone - almost all the ones with the red border were cribbed directly from the More Than A Memory site - specifically, the Kidsviews section of the site (I count eight photos from there). Those photos were taken by local schoolkids, who should get the credit - nothing whatsoever to do with Undiscovered Scotland.

  • Just a shame so many of the nice shots were cribbed straight off the More Than A Memory site.

  • they were not cribbed more than a memory site they were downloaded from udescoverd scotland site thes picture are on a lot of websites and many more but alot of them are watermarked and you cant copy them

  • very nice, Dumbarton is my hometown as well...some nice shots..thank you.

  • this movie was not made by you it was made by tommy burrows you got it by e mail

  • are you jealous sure sounds like it

  • Thanks for posting. This is also my home town. Great to see the clips that bring back so many great memories for me.
