@boystape This was a plaster bandage mother mold. We didn't show the process on this mold but you can find it amongst our other videos if you search "plaster bandage mother mold process".
what if you used acrylic and what if you use acrylic and let it dry and place it on your eye afterwards like how can you put this stuff on your face when it's dry? ( sorry if this is a stupid question, m8 )
@yankovic1234 Tacky but not gooey. If you can touch it without it transfering to your finger you are probably ready for another coat. Make sure you touch test in an inconspicuous area.
@brickintheyard also is there a cheaper type of silicone you guys have that i can make a negeative mold from a head carved out of klean klay and could be used for making a fiber glass positive
if i were to carve a head out of klean klay, then make this negative silicone mold and make a mother mold, then could i make a positive mold out of fiber glass
All the numbers o.O xD good job man but uh I´ve a qestion± I need a Silecone for minature´s and then a (Hard) PLastic ( liqued) it's for warhammer if you want to knwo can you advise me with you knwolegde :)
so could i use Poly 74-30 Urethane for a mold and use Plat-Sil Gel 10 as a casting material? also how much would i need? ( i plan on doing one full head mask about 1/8th of an inch thick)
Thanks again Mitch for yet another great video. I really can't wait until I have the time to get into mold making. (just so darn busy with prop and robot building at the moment!)
Really appreciate all the work you put into these videos, especially the narration. (too many lazy tutorials are just doing text these days)
Why am i watching this :/

one question: Is there anyway that the brush on method can be done without the thickener?
coolbionicle 2 months ago
@coolbionicle Yes, but you would waste a lot of silicone and you would have to apply many layers to get a decent thickness.

@Mngzkhuel Go to the website listed at 9:40 and you will find it. We have several Tin silicones on our webstore that work great for brush on molds.

@brickintheyard I live in Germany. Is that silicone available here as well? To ship it all the way from America seems odd to me.

Yes, you can cast Gel-10 into 74-30. Our DVD "Fundamentals of Silicone Skins" covers that process in great detail.
