I am aware of my Autism, I was trying to explain something to my dad that made sense to me and didn't to him, but I was thinking 'How can I put this in NORMAL language' HAHA !
It's like WE know non-autistics find it hard to understand us so we have to figure out a way of explaining how we think and what we mean, but from their point of view, WE find it hard to understand them and they have to figure out a way to explain themselves yo us.
Every second of the day, I have to constantly put the needs of everyone else's above my own. That's what Asperger's is about: reminding yourself to let others speak more than you do, controlling confusion and stress, pretending that you are interested in what others are saying when often, deep down you are not. You are an actor. It is a horrible affliction. It NEVER goes away.
"hurt in the mind..." some of the things they say have a simple, practical eloquence to them that really shine through. i think we could probably all learn something from people with autism.
If I had one wish I would use it to wipe away mental illness. I feel so bad for these kids because they are all such good people but it's heartbreaking what they've been dealt.
what i also notticed is staff inability to keep up with gifted kids at school. when the establishment is prestigeous you can expect more, at state - mess and gutter
fackin stupid idea for special schools and the whole idea of "i got autism i got apsergers" - astrostupidity,,, possibly got asperger myself:D and the only way 2 sustain - normal school, outside world plus wise sensible parents and online games:D.when parents struggle within their own vortex the outcome becomes clear... what i dislike had moved from poland is the whole family-centrism's absence in england. ppl got issues, things, things, wheres the fundament of normal life gone? nara kurwy;d
I'm a swim instructor and I've taught children with varying degrees of autism and while there have been issues here and there with behaviour....all of the children I've known are wonderfully sweet and happy. I'm not sure I agree with a school that appears to be teaching children that there's something wrong with them.
@oddi88 I have autism you fucking retard! and btw that teacher got fired after the documentary so shut the fuck up how dare you fucking say i dont know anything about autism when i fucking have it you fucking piece of fucking shit.!
Roy is awesome, i'd love to have a friend like him, :) I have Asperges all my life, I know how hard it is with autism, it's makes life so confusing hard to understand, but for me when people understand it makes it better. x
@Yodan82 people do accept people with autism its just they try to help them to act more normal in the world. to get jobs get into relationships and maybe enjoy life a little bit more
Because it is human nature do avoid those who we believe to be sick and outcast them for the sake of not allowing them to pass on their fucked-up genes so more generations of aspies can be born.
I feel so sorry for that little boy. Life without a Mum!

But, it is worth the effort, because the alternative is to be alone. And to be alone is a fate worse than death.
Believe me, even the idea of that, almost make me cry.

That's a little harsh how they juxtaposed the music with her outburst.

How about accepting autism and help them with their problems? Instead of simply not acccepting them the way they are.
Not all stress is coming from the autism itself. If only people know what it feels like knowing that you will never be accepted the way you are.
Yodan82 2 years ago 27
@yodan82 i agree with you

@Yodan82 It's not about not accepting them, it's about not accepting their illness. The issue is complex.
