Yes Rob! hahaha, MEN OF LAKE are amazing! I love retro bands, and MEN OF LAKE achieve this with fresh ideas (One of the best, sometimes similar to LANDBERK for example)!!!
The music is often louder than the vocals when the singer just isn't that good, or the engineer didn't know what he was doing. Many bands do that, when you can hear a vocalist real well the instruments will be pulled down, or turned down in the mix. This is stuff I would have heard back in the 70's, sounds like Atomic Rooster or Yes.

The voice is cool, but the strings sound cheap... they are too loud and need a richer sound...the rest is ok
