I believe the reason why Discord is a better villain in this series is because the voice of Discord is done by the same guy that plays Q on Star Trek: TNG. That guy KNOWS how to do villains and they managed to copy his character yet make something new out of it. This proves one thing: Lauren Faust is a trekkie.

I know how he would feel, I can't believe one would have to wait a whole week just to see the next episode. It's one of those most suspenseful moments where the villain gets the upper hand and we wonder "What the hell are the heroes going to do to fix this?" That villain played the girls right into his hands with that deceitful trick, so now Twilight, the only one with her colors, must find some way to beat this guy at his own game. But how?
