  • Fuck Mr.Weir

  • Whoa! This is an interesting way of spinning.

I wonder if it is possible to just secure a drop spindle and use it this way, and when I need to go out, I'll pull the drop spindle from the cart o_O

  • I don't think its really any quicker than using a drop spindle and certainly less portable.

  • Can you tell me the benefit of this system? I am just learning and wonder if this is easier than using a spinning wheel? It seems like it takes a long time to get only a little yarn, when you have to stop each time to wind it on. Is this easier than a wheel? Thank you, it looks like a lot of fun.

  • It's cheaper and smaller than a spinning wheel, but a bit easier to use than a drop spindle. It's more of an upgrade from a drop spindle.

  • This one looks SO cool ! I want one !! :-P

(Do you sell those btw ?)

  • I have just bought one of your spindles and I was wondering how one would go about 2-plying on it. Is it any different than a parlor wheel?

  • Hi, What I do to ply on this wheel is to wind off into a center pull ball (I use a ball winder) then I take the ends and ply into a two ply of course spinning the opposite direction. This is the same method I use on my Louet spinning wheel as well. It is really no different than a regular spinning wheel. If you have any more questions, please let me know.

  • wonderful, I've never seek a kick wheel, but seeing this i can see how it would be a great portable wheel, one stage up from a spindle

    thanks

  • Enjoyable and educational - terrific quality

  • Hey, yes, there is a hook on the tip. You don't have to have the hook, I just personally found it easier with it. Its a little more like spinning on a top whorl drop spindle with the hook. Without the hook its more a like a bottom whorl. I prefer the top whorl so I had my husband design it with the hook.

    Thanks for you comments.

  • Great video! I own a Mother Marion spinning wheel and couldn't figure out just how it was done. I do have a question though. It looks like there is 'something' on the tip...like a hook maybe? My spindles came with just a rounded smooth pointy tip. Thanks for the video!
